The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

So the teams are a new thing that wasn't here when I was here last. (Took a break for a bit) Are there teams for NIB players or is it just for horses with huge amounts of skills?

I think it honestly depends on the team. I think there are still both types. It's just a matter of finding them.

Are you in the discord chat with the rest of the NIBers? If not I can get the link PM'd to you.

I am not. That would be great! It is so hard to coordinate with PMs.

Hey, all! I've recently gotten into breeding NIB, and I'd like to start interacting with other breeders. Could someone please send me the link to the NIB discord chat?

Thanks much!

There'a Discord chat for NIB? Count me in, please! default smiley :d

Ugh, GaiaGeek, I wish it was on the US version as that's where I'm looking for Percheron foundies for two breeding projects.

Speaking the US version, there has been questions about NIB on the US version forum. I guess some people are still trying NIB there. It certainly is NOT easy! Lord knows I nearly gave up on the US version because inbreeding was outrageous. Just as bad as Disappeared horses.

I've a Finn Horse that is a Foundie I kept and I do breed her with other foundie Finns. I sell the gen 2 foals.

Anyone know if there is an NIB Arabian team called "Fury of the West"? I am running into lots of foundy Arabians in low-level comps with that name, as in every horse entered in a comp has that name. All are from different, but very similar patterns of names, less than 12 day old breeders. Before I question multi-accounting, I wanted to make sure it isn't a foundy team I wasn't aware of.

I think Fury of the West is the name of one of the horses you can buy on the tutorial so thats probably why loads of players have horses called that

Ok that might make sense. I don’t remember the tutorial horses’ names except Mother Hen. It was just weird because there were a lot in the comps and by different newbie breeders with names like sara017, sara018,sara019, and so on. Just trying to get a few last wins on one horse that is in western comps and he keeps getting stomped a bit.

Some might be multi account players, but I think that's one too many accounts for one person. lol

Just from the naming pattern you mentioned, I'd say that is most likely one person with many accounts... I've seen some like it. They stay up for ages before someone notices. default smiley (d)

I have 2 Finnish mares I have held aside for an NIB home. I didn't want to sell them to the general breeders. They are clean mares and they have completed foal games. Send me a DM if you would like them for your NIB project.

It wasn't meant to be an advert, just a way of sharing with other NIBers. We have offered foundies in this thread before as a way of helping out the NIB community. I apologize if that has changed. I will find another way to connect to NIBers.

Are NIB horses/unicorns any more valuable than their inbred counterparts? I'm trying to price a foal of mine and don't want to over/undercharge default smiley :)

Hi! It depends on your NIB. If it's a foundation, they're more sought-after. If it's non-inbred offspring of foundations/NIB horses, the market shrinks considerably. Some people I'm sure would be interested, but if they work like I do, they value security of their lines - disappeared horses mean we can't verify they're NIB any longer. I can't really tell you how to price your horse regardless, but I hope this is helpful to you!

Yes people do still come here just NIBing is slow so it's not as often as threads for other things, like the Spoiler thread.
