It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

So yes, but primarily we only do purebred lines/genetics for NIB since crossbreeding has it's own forum. But that being said, everyone has their own projects default smiley :)

I am back after long hiatus, my old account was deleted from inactivity. My former login was bumblesmama (actually if you look early in this post, 2011 or so, I am talking about my NIB Arab project).

Anyway, I thought I would do an NIB Curly project. How do I find foundies in the sales with the new GP changes? I had a HNIB project back in the day, just wondering if that is even possible now?

I am relearning the terminology, so bear with me, and trying to find other NIBers to be friends with.

I am trying to start a new NIB project, my only experience with NIB projects was an HNIB project I did with original 350/351.2GP foundies a long time ago.

Trying to find foundies is challenging if the base value changes with time as foundies are added to the game.

Is there a post or EC forum somewhere that keeps a current (not sure if it needs to be daily) base GP for foundies?

You can find out what the current foundie GP is by going to a horse breed's page. The green star skill distribution at the bottom should reflect what the foundie GP for that day is. Not sure if the GP itself changes based upon breed though.
hey all! the other day i tracked down 3 NIB horses in the sales so i can start on this project. i have some other projects as well, and i don't spend money on this game, so it'll be slow going but i just wanted to say hello as an aspiring NIB breeder!

Very interesting I don’t think I am a dedicated nib but I like the idea of it so I might help contribute as I like the idea and the fun of it. Also just recently snagged a few priceless unicorn foundations and just had born 2 nib unicorn foals I’m so happy, I also have a few breeds of foundies so if anything I can sorta help if people need it

@ dααé

Thanks for the tip. Yes, that is the exact place to look for current found base GP.
I sampled a bunch of different breeds and they all have the same base GP, so that answers that.

As if today the base GP of foundies is 5652.

I've got a collection of Barbs, 9 foundations plus 3 generations (4 horses). I'd like to pass these on to someone who will appreciate the work I've put into them and take them farther than I will. If you'd like to discuss, please DM me. Thanks!

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone had any NIB Hanos, TBs, Arabs, or Welshes that they are looking to rehome?
I am starting a fun, NIB side project that requires all 4 breeds and haven't seen many in the sales that aren't under 1,000 passes! The horses don't have to be a certain age or skill level or anything as long as they are NIB.

Let me know please!

How far back in the family tree is considered NIB? I'm guessing the whole thing however some family trees take ages to search through.
Hologram

Yeah the whole family tree. The members that NIB usually will use spreadsheets to keep track of everyone and their lineage to have it in one location but starting out unfortunately you do just have to track it horse by horse.

ah okay, might have to just buy a foundie stallion then, thanks!

I definitely recommend using stallions and mares that you own too because you never know when a player is going to quit, causing you to lose like half your blood line if you use outside stallions! (It's happened to me and it's the worst!)

Yea I can imagine. Unfortunately, I don't have a foundie stallion in my collection default smiley :(

I'm looking to start a new foundie project just for fun, anyone have any ideas how I could find foundies in the direct sales? I've been randomly seeing some cheap ones the past couple weeks and looking today I wasn't able to find any that weren't way too expensive. Thanks!

The ranking should be updated soon, guys. I missed some time due to some pesky Real Life stuff.

Also, since there is always some confusion....for the purpose of the rankings, a 'first generation' NIB is the foal of two foundies, not the foundies themselves. Foundies are essentially 'gen zero', since they are generated by the game and not 'bred' by a player. So if you submitted a horse and the gen in the rankings doesn't appear to match up, that's why!

Of course, since NIBing is an informal thing and not an official game activity, you can number generations however you wish to within your own program. There's no 'wrong' way, really. It's just a matter of keeping things uniform in the main post above.
