The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

While I can't guarantee it's up the date, there are a few on the list we've been trying to put together!

I’ve worked so hard on my NIB Thoroughbreds. I bred my first 3rd generation stallion.
Then Gaia’s Foal ran out after 30 days, and I don’t know where to go from here. How are NIB breeders supposed to survive without a constant supply of foundies? default smiley :'(default smiley :$

It involves hunting through the sales for more or taking advantage of different promos. Sometimes they'll release a breed. Purchasing pass packs with real money can introduce more foundies to the game as well. Are you part of the discord ? There's a ton of NIBers in there that can help you continue your line.

Not gonna lie ive spent hundreds of thousands on my foundie hoard. Not just equus but thousands of passes. just keep trucking, they pop up now and then. also the discord group will be a good place to get some support. both storms ransome and i are in there.

All OG TESF (The Epona Stud Farm) fully BLUPPED stallions have been rehomed, mostly to either Tigrelily or Storms Ransom. They include almost all the breeds up until the last few years. Most have 351.20 GP.

If unfamiliar with that project it is explained in my EC's forum.

I feel that Yankee Lady's posts do not need to be censored if she is informing other NIBers that she has foundations if people are looking for them. WE have never been censored for that type of post. Not by Rivenwood or Misabel. SO why is she suddenly being censored now?

I think it is not fair as well. I am a lurker in this forum since I collect foundies from certain breeds. But it is not that there is an option in the sales for searching a foundie like it is with a purebred or yes/no affix. Kinda weird to cencor the message here as well as this is the NIB/Foundie topic and Yankee seems a NIB breeder herself. And is a long time member.

There was an update on the last page to clarify the line about ads that's in the main post, which does say "Please do not use this topic for advertising horses for sale." Otherwise it's not fair to allow ads in one topic and not another.

Ads for disbursals of other resources have never been allowed in any of the public forums.

While I understand the rules, I do think we need to work to change them for certain circumstances. Unless the game makes a category for finding foundations and NIB horses in general, there should be a forum on the game for that information to be shared. Not everyone wants to have a discord or facebook account to keep track of game content…..having a section on the game itself makes things way more convenient for anyone involved.

The developers need to realize that not everyone is in the GP race and that there are many ways to play this game. If they can’t provide us with the same abilities and conveniences as the inbred horses, they should make an exception in the forums for us.

I've always been an alternative project player, so I very much understand the need for different search filters. I suggest sending any feedback, suggestions, or questions regarding those concerns to Contact Us.

In the meantime, I recommend using your profile pages and/or EC forums for ads. If NIB breeders are active in this topic, then players looking for, or selling, their foundations and covers can then visit your pages from here to see if you're selling anything.

I just don't see how they are ads though. We've always said we had foundies to help each other out. Is it due to wording? Old posts used to say, "hey I have this breed. contact me if you're looking" and then there were posts that were specifically advertising for sale. Isn't there some sort of wording difference here?

I understand not advertising for resources. But simply saying, hey I found a Thoroughbred foundie and I'm looking to see if anyone is looking for their projects seems a whole lot different to me than, "I have foundies for sale, PM me with offers or if you're interested". That to me is clearly a post that is advertising to make a sale. But if its the intent of helping or getting a horse to someone who will use it for their project, I feel is much different.

Sounds like a thin line. I myself collect/buy up Quarter Horse and Curly foundies (without H. Ray) and I try to immortalize/100 BLUP all of them. If NIB are looking for covers from any of my foundies (also got some other breeds) that would be fine. But posting that here is also kinda advertising I feel like.

Saying that you are looking for horses/covers, or willing to part with them, is still an ad.

If you'd like to discuss the matter further, please refer your questions to Contact Us,
