Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Sunny- I breed IH crosses- lookie at FightinWithFire, I'm quite proud of her. default smiley :)
Although my crosses are mainly IH, I put some paint/freezie/standardbred into them every once in a while.
I cross Hanos and quarters. They do alright in comps but I haven't gotten a monster yet.

the hano/arab best cross I have, see starlight my hano arab (arab form) she has won like a 100 comps,as she beats all the pure arabs at showjumping because of the hano in her. If they are in hano form they beat all the pure hanos at cross country. Try it, its great!default smiley :-))

In real life I like th cross breed - Paint and Arab. I think I might do it now...because I could put a DA on the Arab coat and put Paint markings on him. default smiley ;)

Dramajor- She is gorgeous! I bought a IH cross in the auctions a while back. He is a quarter paint and has only four stars(I think but I do get my horses mixed up sometimes.) may use a GA on him but right now I am working on his training. I have had him since he was a colt.
I am starting to get excited about breeding crosses. I breed purebred arabs and chincos but I think a cross of the two would be such fun and good for comps!default smiley :-)) Hopefully I will get one that looks chinco and has12 or more stars.default smiley :)

I'd love to see where all these lovely crosses would place in a ranking of their own. It's great to be able to look at all the pretties you all have posted here. I didn't know just how many great crosses were on the game. Sure wish we had a separate ranking for our crosses. default smiley ^)
Me too, the only filter now in place lets us see only the pure bred rankings separately. And only if you are looking at your own howrses.
I would love to see how my crosses rank against the other crosses.
I voted for your Idea, zepharo.default smiley :) I hope it gets realized

I agree Zepharo! I just started crossbreeding (and im in a group) and the only cross i have is a paint/qh but shes only 16* but im also breeding for highstarred crosses. But im working on my purebred so when i cross them the foals will be great. I am also gonna crossbreed Appys too. I try to aim for good competition horses but also for high skills and GP.

Thanks for making this forum Zepharo,
Pink

I may try Hano/Arab crosses but right now i'm trying to breed a horse that excels in everything. I know you must think I;m crazy but I have a plan.
I just got into cross breeding so we'll see how it goes. default smiley :)

Thanks Sunny!

I'm thinking of getting into some ih/morgan crosses so that I can have the //amazing// graphics default smiley ;)
Hasn't someone acheived a 23 star cross? I remember seeing one, but can't remember where.... default smiley (o)

hmm ive been thinking about trying IH/TB crosses for a while. though because the TB has low dressage, this would probably make the foal have lower dressage as well. im thinking of adding either paint or arab. probably paint so the horses speed and gallop GP will excel greatly default smiley :) trying for a X country or gallop comp horse sine they can bring in alot of money. what do you think? any tips?
Moon,

Paint and IH horses are a fab cross. They are also great breeds to use as foundations for crossbreeding.

I have a couple of those. Prefer to use paint to TBs as they have better dressage.

Just my thoughts.

hOrsElUvEr95 I love them! I just love how chincos look, including in the new grapics!I can't wait to get my first chinco cross! I have two crosses right now but the first mostly IH and the other is mostly paint. The paint I just got today and I believe he may be a good racer! He has 18*!default smiley :-))
By Retired breeder, 8th April 2010 00:28:27
Hmmmmm. I'll have to experiment with your cross ideas.
By Retired breeder, 8th April 2010 00:34:09
what is the best breed in gallop and what is the best breed in trot?
By Retired breeder, 8th April 2010 00:39:43
The best breeds in gallop are thoroughbreds... and maybe quarter horses? And for trot either Standardbreds, Hackneys or Freisians.. I don't remember though. default smiley ;)

thanks default smiley :d
cool topic. I have been looking for a "Friesian" crossbreed stud for kai Looking for 125+ speed and 120+ gallop GP or _anything_ even close where speed is higher than gallop. Please, please PM me if you can even point me in the general direction of somewhere to look for a stud like this. I'm willing to work out agreements with others.

I don't know if this counts.....
I breed arab/thoroughbreds, but that's pretty normal
By Retired breeder, 8th April 2010 02:32:47
that is still a cross, so it counts.
About the 20 first foals that my horse, Storm has sired where mostly crossbred between Arabs and Quarters (That's because i mainly had One Quarter mare and one Arabian mare.
