Thank you, dragoniys. I've got to figure out how to do that.

You're welcome darl
You need to go to your horses' page as though someone else is looking at them, otherwise it will only bring us to our own "my horses" page

On my old account, I was a crossbreeding junkie.
Does anyone else here breed crosses that excel in all areas? I tried that once, it was a wonderful horse. Not quite sure how many stars it had, probably 15 or so. |

My foundie mare is an Arab... I wonder if I should start crossing this early on. Arabs seem to be more well-rounded overall, but I like the dressage numbers on the IH's and Morgans...

I mainly just breed my horses for the heck of it. I them all. But sometimes I'll breed purebreds.

One thing that I did is a Hanoverian/Quarter Horse. Look at my horse Chase.

I plot my breeding combos in a spread sheet. It was way too confusing and time consuming otherwise. I find all category breeding to be fascinating and very challenging. It helps to use the best gp pure breds or cross breds that you can get. I spend way too much real money and equus to achieve my results.

Thanks for the nice comments about my lad (previous page). I'm only seeing them now as I was working on my next monster morgan, K-T Boundary. She's bolded at 1011 and I'll finish her and cloud her tomorrow. I love crossbreeds

I agree with you Dr Zig, someone told me they were mutts. Then I got really mad at them and told them I have some cross breeds that could beat your pure breds. Of course then that player stopped talking about them like that - and my best crosses died.

Aww! Im sorry chicken! I do admit to calling some of mine mutts , BUT i mean it as crossbred , not in a bad way!
|
There are a lot of mixed-breed horses out there that are mutts, where any old breed or combination of breeds seems to have been thrown together. They can be fun to try to blup, yet head-wrecking at the same time. The trick to cross-breeding, I suppose, is to identify the specific skill(s) that you want to be top and then mix compatible breeds.
I haven't tried yet but I would imagine that hanos and morgans would work well together. Both are really good in jump and the dressage boost that the morgan would bring to the mix would give you a very nice showjumper, if it was a hano-morgan rather than a morgan-hano. I very much like the mustang stallion with paint mare cross and have produced some fun horses with that, including my mare Trespass, who is unbeaten in 142 barrel races

Dr Zig, Soaring Eagle is one sweet cross.
I love cross breeding. Especially if I am trying to achieve a better howrse in a particular skill. It is so interesting to see how the numbers twist and turn. Trying to raise the trot levels in an all category howrse is rather challenging to do without losing other skills. I am hoping that I have that almost under control. It is such a balancing act to raise certain skills without causing the others to drop.

Thanks Clematis

I've found that Paint/Appy crosses (stally being appy) do very well in Gallop comp.s in general.
One of my Paint/Appy horses got all 20 wins before he was 5 Anyone else tried that cross? |

I think I would like to cross breed my arabians or quarter horses sometime. Just for the heck of it
Any other breeds go good crossing together with Arabians or Quarter Horses? |
Horses in all skills categories were originally referred to as the SuperMutt project before the event of them being on the game actually occurred
