The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I believe I tried NIB Thoroughbreds. I was never really vocal about it or part of a community on it though, I was new-ish (This is YEARS ago) so didn't really know about the NIB community, just did it to challenge myself.

Also if anyone needs, I have a foundation Marwari. Can't sell him as I don't have my original foundations for this account so he's become my foundie but...can use him for covers if anyone would like. Just PM me.

I know the feeling, I've managed finally with a few of mine, but others are struggling so hard for wins.

The silver lining of my university going completely online is that now I have an excuse to spend a bit longer on Howrse than I normally do so all of my projects are getting major boosts haha default smiley xd

Slowly getting 20 wins on my Holsteins!

That is true, at least you're not like some colleges/universities that are doubling to workload as well because they are online/distance learning!

It's so weird to think that sometimes it's hard to get wins on these newer gen foundations, but then I also have some original GP and then I'm like in comparison, so easy! lol

Storms Randsome I'm shocked lol. I didn't expect anyone to remember me. I mainly kept to myself aside from my team and some friends...I guess I was pretty active in the private EC forums too though. I never came into these forums.

I am looking for another set of Appaloosa foundies so that I can start my own NIB program. Does anyone happen to know where I can find some?

Hey default smiley :)

Havent played in a while and had to start a new account.

Just wondering how find foundation horses in sales?

I remember I used to use a figure that was lower than something and would fish out some. But I can’t for the life of me remember what the figure was or how to search for them now

Thank you!

It depends on what gp you want, old or new. Old Gps, look for under 352. Newer GPs, look under 5600.

I need foundations for a slightly unrelated project, but I can't find them anywhere, so I thought I'd ask here (sorry!).

I need a Criollo mare and a Lusitano stallion for a project, if anyone knows where I can find one, that would be great... I've only found one Criollo foundie in sales.

Again, I would not be asking here if I wasn't stuck.

I somehow have in my possession two foundation draft mares of different breeds (with covers remaining, I believe), as well as some French Trotters, if anyone wants to use those. I also have a few 350 GP's: a Connemara and a Haflinger, should anyone need those. I'm perfectly willing to lend them out.

I, myself, do not breed NIBs, but I sometimes hoard foundies, so if anyone wants anything...
Old GPs and new? What is this sorcery

Old GPs are pre-whatever year it was that they stopped giving starting players 350 GP foundies.
New GPs are anything after that.

So a little update:
French Trotters have been sold.

I am no longer looking for a Criollo, but I desperately need Lusitano covers. (Yes, there are foundies in public covers, but I'd prefer if I could get some from a dedicated breeder, so the horse has a lower chance of disappearing) I am looking for a New GP foundie, and whoever the owner is has to be active enough to reserve covers when I need them (literally two generations, and then I'll be breeding from my own stock).

Again, I would not be asking here if I wasn't struggling with finding a suitable horse, and since I know pretty much no one on this server, help would be appreciated. I'm kind of stuck as is.
I am willing to help fill races for those that need it. I use to do NIB breeding but stopped.
