The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

What does this green star mean? I've posted this question on the Game Play Forum as well and not gotten an answer. Since I am a purebred QH NIB breeder, I wanted to ask on here as well. Thank you for any response default smiley :)

Hey Jennifer,

So green stars were the first "excellence stars" in the game and each star was equal to one. Now we have red stars as well that equal ten. The first original GP foundations (the 350-351.20) were bred together to progress to having a NIB Green star foal. Sometimes it took generations, where now it might take just one generation.

For example your horse Pit Boss does not have any stars at all. https://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=9183890

His offspring here has two green stars
https://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=61043146

Your horse Black Betty has 340 stars
https://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=56900698

Hope that answers your questions!

I haven’t bred a horse for a long time so unfortunately I was surprised by the GP outcome of this first gen, but pleased it turned out to be a unicorn; I mostly get fails.

Sorry for the hiatus, guys. My real-life workload got really stupid for a while there; Plus I've been playing with real horses on my day off (started riding again after a 25-year break), which is when I usually visit the forum. Anyway, I've gathered up any new GPs posted since my last visit, and will send them to the mod who does the actual updating tonight.

Going back over posts it seems most are okay with including the generation to give better context to these GP numbers, so I will ask her to include that going forward.

There was some discussion about where a horse with both new and old GPs in the pedigree would fit in - the answer, which I believe came up back when we split the list to begin with, was that those horses would be listed in with the other rolling gains. I doubt that's going to come up often anyway, since the foal will most likely have a GP below that of its RG parent.

I've only had time to breed one NIB foal in the past month, but she's kinda nice.

Before I release them to the "public" was there anyone wanting/needing foundation Holsties? All up for grabs would be in my other horses tabs. I did message lbenedict15 about them and she didn't reply so I just wanted to double check with everyone else.

So Jennifer Rice asked me if we had a list of NIBbers somewhere. I know that someone has had prior lists put together somewhere... Would it help if we possibly created another forum in someone's EC to keep track of other NIBBers? I also know that there aren't a lot of us left, active or otherwise especially with the OGs.

Asfridur made the original list. I have it on my EC but it is overdue for an update. Y'all are more than welcome to post your names with what you are breeding/updates/etc or anything else if you would like. Once a few have posted, I'll update the list.

I’m looking for a purebred Barb female, she doesn’t have to be foundation, a NIB foal is ok too (so long as both parents were blupped before being bred).

Is anyone selling any 350 gp (100 blup) foundations right now?

I feel like this should be a more common thing on this website, as I'm pretty sure you can't do it in reality, but then again, it is just a game.
I have two foundies with 3410 GP... is this normal? They have a higher GP than my most popular unicorn stud (who isn't a foundie and has just under 3100 GP)

I have several RG Morgans that have the same GP. So it's likely that they're Rolling Gain Unis.

Yes, the originals are 350-351.2 and then rolling gain has GP anywhere from a few hundred up to just over 5000 now for some breeds.

Anyone needing 350 Hanos on the US account?

Some have GAs, some are already blupped and others are plain with no wins yet. PM me here or on the US account (same user name).

I really think NIBing would survive if the game designers added one small addition to the sales choices. If we could look up horses for sale that were born from Ouranous and Gaia - Foundation horses.

That is the most frustrating thing - I have to hunt for horses sometimes and it is like looking for a needle in a haystack - especially if they are RG. Every once in a while a person will put foundation in the name of the horse. Or if they are original foundations you can look them up by the genetic potential of 350. But good luck otherwise!

@EmmaHaven
It was seriously a miracle that I found my mare in the sales! I had been searching for a few days and she was the cheapest I could find for equus only without a ton of BMIs (at like a little over 100,000e I think which yikes still). OG foundies in the sales are ridiculously expensive it's crazy!
