Well...

I do think they removed the feathering to add the leg wraps. default smiley :$

When we voted, we all thought we were getting the beautiful coats from the horse parade. Not so, apparently. I was looking forwards to this. Now... well, not so much. default smiley :(

I love the tekes, and curlies.
The rest? Uh... not so much. It won't make me stop playing, I will just be disapointed.
Has anyone noticed the changes to the chincoteague pony? default smiley :'(

I think they should make.... MULES on Howrse.... I like mules... but then they would have o coverings because mules cant reproduce. And it would have to be a jenny donkey (female) and a stallion to make a mule... Like in real life... If you do it the other way around then it would be a hinny. Which is a pony sized backwards mule... Sorry.. I love my mules.... default smiley *-)

Yes, I had already known this. Remember that you are supposed to get a competition bonus for having matching tack. How are you supposed to do this without any tack? Do you realize that not everybody voted to have the tack? I know the majority did, but I am not part of that whole.default smiley ;)

Let's put it this way... You can't please every individual person. Just like, in elections, You can't have two presidents (Or whatever the position is) just because some people voted for another. There was only one option... Yes or No. Since most of the players wanted Yes, that would be how it got in place. You can't serve two masters. Therefore, the majority vote would rank higher than the lesser one. If the majority of players had voted no, then he answer would have been no. Howrse was giving us what most of them wanted. To help most of the people is better than causing strife by *attempting* to give everyone what they want.
My personal opinion, please don't take offense, I didn't mean any.default smiley 8-)

NMHORSELOVER: then dont play horsie dress up. Easy.SImple.
And with the matching combo points I belive you mean the bonuses.

put the tack on,disable the "show tack" so you dont have a dressed up horsie, done.
And the bonuses will probably will be similiar to the ones current saddle, bridle gives.
The only combo-points I seen be given to horse for its matching tack is in the promo and I doubt the normal tack willl work the same as the parades.

I must certainly will not be participating in this new aspect of the game. I am aware I don't have to. I just think it is entirely pointless and worthless feature to add. More time should have been spent on more important features such as the art for the new coats. This is not something I feel will add the slightest value to the game.

NM- I don't see anyone forcing you to do so...it is not mandatory, Howrse is indeed giving you the courtesy to choose. They could do worse - they *could* make it mandatory. But they're not, so let's be grateful and look positive

No one is forcing anyone? No, not quite the truth I am under the impression that we will have to buy and assemble the matching tack ect to gain the bonuses. I see that as being foced. I don't want to have to wasted my time assembling tack that I won't see and having to make sure it matches. I have more important things to do. I am in no way compelled to be 'grateful' for the 'service' they are doing by making the tack not necessary. They need to keep their players happy in some way. I doubt forcing us all to make our horses wear tack would do that.

Write this down, kids.

The matching tack/bonuses will end up becoming pass items. Mark my words. We currently have only one tack option in the black market. Anyone who thinks Howrse won't be adding "special" leg wraps, bonnets, etc to the black market does not know how this game works.

Ummm... I never herd anything about "Matching tack" in the game. That was only for the Horse Parade promo, because Promo aside, we don't win bonuses that way. I may be wrong, so if I am, I'm sorry.

Some people are very happy about this new update (And it appears that the majority of players were, considering that it was voted on) and so, yes, I would consider it a "service" to most everyone. Obviously, everyone can't be pleased, out of over 50,000 players.

Please, let's *try* to be thankful?
Howrse *is* trying to improve the game. Probably the younger players will enjoy it. I'm not telling you not to complain. Don't get me wrong. I don't like these new coats very much. (Excluding the teke and curly.)

Its just that howrse *is* trying to help, even if its not what we wanted/pictured. Can we give them *a little* credit?

Aren't people entitled to their opinions? I don't want to start a fight or anything, but everyone has their own opinion, and this topic is where people can express what they think of things possibly coming to Howrse. So NMHORSELOVER apparently cannot express their opinion...along with anybody who doesn't like dress up... myself included.

On the other hand, was it really voted on? I must have missed that. default smiley :s Oh well.

Yes, because they already have something like that, I don't see why they won't. I also don't see why it's such a big deal. It IS optional, so you obviously don't have to do it.

Diversification of the tacks

Then we will bring even more realism by introducing new types of tacks: the saddle cloth, the bonnet and the leg wraps. This will provide more diversity on the game.
Each of these new tack items will exist in several colors and patterns. So you will have a lot of possibilities to customize your horses and get very unique ones!

The saddle cloth will become compulsory in order to enter competitions, in addition to the saddle and the bridle. Yet the bonnet and the leg wraps will be optional that way you don’t have to buy too many items of tacks for every single horse.
And you won’t have to give them horseshoes any more. Indeed horseshoes can’t be customized much to the contrary of the other tack items. So they don’t really need to be displayed on horses. Thus, we have decided they will only remain as a bonus offered by the farrier of an equestrian center, making the farrier more interesting at the same time. Be sure that you won’t lose anything: you will receive a compensation for the horseshoes you and your horses have.

Like the already available tack items, the new ones will also give a skill bonus to the horses that wear them. And we are considering correcting the skill bonus of the existing tacks in order to offer the same bonus in all 6 skills. That way, there won’t be a competition which will be favored more than the others.
Even better, if your horses wear a saddle cloth, a bonnet and leg wraps which have a common color, then they will get an additional skill bonus. Try to find the best associations to both get the highest bonuses and have the best-looking horses!

No, it is NOT optional for those of us with Prix and Rosette horses. We will have to spend even MORE passes to get good rankings. It's bad enough that you now have to use BMI tack, some of which is only available through exchanges, have a falla, be in a +10 bonus EC, have all of the stall bonuses, and element, a GA, and m.blood, plus 20 pieces of cloud with lessons in a 60e center.

A finished prix horse won't be worth selling as we can only charge 20 passes right now, and it very well could cost more than that to make one with additional BMI tack bonuses.

A simple question - do copyright laws prohibit Howrse from using an image that even remotely looks like the breed it is named after? That can be the only explanation plausible for the unrecognizable images you have drawn, with the exception of the Fjord.

If this is the case, I would be more than happy to turn over pictures taken by myself of about 15 of these breeds, which I will happily, eagerly, give to the game free of charge. Perhaps someone employed by Howrse could show the images to their teenage child - oh heck, preteen child, with a smidge of artistic ability, to then render a drawing that could not help but be more recognizable than the ones you have come up with on your own.

I think you bring up a really good point about copyright. I'm sure Owlient could purchase stock images to use as references but given all the other pictures of horses floating around the internet, what are the chances that a more realistic coat isn't going to look like one or more of them purely by coincidence? That leaves the company open to copyright infringement lawsuits... Maybe it's not worth the trouble (?) Who knows though, I'm just speculating default smiley (lol)

Retired breeder wrote:

.why do you think that players don't complain about the Teke's?

Lol I do (although I like to think it's more constructive criticism than 'complaining'). To me the front leg looks stumpy and the chest seems a bit too chunky for the teke breed XD
