Hi to you too, Ginseng.

And I do too.
~Callisto~,

First: the tack is not a MUST.You can choose to not show it/add it on horse if you dont like it.
And the second: THe tack is getting in because people votred for it. Soyes.Howrse is doing something people wanted.

Yes, I had already known this. Remember that you are supposed to get a competition bonus for having matching tack. How are you supposed to do this without any tack? Do you realize that not everybody voted to have the tack? I know the majority did, but I am not part of that whole.

I have no idea, but these ten passes on my account aren't going to last long enough to buy a Treasure Chest unless it is in the BM soon.

Yes, but not ever player wants to play horsey dress up or waste resources on such a feature. I would have rather seen something else come to the game . Yes it is optional but it will still be an annoyance.

I think I missed the voting for the tack. I remember the voting for the new coats, but not the voting for tack.

Actually, I don't think Howrse gave us an option to vote for tack. I could be wrong, as I took a break from the game for awhile.
They did indeed have voting for the tack it was just like the voting for the new coats .

Goodness knows that I would never play dress up with my horses unless literally forced to do so. And even then I'd probably try and find some way to make the task less mindless and mornoic, like put on a play or make a movie or something.

I just really dont like how most of the new horse designs are anatomically incorrect...

Oh the QH is awful. Its all out of proportion!
NMHORSELOVER: then dont play horsie dress up. Easy.SImple.
And with the matching combo points I belive you mean the bonuses.

put the tack on,disable the "show tack" so you dont have a dressed up horsie, done.
And the bonuses will probably will be similiar to the ones current saddle, bridle gives.
The only combo-points I seen be given to horse for its matching tack is in the promo and I doubt the normal tack willl work the same as the parades.

The thoroughbred graphic I saw posted here had a blurry head. I have spent most of my life around thoroughbreds, in one way or another, and I have never yet seen one with a blurry head default smiley :p

I find that most of their heads are not sized correctly. Personally, I don't see a need to change the coats. They`re fine as is. But if they are going to change them, at least take the time to make them look right.

I agree with Phoenix.

NM- I don't see anyone forcing you to do so...it is not mandatory, Howrse is indeed giving you the courtesy to choose. They could do worse - they *could* make it mandatory. But they're not, so let's be grateful and look positive. default smiley ;)

Frankly, I don't see how this criticism is constructive or HOW this supports anything Howrse is planning on bringing in.

Ha ha! Same here. I've spent my whole life around Quarter Horses (and a few others) and have yet to see a horse that looks even remotely like Howrse's.
I agree about the vanners they need to add way more mane, tail and feather. I own a beautiful Gypsy vanner mare and she looks just like the current image of a GV. Like the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

I don't think that people voted for the coats to be "murdered" in order to fit a tack on it. It pains me to look at those friesians and vanners that lack the feathers...and the mane and the tail...they should have been richer...Anyone saw a vanner without feathers? We will, because they had to be drawn not like they actually look like, but in a certain way to make them fit all parts of the tack on them...sad...

So no, people didn't vote for that...why do you think that players don't complain about the Teke's? Because they actually look good...people are stating their opinion and giving criticism about features that are actually bad. Like the vanners and the friesians, that will receive a haircut. Personally this is my biggest issue...I don't care about the tack, because I understand that I can choose not to see it on the horse, but it really bothers me that beautiful coats became a joke...default smiley (n)

Well said^^^^
LaveeX: I agree that the coats-all of them-could have been much better done, but i dont belive it was the tack that destroyed te coats. We can vote to get upgraded coats(and that is what we did; the issue is we voted for only few chosen ones to be changed not all of them). And since people liked the style and the coats in the previous parade and voted yes (most of them does it seems ) howrse decided to upgrade all of them.
If they updated only the chosen ones the rest of the horses would look extremly wierd compared to the newer ones.so why not upgrade all of them at once?

On another note:

However...I wish they was better drawn indeed... Im tired of identical poses, same 3/4 head view and wierd broken necks with heads that look too big (or as big as the neck itself).
For that to happen Howrse would have to hire new artist. But I doubt they will do it now when the bigger part of the horse coats are already half-done.So I guess we have to eat the lemon and stick with it until the next upgrade...

I strongly believe that was the reason why some breeds lack the feathers...nothing else makes sense...why else remove the feathers...when they are like a signature for the vannes? Seriously...I think that when anyone thinks of a vanner, long, rich mane/tail and beautiful feathers comes in mind...So yeah, that's what I believe it happened. But then again, it's only my opinion.

And yeah, I am fully aware that nothing will change...no matter how much we dislike it, if Howrse wants it to happen, it will. They don't really listen to what we say and want so i know that no matter what we say, it won't make a difference...but just to celebrate the democracy we are still living in (or at least I hope we do lol) I thought I will speak my mind.
