and Festivities

The Great Challenge is back, and this time it will be followed by the Treats Battle.

How to play?

As usual, this contest takes place in two parts:

The Great Challenge phase: Collect horseshoes by completing in-game objectives.

The Festivities (Treats Battle) phase: Catch UFOs and decide to keep the gift (and lose points), send it to another player (and gain points), or spend Equus for a chance at a different UFO.

Note: there are no divine fragments in the daily objectives during this contest.

Part 1: The Great Challenge

Click to display
Collect Horseshoes: Every day, perform various actions to collect up to 100 horseshoes. 120 if you have bought the Premium Key.

Unlock Gifts: As you gather horseshoes, you'll unlock awesome gifts at certain thresholds, like game items, fragments and more.

Special Jackpots: Keep an eye out for the free Jackpot and other bonuses that await.

Community Goals: When you claim a gift, you also contribute to a community goal. Achieving this goal means more UFOs for everyone in the upcoming Battle!

Premium Key

Click to display
Buy the Premium Key with Passes to access:

Marvelous Premium Gifts: Gain access to exclusive gifts.

Extra Horseshoes: Increase your daily horseshoe limit to 120, helping you to catch up or to get ahead faster.

Buy the Premium Key early for maximum benefit, but remember, it's never too late!

The gifts that have been unlocked but not claimed during the Great Challenge part are automatically given when the Festivities start.

Jackpots

Free - Hermes' Winged

Staff

It allows you to use the Black Market's item of your choice for free, regardless of its value in passes.

Premium - Raven

Companions wake up during your horse's first action of the day. And they fall asleep when your horse ages. Raven gives a bonus of +14 in Trot.

New divine:

Romanticism

Throughout the contest, you can find fragments of the new divine horse Romanticism from the Art History Horses series.

Part 2: The Treats Battle

Click to display
The Festivities will start right after the Great Challenge ends.

Catch UFOs: During the festivities, your task is to catch UFOs in three daily sessions, with the number of UFOs based on your horseshoe collection.

Make Choices: After catching a UFO, decide to keep the gift (and lose points), send it to another player (and gain points), or spend Equus for a chance at a different UFO.

The value of the UFO's content affects the points you win or lose. You can wait to decide but can't catch new UFOs until you choose.

Bonus Items: Win bonus points by using items earned from horse competitions, friends' help, or your participation in the Great Challenge.

Climb the Ranks: Accumulate points to rise in the rankings, unlocking gifts associated with your rank and those below.

Mobile version

The mobile version is available for this contest.

To avoid compatibility issues, we recommend you play on the mobile version (if you want to play on a mobile device).

We wish you good luck in both phases!

The problem with the art series is that it isn't consistent, it's very ranged. I had one drop after 45 days, but other people have reported waiting over 100 days for the drop.

If we were to say that the average was 70 days per h gift, it wouldn't be that bad for the prize. The problem is the massive range and the fact you could go weeks without finding a piece.

So, looking at my seven Pops, five are working on their second, while two are working on their third. The second and sixth ones are the ones working on their third, with second being won one day after the first, while the sixth was won five days after the first. Their second drops were the 25th of October and the 10th of October, with them currently being at 3/17 and 6/17 respectfully.

The closest one to their second drop is the first one, who is 14/17, with their only drop being on the 11th of August, while the furthest ones away are 11/17 and are numbers three, four, and five, dropping for the first time on the 27th of August, 1st of September, and the 6th of September.

In short, very ranged, especially for how close the dates are that they were won.

That is a pretty wide range, but with Pop Art released in June only getting a single drop in 5 months (2 if you're REALLY lucky) on a single-use breeding item is definitely not a good drop rate.

I guess it's possible they fixed it for Romanticism, but I'm not willing to spend the passes on just the hopes they did so.

Why is "enter the Grand Prix" an objective for this every day when it doesn't run on weekends? default smiley (n)

it doesn't matter. just do other things. what would they change it to? you don't need to do all of the obj to get the points. you could enter 100 comps and get all the points. if you do that try focusing on the ones you get more points for winning. this is what i do. takes me 10 minutes. i've not donated any horses or used any bmi's or tack.

Same here. And it 'takes' me no time either, because I just do my daily things and at some point the 100 horseshoes are there.

I do understand the question though, they could easily exchange the GP objective for something else in the weekends.

Thanks ravenknight!! But are the extra proces worth the 600 passes?

'Worth it' is an opinion, but if you check the Black Market the Key prizes will equal around 850 passes and that doesn't take into account the prizes like the companions, pass seeds and Samurai tack which you can't buy in the BM, you have to wait for them to be prizes in an event.

In addition, like sfts said on page 1, it will be different whether you're a starting player or someone with a gigantic item inventory.

I'm already having my doubts about four, as UK and AU are already working towards their third, yet we are still over 7k off finishing second. How is this fair? Int almost never gets the fourth, so at what point is it going to be accepted that the goal is just too big for the server? I know it's only the third day, but 10/21 prizes would have been won by free players who have kept up, that's almost half. With that in mind, we should realistically be working on the third.

Personally, I just wish they would do away with it and make it 3 or 4 from the start, and then have the goal be something along the lines of earning free bonuses for the battle and extra tickets for the lottery. This way the entire server is not missing out on a quarter of the prizes just because they couldn't reach an unreachable goal.

What is the goal for the thrid then?
Sounds like we might not even get that one.

I feel like we used to unlock 4 when it was about horseshoe collection, but then they switched it to collected prizes when they introduced the Key in order to put the 4th goal behind a paywall and make it so people who don't drop the 600 passes aren't "contributing" or whatever.

Really in the spirit of the thing it *should* be based on horseshoes so everyone can pitch in equally in my opinion, then it would feel more like working together and not like "oh well unless you can pay a whole bunch of passes you're not doing your share"

Especially when it's been noted that the 4th goal isn't an incentive for people to buy the Key, since we literally NEVER hit it. So I don't see what the point is to keeping this up. It doesn't sell more Keys.

I agreed. If i could buy 600 passes right now i would because i like prizes and cute ravendefault smiley (lol) but for people playing for free or cheap…it can be bit steep. I get passes from quartz, zaldia, objectives and wilds and chimeras from when i bought passes and sometimes the wind divines.

I think they do it on purpose, to be honest. Sometimes it's attainable, and sometimes they purposely set it too high to not be attainable.

What is the community objective thing in with the event

Even when it was horseshoes, we barely reached it. In fact, I could probably count on one hand the amount of times this server has reached four across both versions.

I think the problem with this version as a whole is that there is this expectation of more people being able to afford the key on the big versions, as sales are very active, so the goal is set to reflect that. However, loads of players who can afford it usually don't consider the key prizes worth it, so don't spend.

The timing also doesn't help, with loads of people saving at this particular time. An event like the great challenge would be better suited for just after Christmas, where people would be more likely to 'treat themselves' with the passes they have.

I guess my frustration comes from this server always being the one that gets a lot less out of this particular event. UK and AU, more often than not, reach their goal, yet INT almost always comes up short.

The community objective will pertain to the Festivities that follow the Great Challenge, which is the UFO battle.

During the Battle, new UFOs will spawn every 8 hours. If we reach level 4 of the community objective we will get 8 UFOs. Level 3 only spawns 3 UFOs. The UFOs contain items that we can either keep (and lose points in the UFO ranking), or send away to another player (and earn points in the UFO ranking). 4 gifts is definitely better than 3.

The bottom of the Great Challenge page shows the Community Objective progression. The goals for each level we need to reach is determine by the number of prizes we players win during the Great Challenge. To reach level 4 the community has to get another 54,000 gifts. Which is possibly out of reach, given that the majority of gifts of won during the early days of the Great Challenge, and we're now in the slower stages.

At some point, probably. That said, we only know what is shared through test and spoilers. Items don't tend to be rereleased until several months after their first release at the earliest.

I've been wondering for a while why we never seem to unlock the community objectives anymore. When did they change it from horseshoes collected to prizes obtained? That seems a ridiculous change considering how few players are willing to spend on the pass.

It'll be more clear once the Battle starts. Every 8 hours you catch a UFO, then decide to keep it or send it away. If you keep the item, you lose ranking points, and if you send it away you get points. We get at least 3, possibly (yet unlikely) 4, UFOs in this 8 hour period. Once you choose what to do with the UFO item, the next one spawns fairly quickly, so it will only take a few minutes to do.

There is a special UFO ranking during the event that has prizes for different placings

It actually does matter, this event has been here for years and it shows how developers dont even care about you and just wants your money, if there is a bug for several years its not actually a good thing sweetie default smiley 8-) default smiley 8-)

It also matters what the main prize is.
If the free main price is Zebra, and the payed main price Jenny, then spending 600 passes does give you 2 extra Divines (Jenny & Zonkey). A deal like that would be intresting for me, as it is a guaranteed 'get'.

But a bird companion is not worth 600 pass to me.

it's NOT a bug. since there is NO need what soever to enter a horse in the grand prix to get the points there's no need to switch it. if it was absolutely necessary to enter the GP to get the points then yeah they'd change it but there's 8 other ways to get points. so who cares if you can't get the points from the GP get them another way.

I like the raven hope its a real pet at nighttime. I would pay passes if i was buying passes right now mostly for philosophers stone, harmony pack, tychee crown, pass seeds, raven custom clip and iris coat. Somewhat for samurai tack, aging points needs to be more, etc. for raven itself with minor prizes ill wait until its more common in sales etc
