[Info] Cross breeders
Hi all
I'm new to crossbreeding but I've dabbled in it a few times. I'm interested in trying to produce some skillers but I'm also fine with just seeing how go and skills turn out with each generation. Nokota×Quarter Horse on a whim I bred a purebred quarter horse with a purebred nokota and the foal actually came out with really good high gp and skiller potential.

Hey guys, I don't crossbreed but if you want high skilled foals I can cover your mares with my lusitano stallions. The highest I have right now is 14k GP. I only buy purebred and when it isn't purebred I sell it after I'm done with it

I've never crossbred before but I'd like to maybe do one with Gypsy Vanners + something else. Do you guys have any fun/good combinations for that?
|
If I remember right, on one of my old accounts I bred a gv with a akelteke but I don't remember what happened genetics or skills wise
|
Alright. Jamie is a good horse but I want to make more monsters with high GP. I don't want any more Selle or Mustang but what else is a good breed/breeds or Speed? I don't know if I want to make a 3 or 4-way foal. Any thoughts would be amazing.
|
Not exactly sure where top GPs are for any of these, but all these breeds have speed in their top 3 skills: 1st: Fjord, Mustang, Brumby, Paint, PSH, Chincoteague, Appaloosa 2nd: Highland Pony, Thoroughbred, Standardbred, P. Paso, Shetland, Selle, Austrailian Pony, Hanoverian, Newfoundland pony 3rd: Quarter Pony, Criollo, Morgan, KWPN, Marwari, Quarter horse, Welsh

Thank you Ride25. Now I have to find a cover from the 1st group

I'm slowly taking over the speed ranking for Gypsy Vanners My twins here were the first two Gypsies to reach 4k in speed skills!

Yeah actually! I'm a new player, but I crossbred my half paint half standardbred with a Gypsy vanner, resulting in one of the most promising skillers I have so far, and a few horses with decent GP. |
Merry Christmas Eve all! Just getting back into the swing of the game. I'm interested in creating a Monster line involving GV. Haven't picked my extra crosses just yet but hoping to have some fun with this. Happy to be back, lots of new faces!

Heyyy
I want to breed a horse that would be good for competitions, a competition horse. I breed Lipizzans and was wondering which breed should I cross my mare with, also according to her skills and genetics. Here she is: Esperanza I was thinking any of these: Selle Francais, Marwari, or Lusitano. Are there any others that would be good, or any of the ones listed above? Thanks for your help. |
Selle Francais is the top GP currently so it would help draw up your GP quickly to cross to as high of a stallion as you could. I honestly enjoy crossbreeding into multiple breeds and toying with the new stats from those mixes. Just used a very nice SF mare to create some much higher GP'd other breeds (TB, mustang, GV) for some potential comp monsters and for my Dark N Twisted Ones program.
I look forward to seeing what mix you come up with LadyLiz!

I have bred GV w/ TN Walkers before, result quite skillerd, but AP tears and training helped.

I have been playing with the cross breeding and have some excellent skillers
Gypsy/ TB cross King of the Gypsies 15361 https://www.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=58486775 Lusitono Ectoplasm 13977 skills https://www.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=57543255 Not a cross breed But has throw out some high skillers Memphis Dreamer Appy 17986 skills / Gen 13668 https://www.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=59948576 If you are looking to collect some appy coats he is your boy and produces some amazing foals I am thinking of crossing him with a Nokota currently I have been breeding him with my HIgh Skilled Appy Mare and getting some high skillers But hey if you see a std you like or ant to try send me a message all my high skillers are listed under High Sires of Mystical realms
|
I'm looking for a breed to breed with my Selle Français horses.
What you suggest? I'm looking for good trot and/or gallop skills.
|
Peruvian Pasos have high trot, and thoroughbreds have high gallop.
|
Very excited about my latest set of twins
Twin 1 The dam was an especially fun one to bring up, just need to commit to actually finish out some of my skillers to max age but so easily distracted Have this nice mutt open for breeding as well, he often has public coverings up but if you don't see any feel free to message me for one: Flip Side

I got a QH with Mustang
25.0% Selle Français 25.0% Appaloosa 25.0% Quarter Horse 25.0% and plan to cover with this Mare Selle Français 25.0% Appaloosa 25.0% Quarter Horse 25.0% Mustang 25.0% Both are Qh's so I needed to ask will the foals be QH's? Thanks for your time
|
I believe so. When % is the same it should go off the stallion.
|
I've done lots of tests with even percentage crosses like this, and excluding the few glitches/anomolies that crop up, a foal produced from parents that share all the same breeds like that, with the same percentage should take the dam's last listed breed, which is Mustang, if the bottom horse is the mare. I haven't bred any 4ways for awhile, so you may want to do a test foal before you use breeding items.

Oooh how interesting!

Question:
A horse has 100 BLUP, but only fully trained in the top 3 skills. Shouldn't I want all the skills as high as possible to maximize the potential in crossbreeding? I train all my horses all the way up, because I'm trying to create a horse that has high skills in every category. Or should I not be bothering with the bottom three skills? My ArabianxThoroguhbred mixes are showing some promise, and I want to make the most of it. Thanks! Em

Only Blup and GP of the parents will affect the foal. Skills have no effect, whether you're crossbreeding or focusing on purebreds. The skills of your horses do affect your general ranking if that's something you're interested in. Continuing to train won't hurt in that regard
