The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Sorry about that post; just looked at your mare and saw that she's a RG foundation horse, and my stallions are Original foundations.

For anyone else looking for an original foundation cover, I'm available to contact.

lucky duck. I keep hunting for them when I can, but its so hard to find Dons. Not sure I'll ever have enough for a really good project with them.

And is it just my imagination or have friesian foundies gotten harder to find lately too?

Tell me about it. I have no idea just WHY their so difficult to find. I even decided to get a Rán to hopefully get a Don every blue moon.

I had hoped that howrse would give us Pastry divine that offer Dons, but for some reason they have decided to close that series with the Chocolate pastry divine.
At least with the pastry divine, we would have had a chance to potentially get one Don from each breeder selling them.

Friesian are indeed another breed that are impossible to find. Also Welsh are hopeless.

It's so frustrating when you NIB them

Never thought there would be a time where starter breeds would be hard to find. Like the Friesian and the Welsh. At one point back in the day, I thought Friesians were a lot easier to NIB than Appies.

I have a RG Thoroughbred filly I am planning on blupping and breeding. So I am looking for a stallion to get a covering from once she is old enough and blupped. Being that she is the only TB I have I would be willing to let her go if anyone has better use for her.

Also looking for Quarter Pony stallions, either to purchase or to get coverings. I have to double check but I believe they are RG? If anyone knows of someone that breeds them or has one for sale, any leads would be greatly appreciated

Also, does anyone have any updated NIB breeders list?
I think Twinjodi has one in her forum? There are definitely lists kicking around out there. Is there a particular breeder or person who breeds dedicated breeds you're looking for?

I just wanted to see who is still doing it and who is new. I used to do quite a few breeds but took a 2 year break from the game so kinda starting over now
Yes, Twinjodi has the most up to date breeder list. Lots of new interest, and many getting more active. It's great to see some rebound in the NIB world!

Hi just wondering if a Gaia x Ouranos foal us classed as a NIB horse?
Southern Babe

As it says above, yes, foals from Ouranos and Gaia are classified as first generation foals, and have no repeated ancestors in their pedigree besides those two. Any horse that doesn't have a horse repeated as an ancestor is NIB.
