First let me say that I know American stock horses very well. I had a Quarter Horse, I was in 4-H in the horse project, did judging and knowledge comps. I helped my cousin with her Paint horse breeding business and showing. So I know what I'm talking about. They so messed up the conformation of the Paints, Quarter Horses, Appys and Argentineans to the point it makes me sick. The back is NEVER that long! The poor horses could never move without being in pain. The general rule in horse judging for at least the first 3 of these 4 breeds is that the top line from point of withers to point of croup needs to be 3/4 the length of the underside. Also the shoulder and croup are way too sloped resulting in a very short choppy stride and weak hindquarters, but then with that insanely long back, these horses couldn't move anyway. Sure the colors and the head are pretty nice, but that's it. Here's an outtake on the balance section of how these stock horses are supposed to be direct from the AQHA judging book. I only wish I could include a picture with this.

"Nothing is more critical to balance than slope of the shoulder. Slope of
shoulder changes when the angle of the shoulder is increased or decreased.
Not only does the top to bottom line ratio of the neck change, but the ratio
of the length of back to length of underline also changes. It is ideal to have a
short top line and a long underline of the body. A long back coincides with
the short neck of the straight-shouldered horse. In addition to overall
balance, slope of shoulder influences length of stride. The straightshouldered
horse will also be shallow-hearted, as measured from the top of
the withers to the chest floor. Unlike the balanced horse whose legs are
approximately the same length as its depth of heart, the straight-shouldered
horse’s legs will be longer than its depth of heart."

I like them, my only real constructive criticism is that I just think that the manes and tails need more shading or something, to me they look like dull blobs of color on their necksdefault smiley 8-)

OMG The feathering is aweful. It looks like they're wearing boots! There's no gradual growth into them and the color doesn't even match the coat color. They look like those big hairy winter boots you could buy in the 1980s that resembled sasquatch or wookie feet. It's all I can look at, ugh! Plus their bodies look too heavy for what they really are. I know they're close to a draft horse, but yet they're not that heavy. They're supposed to be athletic.

I know I've had some very negative things to say about some of the coats, so I'll say some good things here. The Akhal-Teke is perhaps the best coat of all of them. Very nice. The Arab is decent, though I wish the face had the telltale dish. The Knabstrupper is much better than it was though it looks like so many others now. The Shetland is halfway decent though not as cute and cuddly as they were. The warmbloods are much better, they actually look like horses now. What I miss most, is hair. All the horses got military haircuts and it's sad, especially for the breeds that are known for their manes and tails. Can't say anything good about any of the foals though, sorry. Makes sense in a way that the Europeans would do well with European and Eastern horses and not American horses.

I like your gypsies, they look nice even the feathering.

To me the TB looks like a QH should look. All TBs I see on the circuit are pretty lean, not stocky.

Are the donkeys going to look different? Or is it only the horses?

pretty sure the donkey's aren't changing, but who knows? i think it's because these are so we can show the tack on them, and generally speaking, donkey's don't wear tack like horses do, as they are mainly used only for kids to ride as they are so much smaller

I love the Paint/QH/Appy coat, but I'd like to see just a few changes. I think a slightly shorter back and the front legs straightened out would do them some good. Just my opinion default smiley (y)

I love the heads of the Paint/Appy?QH's new looks, waay more the the one before them, however the backs are too long. I like the definition though. Just shorten the backs and all would be well default smiley :)
