the first horse i ever rode was my dapple gray/white quarter horse. His name was Casper.
My parents got him for my 2nd birthday, and that's when i rode a horse for the first time.

I rode a black Shetland Pony stallion named Sir William when I was four years old.
I can't remember much of it but apparently he was extremely docile for an unbroken stallion...

Hunter. He was my mother her horse. He was very kind and big. I rode him not very well, I only sit on him. My first real ride was on Kitty. She is my own horse.
(I'm sorry for my bad English. I'm from Holland ) |
Bob, a chestnut welsh cross who bit everything he could get near He had had a traumatic past though, and had been abandoned at livery. My yard decided to keep him c:

My first (and only time riding a horse) was riding a horse named Ricky. My sister rode a pony named Rocky with me. Sadly. I don't have much experience with horses, except for seeing them at the county fair and seeing them at my friends' houses.

The first horse I actually rode by myself with free will was named Cookie. He was a dark bay Quarter Horse that my friend had as a roping horse. He was so slow and always kept his head down so low when we would walk it felt like he had no head. It was years and years ago but I remember he had the smoothest canter.

The first horse I remember riding was when I was eight. He was a 24 year-old Appaloosa gelding named, Marshall. This is his pedigree --> http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/marshall+field2
He was so seasoned in the W. Pleasure show circuit that you could go into a class on the rail and he understood the announcer's commands for walking, jogging, loping, etc. It was awesome. We gave him away to two little girls a few years after I started riding. There is a picture of me when I was a baby riding a Shetland Pony named Bert, but I don't actually remember that. I DO remember that he lived to be 54 years old!!! |
