The first horse that I sat on was called Amber and the first horse that I properly rode was my sisters pony daisy. I still have her! But Amber has sadly died.

Dante, and he was very well named. First half of the trail ride he gets spooked by an emu and I had to jump out of the saddle before I fell off. In the second half he just wouldn't do a thing I asked, and it was so embarrassing because we were miles behind the rest of the group because he didn't want to walk as fast as them. In hindsight, definitely not a beginner's pony, which was a shame as it put a real dent in my confidence because I thought I was just a terrible rider and didn't try again for years after.

She's about 18 now, half blind and has breathing problems but still going strong! She still has plenty of years ahead of her, a happy, well earned retirement.
I remember being so happy when she got round the ride (1 hour in a big field) without coughing, she wasn't/isn't my favourite but she's got a special little place in my heart.
The first horse I cantered on was Sandie (I think!), she's a lil' sweetie bless her.
The first horse I jumped with was Paris! She's my favourite in the yard, has been for the past 6 years and always will be default smiley (l)

I didn't know her name at the time- bust she was grey, I was young at the time, so I assumed that meant she was old. Hence the name Old Grey. Now, I know that her name is actually Starlight and she's only 16. default smiley (a)
Pat who was a gentle gelding that we had. He was a light palomino. He died in the beginning of November 2014. I am so sad.default smiley :(
