Just realized that I don't remember what he was called haha. But the first horse who's name I can remember was Charlie. An old new forest pony, imported to Sweden from England. He passed away a few years back. Sweet little chap. Most terrible and uncomfortable trot ever but his canter was ridiculously smooth.

The first horse I sat on was a horse in a pony ride in some carnival thing, but I only have a pic of it. My first memory (but probably not the first horse I rode) is Hedgehog a small dapple grey pony that loved carrots.

An 25 year old mare named Pac'N. She was very spritely

He was a 15 year old dark sorrel QH Gelding by the name of Ruby Joe. Mutual friends of my parents had a son (Ken) who owned this horse. I was only 4 years old an I loved every minute of it being so high up in the air with Ken leading the way...
It really makes me sad to see where this family and gorgeous horse use to live....all of it's gone and there now stands a Credit Union an a Holiday Inn...

2 days after coming home from the hospital after I was born I sat on my grandmas 17yr old arab gelding named comet who she had raised from a foal. I later rode him by myself but he knew was only 2 years old so he only went at a walk no matter how much I kicked him

Disregarding a handful of pony rides at the fair I went on when I was little, the first horse I rode was a chestnut gelding whose name, for the life of me, I can't remember. It was at a small day camp (and by small, I mean there were only three other girls) I went to when I was twelve or thirteen. I cried the last day because I knew I wouldn't get to ride him ever again and I would miss him.
The first horse I rode when I started taking lessons was an old schoolhorse aptly named Goldie, seeing as how she is a palomino. I was fourteen at the time, and she was a sweet old mare that put up with anything. I now work at that barn, and give lessons to beginners on that very same old mare, who is now 27. She's really good with the little ones, and we have a young autistic girl that rides her and absolutely adores her. |

The first horse I ever rode was at my first riding lesson-- an Arabian mare named Shamrock. She was sold shortly after that, so I only rode her once, but I loved her. I haven't seen her since then.
