The Advent Calendar!

HellOw,

It's that time of the year!

The Advent Calendar starts on December 1st!

Open the windows everyday for surprises. You can get divines on Saturdays and on Christmas day!

If you miss a day, you’ll be able to open that window by paying Equus. The amount of Equus will increase every time you open a window late.

After you open a Calendar window, come share with us the gifts that you receive!

Happy Holidays!
The Howrse Team

I'm glad to hear from a few of you that won the divine. I've played faithfully since 2009 and have never won one in The advent calendar. (Although I have been able to get lots of them without paying real money default smiley :d)

I saw someone post earlier that on divine days it would be nice to get something a little bigger than normal for the rest of us. Congratulations to those who got an Elf Pack today! default smiley (y)

that's me. I don't think every one should get a divine and not every day should be better. but all prizes on divine days only should be better. The elf pack is a regular prize. you'll get it eventually. i already got it. I got 25 manure

The fact that I can change it is NOT THE POINT. I shouldn't have to pay 1000p per month to change speciality.
tack them up before 5. change it for FREE before 5. and the tack automatically changes specialties

I kinda think Howrse should get a feature for all players to transform a Western saddle cloth to a Classical one from the same colours. And visa versa.
they do if done BEFORE 5. if you switch specialties BEFORE 5 which anyone can do for FREE the tack switches and to the same colors.

has anyone ever actually gotten a divine from the star days. I've been playing for years across the Int and Aus server, so.. lots of advant calanders (including on an account i had before this one) and have not once gotten one or heard of anyone getting one

Back in 2016 I got Sagittarius from the advent calendar on my Swedish account. However, being only 13 at the time and not reading much into it, I thought everyone got one and realized maybe a year later that wasn't the case default smiley (lol)

Agreed with everything said about the Western saddle cloths; some breeds of horses do NOT do well in Classical and yet it's hard to get color bonuses for them because the 2* cloths are so rare!

I'm currently sitting on some 13 Western saddle cloths and basically hoarding them at this point, wish they'd let the Japanese Divines drop them, or allow a trade, SOMEthing...

Changing over is all good when the horse is 5 or under, but what happens you want to add coloured tack and the horse is over 5 and western, while you only have classic? That would require the vip perk or clouds to be used. While I own the perk, I'm glad that western is being offered more for those that don't.

Again. This is NOT THE POINT. Both tacks should be offered.

It's like with accessibility problems and animations when players say "Just don't look". Are you kidding? Please don't try to avoid the problem by trying to circumvent it. It's still a problem. default smiley :)

Yea, I breed Marwaris which are Western, and my Western cloths are lowww lol. I have 85 Classic cloths, and only 35 Western ones :/ And, I have 30 3*** cloths. The fact I almost have the same amount of them vs the Western cloths definitely shows the discrepancy...

^

We have 17 Japanese Divines and they *all* drop Classical 2** tack, but NONE of them drop Western.
We only have the Sherlock Divines, which while *amazing* (and I repeat, they're AMAZING, thank you for listening to us!) are not enough.

I'm just advocating for more Western cloths in events, and I'm celebrating the fact that today I got one, which is GREAT. default smiley :)

I actually didn't know about the loophole to change the tack around, so I guess that's better than nothing, but even so I probably won't use it much if at all. I don't decide which of my horses I want to put higher-end tack on until they're trained a bit more (over 5 years) and usually what I do is start with 1* and then switch it for the better tack on a horse that needs it, which the under 5 thing wouldn't work for.

This has never really been my favorite thing on here. Maybe if they threw in a fertility wand one day it'd be better, or some other breeding BMI like an arrow. Tack is kinda low on priority for me

Regarding everyone's at home advent calendars, my mother did this every year growing up as well. It was so much fun and towards the end there would always be a matching Christmas pajama set for all of us and the final day would be a movie for us to watch - back before things where on Netflix we used to buy them in DVD or VHS. I'm only 29 and showing my age a bit here but hey, it was great memories with great people! Now fighting over who got to operate the remote to start the movie, that was the event of the holiday season. My brother and I would fight like it was the ultimate honor to use that thing default smiley (lol)
I found this really cute idea on Pinterest to make a book advent calendar, and I think I'm going to try that next year. Throw some new books in there along with some garage sale finds, oh and some thrift store finds. Barnes and Noble may be my weakness, butttttt I won't say no to bingeing and spending $5 to get like 20 books at a garage sale default smiley (7)

If anyone here needs an extra western saddle or something western tack related, I can send you an item. I have so much western tack I normally sell the lot for black Friday. I do agree that English tack is soooo common on here for prizes or ufo's, and western isn't as common. The changing before 5yo is nice, but that shouldn't be the point. A more 50/50 ratio would be nice for western/classical as prizes!
