Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

We finally got Standies up high enough that I crossed one with an IH mare I bought a bit ago and came up with this gal:

http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=9776096

(sorry about the no hot link. I forgot how to do it - again. default smiley :( ).

She's got a total of 19 stars, and at least one in every skill - one cross to stars in all skills. Once I skill her (she has to wait her turn in my EC), she'll also have the highest overall and dressage skills for standies, not that a Standie with dressage and stamina as the top two skills has a whole lot of practical application in the game. Oh well, she'll look pretty on the charts until someone comes along and bumps her off. default smiley ;).

(P.S. Standies hit 19 stars, or will as soon as we get the first one through games, probably tonight. default smiley ^) ).

Lots of very impressive horses seem to be gathering in this topic. I'm so glad that so many other people share in my passion for crossbreeding.
Very nice FQ-love the coat you picked too!

Thanks pix, I love it too. *cuddles with Dun*

Anything new on your end of the paint world default smiley :p. You've done one of almost every cross with a paint haven't you?

Zepharo I have always admired crosses but since I did NIBing I haven't ever branched out into it. I still NIB and plan to get back into it wholeheartedly soon but right now it is fun to see my mutts reach the top rankings for a change! haha

FQ-here is my finished boy ⋛ €lєcтяιc βlยє ⋛ I'm really happy with how he turned out...He has some covers out too. I had hoped he would get 1000 skills, but...that mix isn't like my xc monsters that are paint/arabs, or paint/canadians...

I am trying to breed a horse that is a mix of all breeds
FQ-I have the clouds, but I hate to fully skill any of my crosses-most times it takes 1-2 per skiller, and they easily beat the purebreds default smiley :p

im considering starting crossbreeding myself...do you think an irish hunter cross hanoverian would make a good mix??
If you make it IH dominant then you could probably dominate jumping comps with it default smiley (lol)

Very true pix. I haven't had to use any fillers for my crosses.....not much point to cloud them if they are winning the big bucks for you already and there is no way to get the 20 passes for clouding back anyway default smiley :-x

Firstly, I love this thread. I'm glad a Mod out there likes to color outside the lines.

I am beyond thrilled with my girl. I first introduced her as a foal. She is now not only completed, but fully clouded and was trained in a 24 e EC. Big thanks to ~Misty Mountain Manor~ for giving me the chance.

To take a peek at my 1100+ skilled Friesian/Hano cross - or Frino as I like to say - here's a link to her page.

Intrinsic Caracole

She's doesn't have the stars like Stars Galore, but I still like her. She *should* be number one for Friesian in Jumping. Funniest thing, she barely wins in that competition. Go figure.

i am looking to buy a 6mth old foal that is 50% standardbred and 50% thoroughbred. must have a good amount of stars. i dont have any passes but will pay good e. i will only accept a foal that is half standie and half thoroughbred. PM me if you have suct a foal!!! thankyou.
MuckieDuckie, my Welsh Trotter, who leads the Welsh Trot skills rankings by over 50 points (she's the first to get a gain from lessons) has yet to win a Trot race. There aren't many (or possibly any now, haven't looked since she got that high) Welsh trot races for her, and she can't beat the open comp entries. Most of her wins are in Gallop and Jumping.

MiataManiac, to this day I still have no idea how races work. I just pick the lowest available to my horses. My other cross is 25% of Hano, TB, Friesian, and Standie and has 0 stars. Yet he is a monster comp horse, and often beats highly starred Hanos in breed specific jumping comps.

I'm excited to work my Hano/Friesian cross, who should be number 1 in Hano dressage.

Crosses are such fun!

yay, finally a crossbreed topic!

My best crossbreed horse ever, Mystic694.05 fully clouded, he is my second crossbreed stallion ever and he is the best at comps! He was ranked #1 in stamina for all QH's but has now been poked down to 5th place.
Im really proud of him since I produced him and trained him myself *prouds* default smiley (lol)
my other crossbreed champs is under my "My Champion Crosses!" tab. I used to have another one but I sold her to my friend. and I also help my friend training her crossbreeds sometimes.
MuckieDuckie, I checked out what Welsh trot races my pony could enter, and there are only two at her level. One she is entered in and it's been sitting for weeks. I have a 349 GP crossbred Arab mare who used to win comps over much higher GP horses. Not sure why. She doesn't win anymore and is just hanging out now. I made her immortal since she has a pretty GA coat.

Congrats on Mystic694.05, AngelsHeart! Isn't it great when you breed/train yourself and they turn out so well?

Looking for a stud for my top mare, the highest gp mare. I haven't done anything with them in awhile...I think I'm up to the 5th generation or so. The stud has to have hano, Irish, Arab and Friesian in him and has to have a higher gp than my mares and be 100BLUP
