It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.
Otherwise, you may use this topic to help others learn about NIBs, share your experience, and find friends that breed NIBs default smiley :)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I have a small herd. I'm not looking to building a multi-generation group though. Got too many of the other breeds to work on for that.

Group 1 GSH is close to having the whole of the original pairs finishes and a good portion of 2nd gens are on the way up. Groups 2-4 have much less activity and I’m still collecting coz I can’t help myself so might end up with 6 groups. Im still in the market for an RG Aussie female but I can work around it if I need too.
Also waiting for one more OG Aussie female but they have to wait till I get more Athena’s medals.

I'm not personally going to get into NIB projects but I thought I'd mention here that I have a few foundations, mostly thoroughbreds but also a misaki and a newfoundland unicorn that I am willing to arrange foal sales from prior to conception.
feel free to look at page or to DM me for more info

I try to check horse sales at least once a week. If I see any interesting OGs I buy them, after verifying they ARE OGs, then make them available to all NIBers for minimum cost. Check out my OG Foundations breeding farm.

I’m doing a small project with 8 OG to start (6 mine, 2 a friends) but it all depends on how many generations you want or how much time you want to spend on it. My big project will have six groups starting with 64 horses in each, but I’m insane default smiley ^)

Also depends if you’re doing the inverted pyramid breeding plan or the other one who’s name escapes me. Feel free to message me if you want to talk about it, we also have a discord.

If you want to get a 6th generation NIBer you will need:

Foundations 64 = 32 breeding pairs
1st generation 32 = 16 breeding pairs
2nd generation 16 = 8 breeding pairs
3rd generation 8 = 4 breeding pairs
4th generation 4 = 2 breeding pairs
5th generation 2 = 1 breeding pair
6th generation 1

For each additional generation you need to double your foundation number.

As to whether to use only your own or accept coverings from others, that is a matter of your trust in the other owners. If even ONE of your non-owned covering stallions goes "disappeared" (owner quits game or loses account while still owning stallion), your entire NIB line is wiped out.

Yankee lady is correct, I’ve actually screenshotted all my original horses bloodlines so if something happens in the future I can still verify the NIB-edness

Unfortunately, sometimes this isn't enough. Or at least for rankings back in the day it wasn't, because people could edit the photo to show that a horse was NIB when it wasn't.

I still won't do outside lines because of the potential danger of disappeared lines. I would be totally heartbroken if the first ever Appy 1* (I was the breeder), became illigitimate because his lines were broken.

What other breeding plan exists other than the pyramid one? I'm assuming the pyramid one is the traditional way of doing things. What's the other way?
