I want to know whwere you found that information.. because as of last night it was still coming out. Apparently Ow said this on the test server Hello Everyone, My reply took a bit of time coming simply because we had things to clarify and decide before I could give you any form of information. Talking to you without any form of concrete information to provide would have simply been detrimental. We don't want Christmas to be a period where there are any unnecessary tensions. We've heard what you had to say concerning the Retired Golden Apple item from the Vintage pack and therefore have decided that we wouldn't introduce it. However this doesn't mean that we will never do something similar in the future. We feel that the concept of offering a way for players to obtain rare items is something that is positive for the community but we have also understood that the format we had chosen wasn't one that would fit with your expectations. This means we are reworking the Christmas offers to offer something a bit more adapted. Our wish is to have a nice end of year celebration with our players and have a good time. To add to post Chelsea fc provided - these are Ow's replies to other questions that were asked after she posted the initial message:

Ow's reply: Player, as i have said it is the concept of giving the possibility to player to obtain rare items that we find interesting. Not specifically the Golden Apple and not in the next six months but what i wanted to convey is that the concept can probably be thought about and something of a compromise can be found that can be sufficiently satisfactory for you to not find it totally damaging. I don't know how and when and i'm even open to ideas but i'd rather be flatly honest and not have anyone triple upset in a year or two if something similar in concept comes along you see. The "new item" won't exist in that form and way of working that's sure. The concept however could with a lot of limitations and a lot of consideration be something else. ~*~ Player: Is there any chance you will create a future survey about how we would like such an item to be introduced? Ow's Reply: i can't make promises because i'm just a part of the equation. But i think we've got your message across quite clearly and will be taking triple care if we ever want to touch Golden Apples and more so retired ones in the future. For the survey bit i can't say. I'd like to really make what i mean by concept clear and i'm not sure i'm doing a great job at it. For instance instead of inserting retired golden apples, we could decide to select creations and offer them in very limited numbers on special occasions. A bit like the bird contest where player had the kindness of drawing the coats. When i say "concept" it's really the idea of a rare design and a limited opportunity offered to players. I really want to stress that I'm not talking of the item as it was planned in the vintage pack. *for those of you who don't know; the Bird Contest in question was for the Bird Wandering Horses (they were all player designed) Second half of Ow's reply in regards to the Surveys we do surveys now and again but they have a few disadvantages from our vantage. - They need to be done at the conception phase (which is roughly 6 months or more before the feature is coded so we don't have any surprise factor) - They require manpower to conceive - They require manpower to analyse But yes they are excellent tools to get an idea of what the community is thinking. The results are sometimes surprising too ~*~ Player; Will you be replacing this item that has been removed to maintain the value level of the Vintage pack or are you just removing it and leaving this pack with a bit lesser value ? Ow's Reply; We are removing the packs and working on something sightly different thou shall see soon and i think you' ll also approve of it

If you like beach Rides you can be - I just want to figure out where I am going to put my center Maybe I'll put out a poll to my boarders about it...let them decide as if memory serves: Click to display Rides that match where the Center is located will be completed twice as fast (so a center in the Mountains will have its horses complete Mountain rides faster than Forest or Beach) But that's not my major concern - mine comes from the Resources that each location will offer; Click to display Forest gives Wood - Mountains give Iron. Now according to the Time Line on Preprod for the next set of EC changes, we'll be able to start producing our own supplies via Workshops. One of the new things listed for boxes and meadows is Water Troughs. But I don't know if these will be made of Wood or Iron...I wish I knew so that I would be able to quickly produce this perk for my boarders by harvesting the needed resource

Production Cycle Thanks to the location of your Equestrian Center and your boarders, you can collect a brand new type of resource: wood for the forest, iron for the mountains, sand for the beach. There are two types of resources: Resources associated with the location of your Equestrian Center: acquired via missions done by your boarders or purchased from the store. Resources available for all Equestrian Centers: agricultural products (fodder, straw, flax, etc.) and livestock products (leather). By combining different resources, you can make most of the products and facilities in your Equestrian Center At the store, the price of products that you make depends on supply and demand. You can change the location of your equestrian center for 30 days after the next update, to test the various possibilities. Workshops Workshops allow you to make: Buildings: boxes, greenhouses, new workshops Box (shower, trough) and meadow (trough, tractor) improvements Products (equipment, mash, fertilizer) Depending on their size, they allow you to make more or less of your chosen product. The number of workshops that you can simultaneously have producing goods depends on the prestige of your Equestrian Center. Production time depends on the product that you are making. Raising Cows You can dedicate the use of some of your fields to raise cattle Cows allows you to get leather You can have 6 fields simultaneously growing crops and/or containing cows. Buildings in your Equestrian Center A new improvement is available for boxes: the drinking trough. It allows your boarders to obtain 4 times more energy and morale via the “drinking” action. This improvement does not count toward prestige. The tractor replaces the scarecrow. The trough is an improvement for fields with cattle: it allows you to obtain 30% more leather. When a building is used too much, it is disabled until it is repaired with resources. You can have several greenhouses. They are available in three different sizes and wear out as they are used. Horse's Page Lessons carried out by horses have been renamed Missions. There are two types of missions: Lessons, which bring in money to the Equestrian Center manager Gathering missions, which bring in resources to the Equestrian Center This action always brings in money for the horse owner and skills for the horse. The “Put in the meadow” and “Put in the box” actions have been deleted. Adjustments have been made to counteract the loss of energy/morale. What's next... The following is a general overview of what has been planned for the future. We will provide more details of each feature closer to their release date. From now on, you can choose the skill that will gain points and the skill that will lose points. If a choice is not made, the skill that will gain points will be the highest, and the skill that will lose points will be the lowest. Points exchanged by these rides were previously fixed, so it took more and more time with the increase in horse genetic potential. Now, beach rides require the same amount of time no matter the genetic potential of the horse." So, the (with high gp horses) formerly sooo frustratingly long and boring beach rides can be done much faster and if you messed up with keeping the skill lowest that you want to have reduced (or the skill highest that you want to add to) you now/then can manually choose to have the transfer go in the way you want it to. Weee. I am wondering how useful sand will be ...

am wondering how useful sand will be ... See? That's my problem when it comes to choosing a location for my center - the Resources... It's easy enough to figure out what one can use Wood [building boxes] and Iron for [Bits and stirrups on saddles, shower nozzles] but not Sand. The only things that make sense for Sand is; Click to display Lining the Lesson Ring (perhaps as a way to decrease energy use) Making concrete to make floors for your boxes and workshops Making Glass to be able to build a Green House *this seems the most logical now that I think about it*

I'm so excited to see that Howrse listened to the players that I'm done stressing over locations and materials. I'm not entirely sure which I'm going to choose yet, but Howrse *listened* to its players. I think I might need to buy some passes as thanks...
