I'm hoping that Howrse goes with this version instead

http://gaia.preprod.equideow.com/media/equideo/image/chevauxv4/adulte/tinker/normal/300/bai.png?1828806360

It is most like an actual Gypsy Vanner.
(Which, yes, have lots of feather. I can't believe so many people complained about not enough feather then complain about too much. I can't wrap my mind around a Gyspy having too much feather....)

Sorry. Don't know how to do spoilers. Hoping the link will suffice since you can't see it unless you follow the link.

I totally agree, Gypsy Vanners are known for feather.

These are the Gypsy Vanners that they will be changing too. They did have shorter manes & tails and less feathering in their original new art work, they updated it to this after players complained

I personally think the Mustang could be dramatically improved by simply adding a mane.

I don't really like the new coats for mustangs either, but my least favorite by far is the knabstruppers default smiley :( I miss the cute look on their faces….

I don't see why so many people hate the new Gypsy Vanners! I think they are one of the best looking breeds that are being updated! I might even start breeding them!

Agreed. XD In fact, I *am* going to start breeding them.

Maybe that's what's missing. Otherwise, something just doesn't sit right with me on the head. The new body I like, the head not so much.

Still would like for the mane and tail a bit more 'fluffy' rather than flat, but I can deal with it.

Gypsy banners changed today on UK howrse, I'm not really that in love with them at the moment, they don't look right.

I agree. And softening the dark line behind their eyes. I know there is a shadow there, but on the lighter coats it looks a lot like eyeliner.

That would do it for me. Otherwise the new one looks more natural than the old.
Hey!
Someone knows something about the
next event?
Thanks default smiley :)

Do someone know, what breeds have not been changed yet?
I don't know how everyone else feels, but personally I think the coats are much more realistic and for once, give the actual breeds justice.

The Irish Hunters and Hanoverians (including others that looked like them or similar to them like the KWPNs) were my least favorite breed on here simply due to the fact they looked nothing like the real thing. The new coats now do them more justice than any Howrse has had before (Well done Graphic designers and thank you for it!) I actually enjoy breeding and looking at my Irish Hunters and Hanovarians now!

Morgans, Hackneys, and Standardbred look much better as well! They have detail and can tell that they have noses and eyes!

As for the Friesians and Gypsy Vanners, I think the Friesians are about the same quality as before with maybe a little more detail. They look more realistic when it comes to the coloring and the body shape but not so much in the feathering to be honest, though most Friesians don't have that much feathering if you actually take a real good look at them. As for the Gypsy Vanners, I love them more than ever! They look much more like a horse rather than a pony like they did before! Before they were compacted and looked rather stout and short, but now they look like the gentle giants they really are. I think that the updated coats for them has more feathering than before and looks more realistic in the feathering if you pay attention to the details.

Arabians, Tekes, and Marwaris are my favorites as always default smiley (l). The coats look so real and have so much more detail to them I couldn't be happier default smiley (l).

As for the Stock breeds (Quarter Horses, Paints, Appaloosas, and Mustangs etc...) Howrse has never (it seems) been able to get right, though the new coats are much more realistic and give the breeds much more justice than before. The problem areas most of the time though are the heads and the chest area for these breeds which Howrse never seems to be able to get quite right, the heads are always squished and they make the chests pointed or angled.

The ponies, I love them more than ever! The poses they were in before were unnatural (and so were the shapes of the bodies and heads of some of the ponies) and it was uncomfortable to look at, but now they are perfect and beautiful, very realistic! I love my ponies now default smiley (l).

About the only complaint with the coats I have are the chests (on some breeds the chest is awkward and pointed) and the heads (some of the details, shapes etc... are off).

However, all in all, the coats are such an improvement and much more realistic, I'm in love with them! They are amazing and I am impressed with the graphics!

Does anybody know/ have a rough idea of how long it will be until they get rid of the objectives?

does anyone know what the newfoundland pony will look like

We don't know. Maybe when we get the tack feature, or maybe we will have to wait longer before they change that.

I wish I could be that positive but I cannot.
I do not understand why Howrse has chosen to remove the shiny coloring from so many of the breeds.

I really dislike how several of my favorite breeds look now.
The ones I dislike the most are the Fry, The TB, the Knabs, the Vanner, the canadians/PSH/Passo and the Shagya.

The Fry has way too little mane and feathers. It's black not gray. There is something off with the head. Looks like it has strangles or is frozen chewing on something.
I have been breeding Fry for over 900 days, and my Destrier crosses for almost 2 years now. But when I look at the ones without a GA, I want to stop breeding them entirely. Same with the unis.
If I am to continue to breed them I will need to slap a GA on them, meaning it will slow down my projects a lot. I'm not made of money.

The TB is way too fat and the legs are too short. A TB is supposed to be thin. It is after all a racehorse!
The Knabs - I used to love their old coats. They were beautiful. The new coat looks so kiddish, the shading on the head is off somehow, and the markings are weird looking.

The Vanner - The new coat is fine on a generic heavy draft horse, but not on a Vanner. Their renowned for having heavy leg feathering and long long manes.
I do know they come in many variations also a semi heavy version. But going from their current apperance to the one we're going to see, is beyond sad.

The canadians/PSH/Passo - the mane is gone, and what's up with the mouth? And their hindquarters. My kidlet now calls them flat-butts lol.
A positive notion is that Howrse has kept the heavy muscular neck.

The Shagya as well as the Arabians - have totally lost their appeal to me. They look so cartoonish now. it may be the due to the odd-looking shading, weird hindquarters mane and tail. They look so strange now in my eyes.

The paints and appy look like old nags all crouching like their backs hurt. BUT I can live with those, since I like the gentle look in their eyes.

Now for a little positive remarks, so I do not come off as a totally whining old girl.
I do like are the Akal-Teke, Marwari, Russian Dons and Curly.
I have never bred many of those, but I might decide to work on crossbreeding lines that have their appearance. Or I might go for a pony breed.
Once I have blupped my WIP's I'll decide what to do.
