Yeah, I know. Just like with the Lusitano coat and so on. Howrse just took away the manes from most breeds and flipped it to the other side - probably for the tack. I really wish they wouldn't have, especially for the PSH coats.

That is really rude! The Howrse team is doing their best to make the new costs look realistic and close to what the breed does look like! Have you ever tried to do something ,as hard as a horse, to do exactly perfect and realistic?!
@dappled

I totally agree, I don't understand why everybody is being so mean, I don't think they understand how difficult it is to draw a ton of horses. Why so ungrateful? :<

I believe it's because it is a part of human nature. When there is nothing to complain about people tend to stir up dirt. Why else do you think there is entertainment in the world? If everything is peaceful it is considered boring, so people will complain/Bicker/quarrel over the smallest details.. why else do people get into drama after all. Yes I know me commenting might seem the same, but truth be told I am only reading and responding because I currently have nothing else to do. . See, that is probably a huge reason why there's a lot of negative inputdefault smiley (8)

I for one, like most of the new coats, they are much more realistic, admittedly, though, some of the new ones not so much. I remember when Mustangs used to look like this:

These are my favourites by far. I wish we could do a vote or something, among all the horse coats of the past and present, and choose the best coat for each breed. But I guess that's not gonna happen default smiley :d

I'm just selling them all now default smiley :'(

Seeing things like this is upsetting, the new coats are not THAT bad. I will be honest and say im not happy with some of the coats, like the mustangs and gypsy vanners, but im not going to get upset and sell all of my horses due to an "improvement" that we have been asking for, for a while now!

Agreed. if only for the reason of all the work i have put into them and for the love the breed I couldn't sell. I'm not over the moon with the new Friesian coat but I am not going to change my game for that reason.
I believe the Nokota changed today:

Please tell me if I'm wrong.

While I really love a lot of the new coats, and agree that they are an improvement on many of the old ones (I couldn't stand the old quarter horse coats) the old ones do have some nostalgic value. The old Knab coats looked terrible, but for some reason I loved them XD

However, in cases where there are just some terribly blatant anatomical errors on the new coats, or things look strange, guys remember the person who made them is an artist being PAID (or at least i assume they are) to create coats. I AM an artist, so I know what I'm talking about. if you take on a job, then you're expected to pull it off. To everyone saying that people should be so mean because someone worked hard on the coats, that person is an artist being paid for their work, and who should EXPECT criticism. Just because you can't draw a horse as realistically doesn't mean that you have no right to criticize the coats when you spot errors. You didn't try and make that your profession, they did.

That being said, I'm talking specifically about terrible anatomical errors which could be easily adjusted, rather than just a desire to return to nostalgia.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest >_>

Just logged into test server and saw the big challenge... i'm already confused with it default smiley (lol)
ponyhorsegirl wrote:

And "constructive" is the key word. A lot of the complaining here is not "constructive", it is just spewing of insults and/or rants.

Which would an artist learn more from?

1. "The Welsh Pony coat is good overall, but the head lacks pony character. A good Welsh will not have such a 'horsey' head."

2. "The new coats are hideous!"

Hmmm... Which one there addresses the problem without drama, and explains why there is a problem? default smiley (b)

I am not without artistic experience of my own... I know which one I would pay attention to, and give some thought to, and which one I would just dismiss out of hand.

I completely agree with ardlamont! I am an artist and whilst negative critism is never a nice thing to hear, when it is contructive it can be extremely helpful and both respected and welcomed. However the type of critism I see in this forum is usually just people spewing out threats of ending their game or selling their horses in an attempt to get the old coats back. I think a lot of people need to realise and accept that the changes are happening and they can either get on board and try to suggest helpful improvements or they can sit and sulk in the corner whilst all the other players enjoy their shiny new coats default smiley :)

No it doesn't. The Big Challenge has *just* been put into the blog. The equestrian center changes haven't started yet either. They update things in order of when they were posted in the blog.
Anyone know the next divine? I'd love to see him so I know if I have to start saving or not default smiley xd
