[Info] NIB Horses
I used to say that my horses were NIB, because I thought it meant that I had not bred them with each other in my breeding farm. Now, of course, I know that was incorrect labeling. I also can no longer even say that I don't breed them back with parents or brothers and sisters.
I may sell some of my foundies, but usually I just hold on to all my horses until pass age now since no one besides 0GP breeders ever want our horses, and then I'd rather just deal with them directly. I think even before you can see the genetics, you can see the breeds in the horse, but I'm not sure.

Thank goodness, this topic was an awesome idea!! I'm an NIB breeder of mainly Newfie ponies. And I'm always looking for foundie Newfies and Irish Hunters. If anyone else breeds NIB Newfies and is looking for stallions to breed to I have several, all listed on my player presentation.

I breed NIB Brumbies and Welshes, though I am only up to my 2nd generation due to lack of studs...
|
ive been leaving my mustangs, they are still pretty much iuntouched, because i wanted to try a NIB project with them but didnt really know how to go about it. is there anyone out there who breeds NIB mustangs who could help me out?
|
all seeking NIB studs of breeds I have are welcome to contact me by message. I generally do not set them official stud list so contacting is needed. I have myself seen goodstallions at races and contacted owners cause its way too good stallion not to try get breeding to
Im also very picky myself I want stallions be 100 blup of corse but they have to have all disiblines bolded for me to want use them. I also look at pedigree I most often choose one with clear ouranus-gaia parents over something I barely can look at cause several pages need to be opened.

I'm so excited! Sahara now has 8 wins! Only 12 left to go. He's sort of old, but I'm still being hopeful. Worst case scenario I can ues a Philosopher's Stone on his and use a Zeus's Lightning Bolt sohe can breed. If anyone has either of those items or a Nyx Pack am willing to buy them or trade them for a different BM item. Be sure to check his progress and my other NIB/Foundation Brumbies.

I bred one NIB Aussie foal, 356.66 GP after games. No longer breeding them, though. I feel a bit sad that I'm not working on anything NIB anymore, now that this topic is around!

I breed NIB hanoverians. My highest 1st gen GP so far is 354.81, my highest 2nd gen is 358.73 but I will be achieving higher than that soon since the mother of that horse did not have particularly outstanding GP for a 1st gen. I'm reeaaally slow at blupping though, winning comps with foundies is tough...

Winning comps with foundies is pretty easy, as long as you follow this method. I use it for TBs, I haven't used it for any other breeds though.
First you train completely in dressage and speed. then when that has been done enter galloping comps. Now that you can pick specific races try and find some EC's that have the lowest gallops you can enter ( I have made a list of ECs that have gallop races with skills set to either 20 or 25%), enter races until you get no more skill gain. Then start gallop training and also do short rides. Once gallop, dressage and speed is bolded start training in jumps, until the jump skills reaches 9. Then enter as many jump comps as you can in the 9-12% skill level. Once that is done do jump training and do some rides. Don't start stamina yet!!! When you have finished doing jumps training, you can enter cross country. By this stage your foundie may only have 5 wins, but don't fear. You will make a killing in the cross country and the trot races. The aim is to have jump, and dressage as high as you can, while keeping stamina low, this way you can enter low skilled x country comps, and the high level of dressage and jump gives you an edge against the other horses entering into the cross country comps. The lowest cross country comps start at 6% skills (I think) Enter the lowest ones you can, and don't do any stamina training until you have maxed out the skill gain from cross country. Then move onto trot comps. the lowest trot races need 0 skills in trot. The first trot race you enter is basically a gimme, most of the horses entering 0 skill trot races are either dying or have very low skills, so it should be pretty easy. After that first race you need to train until your skills in trot =1 then enter what you can, until no more skill gain from comps. By this stage your foundie should have close to, if not have 20 wins. if not enter more cross country races (as long as your stamina skills are around 20 at most). Then finish your training. As I mentioned this is what I do for my TB foundies, and the only time I find it hard to BLUP them is if someone one else has started training them and not followed this method. Let me know if this is similar to what others do, and with different breeds. Hope it helps. casbar

I forgot to mention:
I always use a chronos timer on my horses, and they are generally blupped by 10 years, I just need to finish training. Generally I have all skills bolded by about 11-12 years. I do two lessons everyday too, to get extra skills. This is an example of a couple of foundies I trained this way, note the high number of cross country and trot wins. http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=7504795 http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=7086455 (sorry can't figure out how to do the link right now....)

I deal specifically in NIB Connemaras, Morgans, Mustangs, and Paint Horses, though I do have a few side projects for Chincoteagues, Shetlands, and Friesians. -DM |
