This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.
REMEMBER:
******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs
* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums
* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.
* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...
** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.
* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.
* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.
* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.
*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.
* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.
* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.
* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer
* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.
** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.
* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.
*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.
*#*#*#* If players feel the need break the main topic rules, such as sales ads/coat countdowns/spares-you can expect an instant forum ban without any warning prior to it *#*#*#*

I couldn't keep my eyes open and missed the last release by a half hour. Feel asleep in front of my kindle. Guess I'll have to find that pony in sales. Too bad all the copies are low skilled.

Of both coats there were less than 75 copies used, and they were one of the first ones I went for, so I think it was very unlikely they sold out before I tried to buy them. Of course never say never, I suppose.. I'm the first one to find mistakes on my end before accusing something or someone else, but it is just a fact that I never had issues before for years, and now it has happened several times.
In my opinion, it would be better to limit the 100 copies for each player permanently, say 1 copy for each player. The players buying the limited coats just to sell them for (ridiculous) higher prices still exist these days even with the slow newer interface. In fact I think it is happening even more today versus so many years ago. Each release I see collectors saying here they missed out on a copy or copies, I find that saddening. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.

I was literally just thinking about a limit on limited coats based on how many copies the coat has, like 1 per 100 copies, so a max of 9 on a 900 copy coat.
I know people would probably say "they are prepared to pay, so they should be able to buy as many as they can afford", but aren't those that miss out also prepared to pay for the coat? Why should they miss out just because people are grabbing multiple copies of the 100 and 200 ones just to resell?
I do feel like some serious re balancing needs to be done when it comes to buying limited copy coats to keep it more fair. If not a limit, a cool down should be put in place, like you need to wait 10 minutes before you can buy another copy of that coat.
I know people would have different opinions on this, but saying this as both someone that has missed out and has bought some to resell (for the pass value + tax, usually done when I need passes), I do feel that something needs to change.

I would be very happy to see limits brought in!
One copy of a coat via BM would be fine by me. People who do want extras can always use the sales
. Unfortunately there are more people buying to resell so we are in a small minority so can't see it being implemented but we can live in hope!

Well I try and buy some to resell, and I'd like to see a limit put on. Selling an occasional copy is a way I fund my game, and I can't get a good price if someone's bought 20 copies and put them up low price.
Did we have this discussion last month, or was it the month before?

I think implementing a limit would be good as there is a lot of price gouging going on and I think it would help limit that at least a little. As there wouldn't be 20 of the same coats for the same obnoxiously high price

You can dream but it's never gonna happen. I for one am glad that I can get the ones in sales I miss. Some times I miss the release cause I'm traveling. Imagine if they all only went to collectors. No one would wanna part with them. Coats are always gonna be expensive. I've been collecting ever since retired coats became a thing. Its not a hobby for the cheap. Collect regular GA coats if you want to get them easy and only cost a pass. Just as pretty, in fact many times much prettier! Admit it. Y'all want them when they are rare and unavailable. It's part of the draw.

I personally do it for the thrill. It does stress me out but it also gives me some excitement and motivation to blup horses for it. 99% of the time I also don't go after them in sales if I miss them, I just wait until the next month. I coat a lot of horses and certain projects, so having some limited in the mix that I want is a sudden burst of inspiration for those projects and makes me cover more ground in the span of 24 hours.

I'm not convinced we have anywhere near that amount of collectors anymore. The fact some players can pick up multiples of several coats during a release would back this up alongside how many immediately hit the sales (then just sit there).
I think there would still be plenty of copies to be found in sales for those missing release, just shared a little more equally perhaps than the same handful of sellers, whom I absolutely will not buy from!

Wait, wait, did I miss something?
Why are we needing a limit on the coats we can get during release? I thought the limited coats were restricted to one copy per player in the pre-release.. Or did that get scratched off again (same as they did when using items, it used to slect inventory first, but it's going passes first again.. not sure if anyone noticed that change)

It hasn't been scrapped, but people are just frustrated seeing people buying 10+ copies of one limited coat just to sell for 2-4 times the price of the Golden Apple after it retires. Liking a coat and wanting a few copies is fine, but no one realistically needs 10+ of the same coat, especially when they just end up in sales for 223-445 passes each by the end of it. Even 1 copy for you and 1 or 2 to sell is fine, but 10+ is excessive.
I am guilty of doing it myself, but I've only done it a couple of times and sold for a little over the Golden Apple value (to cover tax), but I stopped doing it when I realized that people that really wanted the coat were missing out.
People can do what they want with their game, but when it affects someone else's game I do feel that it needs to be taken into consideration.

VIP release is limited to 1 copy, but the normal release is only limited by how fast you go.
There are players getting dozens of the same coat and then flip them in sales.

I like to grab an extra copy to sell snd usually have friends request i grab one they missed during vip.
I tend to only grab 2 max extras of a coat to resell but usually end up selling it reasonable to someone who missed out. The resales tend to retirn some passes to fund my collecting in general.
Also i love the thrill of release.

I do not see a problem with people getting extras. I am glad there are so many in sales when I missed one I really liked, and selling some funds the collecting.

I never get extras myself, as it's hard enough as is for me to get enough GAs/Harmony Packs every month. However, I don't have a problem with people getting extras, but at the same time, I do feel like some of the prices in sales after release is a bit over the top.
