I agree about the kissing up. We are all equal.
The chances might be awful sometimes but let's face it, that's the way the Powers that Be made the game. I may not agree with them but will complaining make anything better? No. And it will just mess with my mood. So I'll just let it slide and enjoy what I can. You don't need Divines to be able to enjoy the game, not that they aren't nice to have but you can play and have fun even if you aren't "rich" by Howrse standards.
And why complain about the promos? I love them. You can get free gifts to help with your game. I'm grateful for every little bit. The jackpot is awesome but entirely unnecessary for my enjoyment.
Those are just my thoughts... you're free to disagree with me if you want. But the wheel turns round and round and the fly on the bottom will be the fly on the top after a while

What I dislike about promos is the luck element whe you spend real money on it... You'll either pay 5 or 100+ in trying for a divine. I almost did not obtain devoted indigo after spending 50 some odd passes. That's a lot of money for only obtaining two top prizes.

I'm suffering because I don't buy passes at ALL and most of the promos require you to either be a really advanced player or just a pass buyer.

I don't mind the promos to be honest. I was a pass buyer at one time, but had to cut back due to financial reasonings. I'm doing great to keep the 5 passes that I have from doing things freely (30 day pass, horse sale, horse death). Promos are pass heavy, but honestly that's for those that want to push themselves and/or those that can afford passes. I don't even go for the jack pot anymore these days and I'm waiting for the Rainbows to come out in Reserve. Honestly, that's possibly the best method because it's a) guaranteed and b.) a lot less of a random chance which means less passes spent. Yes, understandably there are those few lucky people that get it right off the bat. I am not one of those.

We don't need the free stuff. BMI's are constantly loosing trade value because people keep getting them in promos. Not to mention there is SO many divines now. What happened to them actually being hard to get?
People now depend on promos so much the rest of the game has become boring. If howrse needs to have a promo every week just to keep attendance up; they are doing something wrong. I remember when we would go a month or more between promos...

I honestly don't see how affecting the trade value is bad, happens in the real world all the time. And Divines are hard for some, not all, players to get. Only people who are really committed to getting a certain Divine get them, unless the were unlucky, and certain lucky ducks. Not trying to complain..

When I startedb playing, there was 2 weeks between promos, it was just about right, had time to catch up, and relax, than one would come along.
They where all cool and different promos, not old promos made over like now.

We may not need it, but I certainly appreciate it! Exchanging items was not possible for a very long time, and I still appreciate being able to do it at all...
I can only see so many divines being bad if you are committed to collecting them all, and that's a choice you can make for yourself.
I also seem to remember having promos only for special events like Christmas and Easter (long time ago for a bad memory
) - while the now constant promos are a bit wearing, I'm one of those who is quite happy to take it easy and get the free stuff without going after the big things. I still enjoy my game

I agree
This game gets incredibly boring without promos. And if it weren't for the promos, we non-pass buyers would be hard pressed for items.
As for Divines and Specials, I think the variety is great.
This game is a buisness for the owners, and therefore they are going to make ways to earn more money through pass sales. Any of us would do the same thing if this was our living, whether we think so now or not. I'm just glad and thankful that Howrse *allows* us to play for free. Who are we to complain? Lol
I'm excited for the upcoming G_____ C_____!

How long will the lottery be? I mean, I heard that shorter that GC is, longer will be the lottery? What do they mean with that?

I'm not involved in testing but I would guess it would be something like this:
The GC is on a set time cycle (for example it could be 30 days)
So when that time is up the festivities end and everything starts again.
So it if took ten days to collect the horse shoes you would get 20 days of festivities, if you took 25 days you would get 5 days of festivities, etc
Just a guess though

I didnt mind them *that* much either but the fact that we haven't gone more than a week without one really shows something about Howrse.
If these promos were solely for fun then they would listen to the community more and space them out a little, improve the prizes,... But they don't. It's clear to see the promos are more about the money involved from people buying passes to get the divine. So much so that the only promos where you can win the divine without spending all of your passes or staying up all night to click something are the card promo and lottery (maybe also any of the series of UFO fights but there is a lot of time involved in that if you want to be in the top 50).
I have not bought a single pass since December 2013 so I took a pretty hard blow spending just over 170 passes to get all of the rainbow divines and secret rainbow (only to find that he gives out tack, and very rarely at that).
Most of the complaints about promos are not from people who "hate" them, they just want a break from the constant pressure to participate in them.
You'll always get the usual people who say "But you don't have to participate in them!!!1!1!" - you're kind of right, you don't have to participate in them, but then you're at a huge disadvantage because you will not get the divine and therefore not be able to get the trophy, hindering yourself in he process because you will be at a slight disadvantage when it comes to the general ranking.
The people that do participate end up spending a whole lot of money. You used to be able to win the prize from a promo with a lot of effort and 5 passes at most. Now you're lucky if you can get there with 20-50 passes spent on *each* promo.
For the people who didn't participate, they don't know how much people have to spend on these things and I won't have anyone tell me that they wouldn't complain if they participated in it and had to spend that kind of money because they'd be lying
So, in conclusion, the people that do complain have had to face these promos head on, whereas *most* of the people who don't participate beyond what they can do easily or don't participate at all (just to make sure, I am NOT singling anyone out here - I've seen people say these types of things for months and the pattern has remained the same) will be the ones to say "stop complaining, you're getting free stuff!!!"
It's all down to who does what really, I don't believe there is a collective opinion about whether promos are good or bad because of this and that's where arguments have come from before!

So, like all other non-pass-buyers that can afford to spend passes, you just have to wait to become a really advanced player. Simple, isn't it?

I agree with you there. I don't mind the promos, and I am one that doesn't do more that is really needed. I honestly think that it's crazy that people a) stay up all night for promos and b) spend $200 to get one Divine; MAYBE? People are losing sleep, and probably health, for a pixel game.
However, I do think that there needs to be just ONE promo everyone can be good at and win REAL stuff from, not P. Boxes and WOYs. Take the Maze, some people already had the Divine from the first day! I hardly got past the first third without passes, and got nowhere. Every single promo, a pass buyer or VIP just has to be 'better' than everyone else (not trying to sound mean, and it isnt to anyone directly).
I'm not complaining much about the space between promos; it can get a little boring if you don't have them. I'm also not complaining, you DO get free stuff, so it's helpful, but I wish there was something we could actually get. There are so many Divines now, they're not special, so couldn't Howrse spare just ONE so everyone can be happy with a Divine? There are what, 150+ of them? I am going to try for Legendary horses though.
This is just my opinion.
