I must say, that Magic Ride promotion happens to be my least favourite promotion of any that Howrse has given us over the years and am greatly and deeply disappointed every time it is the chosen one for Christmas and I am less than impressed


Really wish they would just botch that promo altogether and delete the source code for it...

Howrse Cup was done in celebration of either the Olympics or FEI World cup, leaning to the former. It may return and it may not. It was a completely different site from the usual Howrse.

It was the Olympics.

Howrse Cup was a tie-in website for I believe the Summer Olympics. It was a more competition based horse in which players formed teams and worked on breeding the best horses. It was shut down in February of 2013 if memory serves after being up for around 7 months. I believe it was stated at the time of its deactivation that it would not be brought back.



The Magic Ride is a board game type event. You log in each day and can roll a die to make moves (rolls happen at certain times like pinata clicks, and you can get more rolls per hour, closes times, etc. as the event rolls on by doing objectives).

The main objective is to collect all the keys on a board and move to the next one with the final goal being to reach the 'Divine' or last board and win the Divine horse located there.

Along the way - you'll find Gifts to collect of different sizes - but you can't open your gifts until later in the promotion (when this is held around Christmas, usually you can't start opening them until the 25th (Christmas)

There is nothing you can do to prepare for it per say, as help for it comes in the form of Elven Packs (1 pass gets you 2 or 3 additional rolls and a random Present) - so unless you want to start saving Passes and Diamonds...there is nothing you can do to prepare for it.

I detest the Magic Ride, Pinatas,and garden promos. Anything that you have to be on the site all day for. I find it much more fun to have things to do ....sorta like the great challemge or the Potions or wandering horses events.

NOT a fan of the mindless clicking events.

So I haven't been on for a while (school keeps me away), is there still a "timeline of events" thing? I saw we got Percherons (I bought me a girl under a year to begin that), but I don't know where to see what all I've missed is at.

And what BMIs will we be using for the magic ride?

Well obviously its not provable but having the same promotion twice within 6 months seems a bit weird. And I'd be really annoyed if they did. It'd be nice to get something new, something we've never had before and isn't a remake of old promos.

Didn't they have the Owlympics but in 2008? I remember the Horse Cup in 2012 (My one and only time I made it to prepod was for that). I wonder if we'll get something next year

I love the dreaded MR. <3 Than again I had good luck every time it happened. The wandering horses returning would be nice at some point as it has been a long time.

Yes! I have been waiting for so long! Surely they won't do the M___ R___ again this year when the Wandering Horses haven't been since August 2013! They are by far my favourite promo!
