I'm not sure how Violet got through editing/quality control or whatever they use. The anatomy is so off it's not even funny.

I think he's alright, Not my favourite, but if you look back at some of the older divines, these new ones are relatively amazing

Same. Much more well made and much more unique. That's why I liked, and still do like, Isis so much. She's very unique and pretty.

It's like they had multiple sketches for the last few Rainbow Divines and just mish-mashed different parts from different sketches together.
The older Divines still look more...'comprehensive' in their designs to me.
Crossing my fingers that these are just promo pictures and they'll fix up the final image!

The anatomy in those older divines is pretty janky though, which was the part of Mewlii's post I was responding to.
Look at Ocean's tiny head and massive chest. Ruby's chest and neck area are odd too and the way his back leg is bent is unsettling. Sapphire isn't too bad, but his front leg (the bent one), seems way too long with an odd hoof. And check out is back leg - it looks as if it is emerging from his belly like the remnants of a parasitic twin, and Snow has a similar issue with the same back leg except in this case it seems withered beyond what could be accounted for by perspective.
I'm not saying I hate them of course
I just don't think Violet or Indigo look quite so bad, anatomy wise, when you look at all of them together with a critical eye.

Neferka - I think that Indigo's pose is very stiff. It feels like he's trying to do the double chin
And violet is alright except for the ridiculous neck.
If anyone's interested, I spent about 15 minutes redoing Indigo's hair and hind legs. It's far from perfect(I am far, far from the best artist on Howrse) but I think it looks a little better:

I know there are still a ton of anatomical issues(cough cough hind right leg and front left leg) but I don't feel like working on it anymore.

I have to say I'm not a big fan of the Color Divines. Lovely Blue and Forest Green are the only two I remotely like. I much prefer the older divines, such as water and gemstone. Oh I so hope the gemstones will come back in the sales! I want an Onyx and an Opal

I've noticed that all of the promos need at least 10 -20 passes or a REALLY large amount of equus to get the divine at the end. Has there and will there ever be a promo that doesn't need that much? Like something where is you get all of the chances to do something, you win?
Also, I must agree with most of the people on here. The color divines are not that good lookings. Forest Green is gorgeous, but Violet's legs are not matching, and Indigo isn't even indigo, and its neck is WAY too short.

I think they're just as bad, if not worse :P
It also disturbs me more in the new divines, I can't put my finger on why though, but I am suspecting it's because their overall quality is better. They have much more of a "at least they tried"-feeling over it and the shading is nice whilst the new ones look very lazy.

More like.. 25-50 passes
Promos used to be like.. 15-30 (and 30 was expensive!) .... So it's getting more and more expensive >.<

Forest Green looks like it has a ewe neck and massive wither to me
But I think the mane is lovely. It reminds me of mermaid hair seaweed.
Anyway, love the mane on Indigo irene19
I see what you mean about the stiff pose - I think part of it is the back leg for sure (looks like he's fixing to cow kick someone
)
I didn't do anything with the legs in edits I made but I did re-size the head and gave the body a bit more shape...

I have to say though, the more I look at the original Indigo the more it is growing on me.
Still, I'd be curious to see what other edits people would make.

I wonder if perhaps the artist/s are under pressure to produce a lot of promo related work which is why the quality of the most recent rainbow divines is not the same as the earlier ones

Ugh...I prefer the old divines so much more than the new ones. The new ones look so off when it comes to the anatomy. l also love the style of older ones.

I like the really old divines the best (Xanthos, Sleipnir, Croesus) - the newer ones, including the gemstones and water horses look either very bulky or plastic.

Cards and the Lottery are two that come to mind for recurring ones (I got my Balios in the first lottery with only 2 tickets to my name - spent just 100e on a ticket and won one from a competition). Card wise - it's just a matter of being lucky enough to get the ones you need on log in (ex. Mars was a Diamond Prize Card back in 2012 - and since you could get a Diamond Card for logging in/winning a comp. Many players got him. Same with Charming Red in the recent rainbow cards - if players got the cards they needed from log in/winning comps. no need to spend equus/passes for the Divine)
There was also the 'egg' promotion - where the only way to gain points was to log in and have friends/family log in with their accounts (however, I doubt we'll see a return of this promotion as it had a lot of issues. For more information on the Egg - check Dr Zig's forum)

It's not a complete list - only the list of what I found following the White Dot Path.
For a move comprehensive list - check out the forum of a player named tigrelily...they have a rather complete list that I think covers the majority of the maze.
