I visited Tractor Supply for the first time in a little while today, and got a great deal! I found a clearance isle way in the back, and found the Horse Club Washing Area with Emily and Luna (#42438). The only Schleich back there were two of this set. I grabbed one quickly, because it was marked down from $39.99 to $13.99! That's like almost 75% off! I was excited to find this deal...gonna have to remember to check clear back in that corner whenever i visit from now on, as i didn't know there was a tiny clearance shelf back there, let alone one that might contain any Schleichs!default smiley <:o)

That sounds like a great collection! Honestly the best advice we can give is to get the ones that YOU really like lol. That said, i myself tend to like heavier horses, like Tinkers and Friesians and drafts, but i also tend to like those that are more actively posed...ie, not just standing perfectly still (and yes i know they are all "still" being figurines, and yes, you all know what i meandefault smiley xd). Although even those can still be lovely.default smiley ^)

Welcome! There is a ton of selection, particularly if you look into the retired ones, like on Ebay and such. I tend to collect mostly the singular figurines, as i find the sets are usually too high priced for me! Unless you find a really good clearance section, which i do from time to time!

Ok so i'm not going on my trip until this weekend, but i did score a great deal on a couple of new, but old, Schleichs on Ebay, and have now gotten them in!

Click to display
Number one that i got is this old Black Panther, who was available from 1995 to 2001.

The second one i got is the old Arabian stallion, available from 2001 to, well i'm seeing different dates of his retirement, so i'm not 100% sure...a couple sources say 2008, and my collector's book that was printed in 2009 says he was still available as of 09, but somewhere in that era he retired lol. Maybe he was one of those celebrities that retires and comes back a few different times!default smiley xd

I must say that the stallion i got has a lot less of the white socks on the back legs...its there but definitely much less! However, both of these older models are brand spanking new, in perfect condition, with tags. In fact, the stallion is still in his original plastic package with the cardboard still between all four legs. Typically i take my models out of their plastic to display on my shelves, but i may not with this guy. He has spent so many years in his original packaging, that i kinda almost feel wrong about ripping him open now. Like it would be a shame. I don't know. Maybe someday i'll take him out! For now he will just have to look funny in his plastic wedged in between all my other open horsies ha ha.default smiley :p

Well those are the two i got for now! This weekend i'm going on my trip, and going to a store with a ginormous amount of both Schleich and Breyer, and my friend is gonna let me pick something out for my early birthday present...so fingers crossed i'll have a great new shiny to share next week!

Wow, this Equestrian Forum is getting smaller and smaller! I hope they don't completely do away with it and delete this ancient topic thread!default smiley :s

Well, here is what i got on my recent trip! And i will more in the future at some point! But for now, here they are (with large pics):

Click to display
So, i got a few new Schleich! First off, i picked up the little Bichon Frise! Little guy! I remember the one from one of the Shrek movies...i think the second or third. The one with the Fairy Godmother. That one is probably my favorite movie of the series lol. Anywho...here it is!

Next i got the new Gazelle! I think it must be like the gazelle family's long lost daddy because the older gazelle (and baby) i've had for a long time has much smaller horns!

This last one i am most excited about! I knew i really wanted it as soon as i heard it was a new one for 2023...Its the Harpy Eagle! Such cool large birds!

So that's it for the Schleichs this go around, but i also got a couple Breyers! First is the Red Dun Pintaloosa from this year's Freedom series. I couldn't seem to find a good pic of him that wasn't extremely huge, so hopefully this one will work:

And then finally i got this guy, as an early birthday present from my friend!default smiley ^) It's the 2023 Spring Decorator model, Washington!

That's it for now, but i'll be back!default smiley :-))

I finally got this one in the mail! Its Santino, Breyer's new Collector's Club Exclusive Gambler's Choice (polo pony)!

Wondering which i got? Well i didn't get my first choice, which was the one on the far left (bay manchado), but i got my second choice, which is the pretty chestnut appy on the far right!default smiley :)default smiley (7)

Ok, carry on!default smiley :p
