for some reason the Schleich dog models seem to have shrunk quite a bit compared to older ones

i believe they changed them to be more in scale with the horses. some of the older bigger dogs (if i remember correctly because i dont have any) are the same size of a pony. so they scaled them down a bit. same goes for a lot of barn animals all the ones i have are quite small.

how many schleich horses do y’all have?

all of them including doubles, repaints and fairytale horses is 272
without the above mentioned horses its 245

Hmmm, i suppose that's a good enough reason, but i still don't like it.default smiley xd I mean, they don't have to be huge or anything, but i thought the older size was fine. They lose detail when they are smaller too, or at least it seems like it to me. Also, some of the smaller creatures, like frogs and snakes, mice and guinea pigs and rodents, for example, are larger because if they made them to the same scale as the horses, it'd be ridiculous. They don't HAVE to be exact that way. But i suppose some, such as those who play with them as toys (i just collect), would prefer them to be sized down. Different strokes for different folks ha ha.

I think you'd have to hit up either flea markets, garage sales, or Ebay, and then get EXTREMELY lucky lol.

Nor have i ever seen a website with fake schleich models, but thought i'd check it out to see how it works so that maybe i could spot such things in the future...as it is i cannot even get the page to come up. Its like it doesn't exist or is spelled wrong or something. Oh well, probably for the best anyway. Who knows what might come with downloading such a site as that.default smiley :o

So they actually claim to be real Schleich models, made by Schleich, and try to pass them off as such? Crazy.

well they tend to take schleichs molds and either recolour or give them the exact colour as schleich but they usually wont go so far as to claim that they are schleichs.
but they are very clearly ripoffs.
here is an ali express one it has ripoffs of sevral horse models including exclusives. i found it by searching schleich on aliexpress.
