[Known Issue] Promotional/Advertisement Videos



HellOw everyone,

You may have noticed that the promotional/advertising videos on the Pass purchase page hasn't been working lately.

The team is aware of this issue and is currently investigating the issue. I'll update this topic as soon as the issue is resolved.

The videos are still available in the Android & iOS Howrse apps.

I haven’t been able to watch the promotional ads since I made this account.. it’s getting quite annoying as I’ve been needing 2** tack for my daily objectives and have none thanks to this.

I’ve never had any issue watching the ad videos. I do all 3 every time it’s available (sometimes it says 23ish hours to the next video, sometimes less depending on when I watched last I guess) and I’ve received some great rewards default smiley (y) I play on the app most often but occasionally check in on classic on the browser but I’ve never tried watching ads there. Personally I think it’s good to be familiar with both versions to get the best gameplay. I’ve been pretty happy so far with almost everything and it’s so convenient to have an app version, when I first played over a decade ago it was so hard to make money and do things and took forever to progress with a lot of stuff. I played for a couple years and never had near the bulk of account that I have now after just over a month on my new account. It’s been a lot more enjoyable and I hope to keep playing for a long time.

You need the app for them to work not just the mobile version.

Honestly may as well just remove this feature at this point, it serves no purpose and Cleary is not a priority to get fixed

Well, according to the Q&A on DIscord they have zero intention of fixing them for PC. Not sure why they even decided to give the players false hope by pretending like they were working on it.

I wish they'd get rid of the annoying flashing banner at the top advertising a broken feature they have no intention of fixing, in that case. :/

Hi everyone,

To keep this thread updated with the most recent information, I'm sharing below a response from the Game Dev Q&A that took place in the official Howrse discord server.


Regarding the rewarded videos, we are aware of the current limitations of what we offer. Until we find better browser-based alternatives, we've decided to restrict this feature to the mobile app only. It's technically more and more complicated to offer videos on a web platform, so we're finding it difficult to offer something. For the time being, we have no plans to work on this issue.

I will update this thread again with any information or updates that I receive.

Oh. default smiley :( I had been hoping to use these videos to get the colored tack. Can the ads for it be removed in the Web platform then? And more ways to get matching tack? The events never give out matching sets.

Hi! I keep having issues when purchasing passes and packs on the app - i get the money taken from my account and told it’s successful but the items are never credited to my account. This has happened twice now and I have reported to support, fingers crossed the bug is fixed soon and I get my items.

Mobile app doesn't seem to be working for me either. Shows the ad and then no popups or anything telling me I got something. App is up to date, Android 10.

Hi, This is a purchase issue, not a promotional video issue. You'll need to send a request to Contact Us for help with purchase issues.
