The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Hello everyone! I'd just like to introduce myself since I've been lurking for awhile.
I'm Mac or AMC, I've had an account on Howrse for a year now and am starting to get back into things a bit after a very stressful 2024 (I believe a lot of people can agree. ><)
My current going project is 9Gen Immortal/Coated RG Lusi, a few RG Vintage coat Shetlands starting to scatter about outside of that, as well as my non-NIB Chinco project that will have foundies scattered here and there if applicable.
Going back to the Lusi- I've officially reached enough for 10 pairs and have blupped 8 almost 9-10 of those 20, so it's pretty smooth so far. ❤
I've been asked about Discord before and unfortunately, due to personal reasons, I will not be joining for the moment. But if I'm ever needed you can catch me here.
Merry (belated) Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I'm quitting my short-lived NIB Arabs project. Anyone want some foundie and second-gen Arabs for free?

I have TB and apaloosa and Newfoundland NIB 1st and second Gen. Both studs and mares except for just one appy. Please DM me if you would like to work with me on my very small project. Two of my TB 1st Gen are imortal so they will always be able to produce NIB foals. Since they are twins I can't breed then together butbI have a second Gen TB stud. I'm curious to see how this goes.

I am somethimes in debate wheter I just shall make a Foundie collection of al kind of different breeds. I was planning on breeding with the Curlies later on, but the RG GP is raising so fast it feels it doesn't make sence anymore.

I like that I just can choose the breed/colour/gender with the champion seed from my yellow dwarfs. Maybe I should try to go for more unpopulair breeds. default smiley (lol)

Vaporeon, have you considered line breeding after you finish your pyramid? That way you are breeding to the new GP constantly. You take your generational horse, breed it to a new foundation, then that foal will breed to a higher GP foundation. Great way to breed with the RG continuously jumping up. I enjoy it with my Knabstrupper line, it changes things up from my normal breeding.

Hope everyone's projects are progressing! My Standie and Misaki projects seem to be my most active at the moment. Getting my 1st gen Standies all worked up to hopefully get a 2nd gen on the ground this year.

Hello all! I hope your NIB projects are moving along. I've been making some noce progress on my Misaki and Standie lines, while still chipping away at the Holsties, Haffies, and Newfs.

We are trying to organize scheduled Filler parties every other Tuesday and Saturday. If anyone is interested in participating, feel free to shoot me a PM so I can coordinate with you! Most of the communication is currently on Discord, but I know not everyone is interested in that. So I am more than happy to do so through PMs.

Wishing you all luck in progressing your projects!

Call it nostalgia, but I remember in the past there was an active NIB community. Same with negative GP breeding. I loved that as well. Now it is all so pointless or impossible. Thinking of selling them all and do something else. Collecting GA/RC coats seems more of a big thing. And that is also supported on the game by Howrse.

NIBing has always taken time and has always been at a disadvantage to the GP race that doesn't make it impossible just makes it more of a challenge. As for being pointless that is a matter of opinion. There is a community still though just most are alot more busy now. I mean I started NIBing back when I was 13 and had plenty of time to spend on the game after I did my homework and chores. As an adult now though..I don't have that much free time which I imagine is the same for other long standing members of the NIB community. So try not to get discouraged if your project is taking awhile it is the same way for the rest of us.

Hope everyone's projects are going well! Seems I've been making more progress on growing my Haffie herd, getting my Standies trained up, working on the Misaki herd, chipping away at the Newfies and working on getting wins for my Chincos the most. Really need to focus on breeding in the coming months, my ready to breed pile is getting a little out of control.

Is anyone working with the new foundy Friesians, with GP of 9555?

I have one if anyone's interested. I haven't done anything with it.
Just send me a pm.

Hey all! I have a fully blupped foundation Percheron mare that I have been unable to find a stud for. If anyone has a stallion that could breed, I would be willing to use a fertility wand on the covering and sell one of the foals for half the cost of the wand! PM me to set up details if you’re interested.

What are the thoughts on having the starter twins' lines eventually cross again after a few gens? Does it NIB?

To be offically NIB, no, they can not cross back into the line after a few breedings. What we consider a NIB, there mist be no repeats anywhere in the family tree. New foundations or non-related NIB must be added to continue the line. BUT for your own purposes and personal breeding projects, you most certainly can!

Are you speaking about continuing a NIB line for your Standies? I love working with the Standies, they are a fun breed! I have an OG (350-351.2 GP) line I am currently working on. Glad to see potential for an RG line starting up! Good luck!
