It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Thanks for making this topic! default smiley :-))
I have been breeding NIB Thoroughbreds for a long time now, and enjoy it as it is challenging, albeit very time consuming, and I can work at my own pace.
I currently only use my own stock for breeding, as I did end up with many outside bred horses with holes in their family tree (darn the disappeared horse!).
I have thought about going into cross breeds, but I figure it would take too long to train up enough foundies of the other breed.... (potential breeding partners???)

Anyway enough of my rambling, I'll end with a bit of a brag.
My highest gp horse so far is Object d'or who currently has a gp of 363.58 before games. I was thrilled!

Great topic! I kinda collect foundies... when I started, I began NIBreeding arabs, but stopped that to breed unis, and then ec boosters. I've decided to start NIBing again with morgans, but it will be a slow project!

Yay, I'm so glad we finally have an NIB topic default smiley :d! I'm working on NIB Marwari/Shetland crosses. So far I have the 1st gen foals, just need to stock up enough BMs to train them, easier said than done, I have way too many breeding projects default smiley (lol). The foals turned out pretty nice though, all their skills are nearly even except for trot, which is low.

I would like to breed NIB Friesians. I was on here before but deleted my account due to personal life issues default smiley :) what fun. But anyway does anyone have a 100 bluped foundation friesian that could help me? I'm trying to blup my mare before I try and breed her. Later I will be looking for foundations to by so I know that my stock isn't going to disappear.

I could use a little help before I breed my mare though. I want to have her at 100 blup and breed her to a 100 blup foundie or NIB but I've never bluped a horse even in my old game. I'm running her in her worst skills for competition and haven't done much training to keep her ranked with unskilled horses in hopes she can gain enough wins before I bold her skills. Anything else I should try? So far the comps thing is working though she hasn't won 1st yet. And I know this doesn't go here so PM me, sorry. Help from anyone is appreciated.

Get all of her formal training (not rides or comps) finished in speed and get her gallop skill to about 8-10, then enter her in gallop and trot races. She should do well default smiley :)

ya I guess keeping all the family history.. But wouldn't that be alot of horses??


I have thought before getting a screen shot of the family so there was proof they where pure. and also wright down all the horses numbers. But I'm not sure when the horse disappeared the number gets deleted as well... or the number is given to a new horse...

I have been breeding NIB since way back when I started as well with Hanoverians, but I have to admit I'm pretty slow. Right now I'm working on a fully black line with even generations, and I have a third generation (8 foundation) horse so far.

I also dabble in Purebred Spanish Horses, Friesians, Marwari, Peruvian Pasos, Morgans, and Brumbies (aka any horse that I have "produced" a foundation of)

I'm looking forward to 'bragging' a little and connecting with other NIBers in this topic default smiley :d

I hope it is okay to mention this.

There has been an offsite NIB Breeders listing for a long time. It has gotten a little out of date but with the interest being revived in NIB breeding I am sure that can be corrected fairly quickly (I know I haven't corrected my listing recently and it needs it as I have changed breeds and am now going to be concentrating only on NIB Morgans). It is a great place to seeing who the other NIB breeders are in the breeds you work with, advertise horses for sale or horses wanted, contact others with your same breeds, and other uses. Would be wonderful to get this reactivated as another resource.

This topic is listing information not included in the NIB offsite listing, so using them together would be a wonderful way to get the NIB community together. It is often so hard to find out who else is NIBing your breed for exchanging coverings, etc.

Good luck to everyone. I've been doing NIB breeding since I started playing 2 1/2 years ago and find it challenging and lots of fun. I tried IB breeding for a short time and got bored. Now I'm starting generational NIB breeding of Morgans and getting out of PSHes.

Hello all. Been out so haven't noticed this post till now. I am very happy to see a NIBing forum default smiley :-))

I have been rather deterred from NIBing as of late as most of my fellow arabian breeders of disappeared or changed course default smiley :@. I have started picking up on connies recently but haven't done any breeding in that area. My highest arabian is a stud named Sleepless dawn with a 359+ GP and over 100 IBS, he is 3rd gen (the way I count) meaning his parents are 2nd gen (duh default smiley (lol)) and their parents are foundation or 1st gen. Other players sometimes don't count foundations at all and consider my 2nd gens to be their 1st gens so it throws me off. default smiley (lol)

My highest connie I purchased recently for a bit more than I intended and her GP is 360 as a 3rd gen (my counting default smiley (lol)).

Yay for a NIB post again default smiley ;)

For those wanting to get into NIB breeding, I keep an updated list of Foundation Hanoverians in the auctions in my forum. I will be expanding this list to include other breeds as well, so keep an eye out.

I had started NIB for a while myself, but my main deterrent was the fact that they did not sell as well as the inbred horses. So like many others, I grabbed up a few high GP horses and bred them.

I have a bunch of foundies yet, and have been thinking about restarting my NIB program. But most days I just log on to take care of the 8-legged spider/horse and log back off.

It is true that the horses do not fetch good prices in the sales. The fact is, though, if enough people get interested in NIB horses, these horses retain their value better, as even if they are way behind in GP, they may contain lines that someone could use in their program.

Foundations I find will sell higher than further generations as people are afraid of broken lines, and with foundations they can ensure that those horses will not lose ancestors. This makes it harder to collaborate, as when any other breeder quits the game, you can potentially lose months of work with broken lines, so lots of NIBers go it on their own.

I'm hoping that there will be more awareness brought about in this topic so possibly some good breeding partnerships can be formed and the overall value (selling and GP) will increase.

I breed NIB shetlands. I was breeding NIB Barbs but found it was too time consuming to do two breeds. I haven't been on as much lately because of the Christmas but I am definitely still sticking with it!

I was a NIB welsher I still have all my NIB welshies but I am sure they are not the highest GP for NIB anymore.......especially since I stopped breeding NIB welshies years ago.default smiley xd
