So in all this wood thing will be in the long run the best material to keep as the boxes and building will always be in need of repair but once your trout is done I gues you don't need another unless you add 1 bmore box wich will need wooddefault smiley (lol). So I guest that I will keep my woody E.C.
Thank you bri2009 for your insight default smiley ;)

Why are people complaining about stuff that hasnt even been said?

I havent seen a gripping topic in the last 3 pages, and people are jumping on imaginary post.

Excuse me if a couple people dont like the manure/mash, we do have a right to say so.

I like my having my EC at the beach, but is sand of any use once you have your buildings up? Is it needed for repairs?

Yes, it is needed for repairs.

All resources have more than one purpose - so there will always be a need:

for example:

Click to display
Iron is needed to repair boxes with showers (not sure about those without) - as well as to craft tack.

Wood and Sand are needed to repair all kinds of buildings.

I'd like to point out, that the times in this are not the ones that are on preprod now.
The ones we have now are much longer.
An example:
Click to display
showers now take 3 days to craft instead of just 12 hours

It's possible that those times are test times...For example; to test out cows - the growing time was reduced to 1 hour as opposed to its proper 30 days (When launched here - they will take the 30 days)

As we get closer to launch - Howrse might have posted the proper times (or changed some of them)

Well, if people claim it's the end of Howrse as we know it, they're quite right. It's always the end of Howrse as we know it, if something is changed. That's kinda the definition of change - that something is not like you know it afterwards. default smiley ;)

but change is inevitable and it helps the game move forward and be more realistic.

I'd like to contest the 'more realistic' part of that sentence.
The EC I used to ride at didn't craft tractors. They bought one. At the mechanic. Who bought it. From a factory.... that builds tractors...
They also 'upgrade' their boxes to be bigger - and don't destroy the building and make new ones.
They also don't use their boarders Shetland pony to log wood. Or collect sand.
Their boxes aren't built just outta sand and wood. Their boxes use iron too, in the steel nails and screws they use, to hold those boxes together..
(Not gonna continue further down this road, because it is endless...)

We couldn't possibly know as they are a couple months away yet. You will need to wait and see.

I wish there'd be a way to stick a note to the bottom of this topic, saying that drafts are not part of the next update - so there is no info to be found about this here.
No body would read it, and if they did, they would turn it around to suit themselves.

Every one, in clouding time line, said in future updates. But it got turned to this one real quick.default smiley :d

For those curious about Resources and other items and what/how they will be used for. I have compiled a list of each Resource and what it is used for. It does NOT cover how much of each is needed to make something, how long it takes, etc. It is simply a list of all items - and what they are used for (apologies if I missed anything):

Click to display
If an item is listed under more than one category, it means that it takes all of those things to Craft/Repair the item in question (so for example; Saddles are listed both under Leather and Iron as they take both of these)

Wood

Repairs:

Boxes
Workshops
Greenhouses

Crafting:

Boxes
Workshops
Greenhouses

Iron

Repairs:

Boxes (With showers and/or troughs - not sure if its used for those without showers/troughs)

Crafting:

Saddles (any kind)
Bridles (any kind)
Shower
Water trough
Feed trough
Tractor

Spurs bonus

Sand

Wheat Bran:

Flax Seed:

As for Realism - if this game followed that, we wouldn't have Unicorns, Pegasus, or Divines default smiley ;).

I've come to think of the EC side of things as a sort of town that works together to thrive and survive. I use the horses at my center to haul goods into town and to the workshops. The workshops use these goods to make things for me and tractors and troughs for the farmers. The Farmers are using some of my land to grow food for everyone (and the horses, etc)

If they pull through with their insane pass demanding stuff, I will gladly DESTROY my EC (let it run down to 100% wear and tear, ruin my meadows or destroy them, etc).

I enjoy the not Realism part of the game. It makes it more enjoyable than just a few horses and no special things like that.
ShorahNagi, it is fun to design my EC inside of my head. I enjoy thinking about it and when the horses have a little extra time they help out with hauling things! At times, they will help the people who work at my EC get the competitions ready. Like my rosette competition has to be worked on once a day for the daily competition.

Those are two methods that are available now, but a post by Ow about the UFOs says "To let you discover them and their benefits, for roughly two weeks they will be flying around the site as UFOs.
Catch them and enjoy 5 days worth of contract."
And for find them in HoPs there is a promo banner at the top of the test site that says they can be found in HoPs until the 21st Feb.
So I don't think the employees will always be able to be found in HoPs/as UFOs.
