I think that we should be able to crossbreed and it show the cross breed, so like maybe a Gypsy Vanner x Australian Pony would equal a pony with the fur on their hooves, like the Gypsy Vanner. And a cross between, say, a Paint and an Appaloosa shouldn't be one or the other, it should be a Pintaloosa! Like it's coat a mix between spots and patches! It may be hard to do, but I think that ow could do it if they tried hard enough! Other than that, great job OW! I really love the game!default smiley :)default smiley ;)

Draft horses are heavy horses like Clydesdales and Shire horses. They will be added into the game after the updates in February. Their looks and information is still unknown.

I use the meadows all the time and it saves on fodder at my own EC and others. You'd be surprised how much fodder it saves and the equates out to equus in planting meadows. default smiley :)

After a little hunting around the Internet - I've come across two images that might have just shed the most light possible on Draft Horses:

and

Like when the Balios Trophy updated to saying 6 (but only showing 5) before the 6th one (Volcanic) was released - both of these images were chalked up to being a hiccup in the system that caused them to show early.

If these images are true, then this means that Draft Horses are going to be an actual breed that we can care for and work just like the current set of horses (they will just be their own breed like Pony, Unicorn, etc.). Of course, beyond this - there is no way of knowing if they will be able to interbreed with the other species (excluding Donkeys) or if they will be like Donkeys and can only breed with other Drafts.

Alaya the horses that are circled are the ones that are going to be the horse breeds I think.

By Retired breeder, 19th January 2015 17:32:30

What do you mean I don't understand your question?
By Retired breeder, 19th January 2015 18:19:16
maid:3 you should ask on a forum called gameplay.

No one knows for sure yet

Actually, that is a spoiler. Knowing how many skills Wave will have is unknown to the players so that question is perfectly fine in here.
By Retired breeder, 19th January 2015 18:21:56
maid:3 was probably asking about what skills wave will have, and no, it wouldnt fit in gameplay rosettepinestables. NObody knows what waves skills are yet, because one wasnt born yet. SKills vary.

I am 99% sure Howrse is going to be adding Draft horses in the future. It was on upcoming changes.

Well okay, that might be because I rarely board in my own EC x)
And even if with 500k of fodder saved up it will be a while till I'll feel my funds dropping because of that.

But okay, I get the point now x)

I can't really notice a problem with removing meadows money-wise guys.

As much as I understand many people (including me) often relies on boxes/meadows for energy and morale gains I honestly don't remember when was the last time I used meadows as a food source.

With over 300 AP horses (which might not be much compared to some but still... it's quite a few) I manage to GAIN money by boarding them in EC's that offer at least fodder and preferably grains.
If you make sure to board in ones that are 20e per night you'll gain at least 10e per a day, as I've never seen EC with lessons lower than 30e.

Using meadow while you own more than few horses is an awful time consumer (considering you're doing at least lessons with your AP horses) as you need to split feeding in two (fodder on meadow, grains fed normally)

So again, I understand concerns about energy/morale gains, even if they'll probably be revised somehow, but it doesn't make sense money-wise at all for me.

This is the problem .. how long do you think it will take for players to realize that they are being taken advantage of and raise their Boarding fees. If a player can not put their horse into a meadow to feed it and has to depend on fodder and grains very few will want to utilize their own ECs and choose to board to keep their own EC stocked for skilling etc

I use pasture feeding all the time and find it no more time consuming except in the winter when pastures are minimal

I feel that this is just another ploy by Howrse to force players to use their equus/resources and not be able to free feed their stock.

Well, if they raise fees too much, they'll loose boarders, that's my thinking.
To be honest I always thought that it's a bit weird that we're supposed to buy our own food for horses we board, so this seems much more natural for me. default smiley ;)
I might come of as a greedy in here x) But really, I don't feel like I'm stealing from EC's or something when using their feed. If they are offering more then average (let's say tack) I'm all in for raising prices, but every middle-sized EC should be able to provide enough feed for horses they have boarded.
Still, the biggest issue for now seems to be a strict "5 meadows limit" if this was lifted, EC's wouldn't have a problem with providing all boarders with food. (Rain, Scarecrows and such seem to help a bit, but I'd still love to see some more meadows available for people with more boxes)

(and ugh, I had this avatar since a year or so, still no arm pats x) )

It is very difficult to find ecs that charge 20e and offer food, almost impossible. Its more like 50 a day, abd you are lucky to find that with oats and fodder.

Depends on what time of a day you're looking at.
I never have a problem with it usually till 5-6pm GMT, after that it get's touch x)
And I'm talking about AP horses, so it works for non-skilled ones too.

What it has done for me is to change all or most of my boxes to my Divines only with only the most elite.

All others I am actually letting them not board at all and only using the 1 or 3 day options for when I really need them in an EC. My prestige on my EC has actually gone up so it looks like this is the right formula.

This has cut down my expense considerably. Just no more 30 day boarding in outside ECs.

I win, they lose.

This is probably an off-topic question considering everyone's seriousness over the EC changes and stuff, but does anyone know if or when the next divines are going to be in the reserved sales?
