When are the ec changes taking place?

Not any time soon; When they announced the changes they said it was still in the planning (and probably still is).. Which is why they let us give feedback/suggest things for them to add.

Making all the graphics, coding, testing etc will take months.. default smiley :)

Is it just me, or does it seem like the face has an odd 3/4ths going on with the muzzle/forehead not on the same plane. It seems to me like the nose area is on the barely 3/4ths view, and the forhead/eye area is more of the true 3/4th view (making them look really, just off putting IMO)

Also lightening up some of the lines/shadows on the face would help make it not look like it's kinda sickly, the warmblood art's face look fuller and much healither, so I know the howrse artist can do very good work default smiley :) This just doesn't seem like it was their best, and could just use some improvements.

Evlon,

Howrse has never been able to do stock breeds accurately. Never. Not for years, not since the game was even released. Like I said, it's as if the artists have never seen a stock horse in their lives.

Love the Spanish breeds and the new warmbloods. They look great. But the stock breeds, from day 1, have been nothing short of an insult to the real horse.

It's the new sprite for all the American stock breeds, if I'm not mistaken. Quarters, paints, appies... They all have the same exact look. Again. Nothing unique except their pattern.

looks like most the Quarters and Paints in Colorado except doesn't have the super skinny (ugly) necks they are breeding for now. I agree they should have a different image for an Appy, but suppose it's like the last time they changed coats, too many variations to change them all.

Their bodies are fine, but their necks are way too thin and their heads are way too big. I think it might be the beady, bat eyes. I'm not saying stock horses have huge arabian eyes, but they don't have eyes fit for a snake either.

Basically the Golden apple coats Must now reflect what the species of equid is.
If you have a pegasus it will be a Pegasus Golden Apple coat
If it a Unicorn it will be a Uni GA coat
If it is a horse it will be a Horse GA coat
The new kicker is..
If you have Horse GA coat and then decide to give Medusa blood .. you loose the GA coat
If you have a pony GA coat and decide to give it Medusa blood.. you lose the pony GA coat
Just like during promos If you have GA uni and dehorn it turning it into a horse.. you lose the GA Unicorn coat, If you have a pegasus and pluck its wings turning it into a horse you lose your Pegasus GA coat

Just...To make sure I'm grasping this...Pretty sure I have it now, thanks to that explaination, thank you so much default smiley :)

If I want a winged GA coat...I have to put MB on a horse/pony FIRST and THEN I can select a winged GA coat...But if I pick a GA coat (sans wings) and put MB on...Poof goes the GA coat?
So it's really one or the other now, isin't it....? If you want a GA coat but don't like the ones with wings, you can never turn that horse into a pegasus....?

Sorry....Slow but I get there in the end. Hopefully I'm there this time lol default smiley (o)

All the ranch cowboys here want their Quarter & Paints to have *pencil* necks, say it's an advantage for faster turns when working cattle. It's a major selling point at ranch horse sales...I just find it ugly, but maybe that's just me (not a fan of quarters/paints, their gait is too choppy for my back issues). Perhaps Howrse is just following the current *designer* mode that is showing up in horses, dogs, cats, etc . And yes, I agree, the eyes aren't quite big enough.

These horses have too small of a neck and too big of a head. It looks like they cut the head and neck off at the body and put a different head and neck on them. They look like those animals that you see in the back windows of peoples cars, you know the ones where you tap the head and it wobbles, sorry but not trying to be mean, just honest default smiley :-x

No horseman worth their salt would buy a horse like that in real life. Just saying. Those horses have terrible conformation....

They often have a lot of anatomy issues... Often the backs are too short, the legs are strangely shaped, so are the heads.... So it doesn't really surprise me that they often make breeds look nothing like the breed at all.

Precisely. The Shetlands look like they're blind or something. The paint and quarter horses look like puppets.
Oh wow, now I sound like a real hater, lol.
But the fact is that I am an artist, and I do portraits of people's horses, and I cannot say that I've ever seen a horse that looks like any of these...

@3HorseGal: I think it may be the position of the head that is the issue XD It's too far forward, especially since it's 3/4 view (if that makes sense). The mane and forelock seem a bit too short as well, although that is probably just a matter of individual preference I guess.
Apart from being too far forward I think the head is quite nice default smiley :)

I made a few edits real quick as an example (I hope that's ok howrse >__< ).

I shrunk its behind a bit too, but it still looks a little too big imo lol

the closest things that the current horses (mostly the ones like KWPNs or QHs) look like they are in pain and got hit by a truck to the face, and as my dad says "Are they starving those QHs?" (he used to breed Arabs so QHs are a chunky breed to him in his opinion) The horses have serious confirmation issues, so I am welcoming the new coats they look better, not perfect but much better

I really do like the new version of the QH, Appaloosa, and Paint horses a *lot* better than our current ones. Their heads are finally proportionally correct! To me, the 3/4 view of the face *might* work. It's almost as if the horse has its head slightly turned, which is normal. I would also suggest a chunkier neck, and a fuller tail. The mane is a tad bit short, too. I personally own and have owned Quarter Horses, and I have to say, this version of the stock breeds, even if they don't correct the small details, is a huge improvement and I would be nothing but happy with it.
