What's the test version btw?
The test version is like another server. It's a copy of this Howrse server, but from a few weeks ago. (maybe a few days, but I' pretty sure it's from more than a week ago.)

You are given passes and equus, and you try out the new features. (Promos, etc.)

Having players test it helps Howrse figure out and fix the glitches.

Here is my best guess based on the evidence. I predict that nothing is going to happen to the DA coats. They are going to remain untouched.

If you pay close attention to the image files, you'll notice that DA coats are JPGs on opaque backgrounds and the current base graphics (horses without coats) are PNGs on transparent backgrounds. If you pay even closer attention, you'll notice that all GA coats released between 2008 and 2010 are also JPGs on opaque backgrounds, but all GA coats that have been released since 2011 are PNGs on transparent backgrounds. Now take a moment to think about why.

The answer is actually pretty simple. All DA coats and all GA coats from 2008 to 2010 are relics from an older version of Howrse that Owlient has graciously allowed us to keep. They are not interactive with the current version. They are displayed in simple boxes and picture frames. They cannot be given Helios' Rays. They will never wear visible tack. In fact, we are very lucky to still have those historic relics at all because they are totally out of sync with Owlient's current mission to make Howrse more immersive. Since Owlient has already put a great deal of thought and effort into allowing us to keep them, I have no fear that they will suddenly change when the base graphics do.

There is other evidence. Certain promos allow us to remove the wings from a Pegasus and the horn from a unicorn. During those promos, if you remove the wings from a Pegasus with a GA or RC, then the coat will be lost and the horse or pony will revert back to the base graphic. Likewise, if you remove the horn from a unicorn with a GA or RC, then the coat will be lost and the horse or pony will revert back to the base graphic. The same pattern continues when you remove the wings from a Pegasus with a DA or the horn from a unicorn with a DA. That is very strong evidence that Owlient has already been treating DAs like coats for some time. I predict they will continue to do so.

DAs are historic relics that are treated like coats. We will not lose any GAs or RCs or other special coats when the new base graphics are released. I think it goes to follow that our DAs will remain untouched, as well. I'm banking on it! I have a priceless foundation Peruvian Paso unicorn with a truly one of a kind DA coat. I expect it to remain in place when all of the changes occur. - TheSilverUnicorn

I disagree. I think the picture frames are just a temporary fix.

What is the parade pack?
By Retired breeder, 13th March 2014 17:18:07
What do the new Gypsy Vanners look like on the Test Version? Can someone put a picture up?
The Parade Pack's page says: "For the next 26 days 15 hours, open a Parade Pack and win additional equipment for your contest horses. Each pack contains 2 common gear, 2 rare gear, 1 very rare gear, 1 exceptional gear. With a bit of luck, you might even win a gold piece of equipment or a new horse you can equip for the contest!"

As of right now the Gypsy Vanners still look the same. Plus, all of my horses on the test server has changed back to the old graphics. I am assuming this is because there were some problems and the Howrse team is now working on it.

Does anyone know when the ec changes will be taking place? They sound quite cool, and so do all the others...however, I kinda miss the old howrse. I've been on howrse for about 2 years and I've experienced like, 3 or 4 massive changes in 2 years (which is a lot, not to mention the numerous small changes)

Anyone have a picture of the new Lusitano coats?
Retired breeder wrote:

I posted one at the top of page 69. Or at least, that's what it looked like yesterday - all coats appear to have reverted back to normal at the moment, so no idea whether it'll definitely be that one again.

Looks nothing like a highland pony. I've known about this for a while now, since the beta servers were just about opened. The "highland pony" sprite needs to replace monstrosity that is the new stock breed sprite, as it's more appropriate for the breed. Look at that tiny, little neck, trying to support a boulder of a head. And that ratty tail and mane!
.
It's as if they're not even using the same artists as the ones who illustrated the spanish breeds and the warmblood breeds. Either that or the artist has never seen a stock horse in his or her life.
