I can't say much on the uni issue as I'm not a competitive breeder. Already tons of players have higher GP Morgan unis than I do. Mostly because I breed with my Qilin rather than inbreed with each other and I only breed on the 1st of the month and only if they have a Hestia's Gift. I still make a decent penny off of ones I sell.

Dressagegirl: "Such as the bringing in of an item that lets you get 1 more coat of a retired RC"
Click to display

What item are you referring to? The only thing I remember involving that was putting up old RC-coats in a christmas pack so people can choose with old almost non-existent RC coat they wanted, but that idea was changed due to total outrage. And they didn't promise anything,I believe the admin on test-server said:

"Due to the response we wont be launching the RCs in Christmas packs ,but I cant promise we wont do similar thing in the future."

I had a screenshot of Ows comment but it went poof when my system crashed sigh...

@Shi

Yes thats the item. People say "oh no howrse brought in the Vintage Apple to remedy that". If you believe that malarky you havent been playing long enough. I had an account long ago in 2008. We were promised - No winged unis, no drafts, and no donkeys. Also promised that passes would be consistent and not needed to get far in the promos and finish if wanted. We were also promised that the graphics would be the same, and that the promos would be "less frequent and more player rated".

If you believe that they will never pull this idea out again, you are disillusioned my friend. They will bide their time and release the new pass changes for everyone to lose their minds over. The markets will be in disarray and just when things start to gain a wee bit of value again, BOOM here it comes. No more pass horses for profit, no more uni profits, no more RC profits. Though I suspect it will be the reintroduction of a modified DA that will come and ruin DAs for people.

Hello Asfridur,

Thank you for your in depth message regarding the unicorn foals from the divine, Kaktos. Unfortunately, the information that you wish to know is confidential internal information, which cannot be shared. From my review of this matter, there's nothing wrong with the genetic potential that the foals are receiving. However, I will gladly send all of comments to the rest of the team for them to consider. Though, I cannot promise they will agree to make any changes.

You can contact support again via a brand-new request for any other questions or problems you encounter that is unrelated to the one mentioned above. Good luck.

Crossing fingers that they can see there IS an issue with this. But I doubt it.

I'm not a pass buyer. Never was. But I don't support this change AT ALL...
As people have said before, it is going to devalue the pass way too much. Because they will suddenly become way common than before, everything will go up in price. It wouldn't be fair to have horses sold for max 20 passes. They would have to increase the max pass price on horses to balance it out. This makes absolutely zero sense. The prices of BMIs would have to increase. In theory, they would have to triple the pass price on everything, rendering this change useless. If they didn't increase the pass price on items, this game would be very unfair, and way too easy. I enjoy the challenge, and even though I still am not too great, I was once a terrible newbie and I worked to get to where I am now. If they did change the loyalty pass system, I would change it to 1 pass every 20/30 days. That would make it easier, but not necessarily ruin the economy

No need to be snappy. There is no "will never happen" in the game business.I am not delusional so please, keep those insults to yourself.

DA may come back. They said back they may re-introduce it when they find a way to take away all the issues some people had with it.

I'd actually really like to see DAs come back, but not the RCs, that would be the worst thing Howrse could ever do. I'm not sure if it'd ruin the DA market, since the new DA would most likely be for the current graphics, but honestly I wouldn't care that much if my DAs dropped from being worth a bunch down to reasonable prices again. I miss DAs, they were probably the best part of the game, in my opinion.

Ah ok I see now. Disillusioned is not the same as delusional.

Delusional would be someone who cannot argue logically or will not accept sound facts and reasoning.

Disillusioned is someone who would be disappointed in someone or something that one discovers to be less good than one had believed.

Such as people were disillusioned with the roaring 20s (Gatsby parties). They were actually less good than one was led to believe.

It is not an insult but I see where the two might be confused default smiley ;)default smiley (y)

Next event guide (after the Cards)**Updated May 28**
Click to display
The event after the Cards should be “The Celebration” which is just a new theme based on the Halloween Trick Or Treat events we’ve had before. It also introduces a new divines series, the Maori divines.

For those new to this event:
.

***Disclaimer/Notice***
We’ve posed quite a few feedback/questions with this event on preprod, such as prizes and the Divine’s gift, so keep in mind that if the Howrse team takes our advice, some of this information could differ when the event goes live (as is the case with all events really), but at least you’ll still have an idea of what is coming next. I'll also try to update this as preprod progresses

His gift. This is something we've asked about it since it seems odd to get an item that specifically gives you the Water Element. **disclaimer: we've haven't tested it yet***

Prizes:

Collecting stuff+earning points:
Click to display

Here are the items and how you get them. Specific actions give you specific rarities, and I included that in the breakdown. **To be determined: flash sales***

Login (17 per day): 12 from top shelf, 4 from the middle shelf and 1 from the bottom shelf
Comp wins (4 a day): all bottom shelf items
Grooming (4 a day): all middle shelf items

Crafting in Workshops (all craft estimates are based on small workshop requirements)

Kid Arrival:
I’ve been tracking kid arrival for the past 4 days. On Day 1 we had 5 kids, Day 2 was also 5 kids, and then it’s gone up 1 kid a day from there, but we’ll see if this changes when it goes live

Point calculations
You get points based on the rarity you gave the kid and the kid’s preference which will be indicated by the tiki face expressions. And you add those points up. Calculation is courtesy of a player’s post during the last edition, but I can’t remember who posted it.

I have noticed a couple discrepancies in using this formula when you give items in the incorrect order. I asked about it, but I would suggest to give items in the correct order to be on the safe side. Otherwise, this formula has worked in other cases, but I offer no guarantees of course.

Rarity:
Top shelf items- 1 point
Mid shelf item- 2 points
Bottom shelf- 3 points

Preference:
Preferred (happy face): 10 points
Same level item (neutral face): 5 points
Not preferred (mad face): 0 points

For example:
Child A requests these two items:

And we give the child these:

You’ll get 3 points for the rock since it’s a bottom shelf item and 5 points since it’s of the same rarity as the preferred item. You’ll get 1 point for the shell since it’s a top shelf item and another 10 points because it’s the preferred item. (3+5)+(1+10) which will give you 19 points.

Special offer+collections
Click to display

Special Offer
For another 1 day 22 hours , buy a 3 x Blowing Shell and 12 offerings (one from each variety) for only 1 pass (or diamonds) for The Celebration !

Looks like you get 4 items from each rarity level.
Blowing shells call one child to you each and kids who arrive from these do not have a time limit. They still the end of the contest so you can give stuff to these kids later.

Collections:
We get curses if our point total is below 12 for what you offered. You should see it appear when you navigate to a new page. In this event you need to collect the curses to complete the collection. So, purposely get a low number of points to win Blowing Shells, that give you extra kids. Which isn’t too bad as you’ll likely get lots of extra top shelf items and just give kids two of those providing you’ll get 11 points or lower

Oh dear... I had hoped they wouldn't actually go forward with the Maori divines. In New Zealand we have a problem with non-Maori businesses commercializing Maori culture and religion, and seeing this just rubs me the wrong way. It devalues and parodies the lives of a people and a religion that still exist and are heavily influential in New Zealand and across the Pacific. I know Howrse seems quite keen on having Divines that are from ancient cultures but the Maori are not an ancient culture.
Sorry about this rant but this just irritates me a bit.

Rant about new promo under spoiler banner

This irritates me. I just spent fifteen minutes writing a really well-reasoned argument which I then deleted so I'm going to summarise.

As Springtalon said, its quite upsetting that Howrse is using the New Zealand Maori culture to line their pockets, but if they're set on doing it is it that hard to use the correct language?

In Maori mythology, Tiki was the first man created, and alternatively the well-known greenstone (pounamu) pendant that many Maori people wear. It is not a vessel of any sort whatsoever. A better word would be kete, which is a basket.

The google definition of Mana is 'an impersonal supernatural power which can be transmitted or inherited.' This is an extremely abstract concept in Maori culture, which encompasses a large part of their culture, including heritage and relationships with other people. It's really quite insulting that Howrse is trying to shrink it down to some sort of reward. An alternate would be Koha, which means gift or present.

I come back on Howrse after six months and see this? I'm very disappointed in all honesty, and I will most likely be messaging Contact Us, but just thought I'd let everyone in this thread know how unacceptable this is.

Honestly, I do not understand what about this fuzz is... Do not misunderstand me, I find Maori natives and their customs very fascinating, but all divines here are based upon someone's mythology, and in most cases are misinterpret in meaning and spiritual value. Relax and smile. They are beautiful. They are only pixels. And any able-to-use-their-brain player here is absolutely aware of all these inconsistencies related to mythological divines. The rest of players are simply ignorant and it's irrelevant if they know something correctly or not.

Agreed. I'm pagan and while I haven't decided on a pantheon to work with, I find learning about other gods/goddesses/spirits/etc very fascinating. And Howrse has helped in sparking my interest in many cultures. I've only recently heard about the Maori people, so I'd like to learn more through their gods.

I'm going to elaborate on what my issue with this is. I'm perfectly happy with Howrse using the Maori mythology, but the words they have used 'tiki' and 'mana' are not part of Maori mythology, they are sacred words used by Maori today in the 21st century, not in myth.

What Springtalon was saying, and what I'm not sure that people understand, is that the culture is still very much alive today, and it's one thing to use the names of gods (Tangaroa is sort of fine) but to incorrectly utilise words that have meaning to a current society doesn't seem right to me.

I am honestly sorry if I came about as rude, but I have a right to my own opinion. Hopefully someone learned something they didn't know about the fascinating culture.
