After a very long time, the Wandering Horses are finally back!

Collect all 16 Butterfly Wandering Horses and win prizes!

There are 16 Wandering Horses, each representing a species of butterfly. Each Wandering Horse has a meter that can be filled by completing an objective or by a pollen donation of a certain color, depending on the horse.

The objectives can be repeated as many times as needed.

When the meter reaches 100 points, you get the Wandering Horse in your breeding farm for five days, as well as the prizes linked to it.

Warning: The birthday objective ("celebrate a horse's 30th birthday") will be higher on the live game.

Major differences compared to previous Wandering Horses contests

You no longer get points for the Wandering horses in the Horn of Plenty as previously. Now you have to use pollen (which can be purchased directly during special offers with pollen packs)

You can’t get all Wandering horses from the first day. You can unlock 3 on the first day (during the tutorial) + the Wandering horse giving the divine. The following horses will become available at a 2/day rate.

Before you unlock them, you can’t start collecting points for them.

... could be done for relatively few passes.

The objective that will probably need passes is the HoPs. That can minimised by doing Xanthos each day. Also, it will be possible to use diamonds.

The trickier ones are raising a horse to a certain age, as we don't know how many and what the age is going to be. Preparation would be to have some passes saved (maybe 5-7) and be willing to lose a pass or two on this to complete.

Also birthing unicorns, for those who don't have any Hestia's gifts.

Makes it a good idea to go for the H. Gift & F.Wand on the current promo. And get some mares and a sire of the same breed blupped so it's free apart from the vets fees. If the promo runs for the usual 17 days + 2 half days, even just one covering a day with 4 mares is 68. There's a chance that would complete the objective. The only cost I can see here is the APs to age up the mares over gestation and ready for next covering time.

Some of the others could be completed by doing blupping and skilling.

The % from foal games/rides/comps will likely vary depending on the number of horses a player owns.

Ok, so I get that Howrse has to cater to paying players because that's how they make money. But is there any info on any possible events where people who aren't pass buyers have a chance at winning? I've been playing for over 3 years on and off and I've never seen one.

The UFO fights don't require any passes, just determination. If you're very lucky there's also a chance of completing the cards with no passes, and of course that you win the Divine in the Lottery.

However, there are also many ways on the game to make passes. If you save up and don't go all the way in all promotions, instead going after fewer Divines, but Divines that you find truly useful, you'll be able to complete a good few promos per year. The key is strategy and saving up.

Every promo is a chance for non-pass buyers to win a divine. Unless it's an offer that actually says "purchase x passes to win x divine. But those aren't often and are usually just for new unicorns like the Selle Francais offer we recently had.

In 9 years I've never bought a pass on the game and I've won a herd of divines, as have other non-pass buyers. Save up the 10 passes a month from pass horses, plus the Loyal player's pass, stroke 5 Xanthos a day for chances to win HoPs which help towards promos and you'll eventually find a promo you can complete. Or buy a divine when they pop up in reserved sales).

wandering horses is a promo, where they are only available for a period of time? I know that they come for 5 days, but is it just like a promo so you cant get them when the time is over?

The promotion itself lasts for a set period of time. If you win a Wandering Horse in the promotion, it stays with you for five days then gives you your gift. When the promotion ends, you can no longer win the Wandering Horses.

We don't know anything about the DA or if/when it really will be released again. I'm pretty sure that it used to be around 2 passes when it was around in the past, but I'm not certain.

Well,for almost two years I've been saving passes. I saved 11 passes a month ( 1 for 20% of my equus,and 10 by killing horses) and some times I used to sell horses for passes.. I ended up with 240 passes (!). And then I started to take part in the promos. I got a whole collection (the rainbow horses) and a lot of other divines by using the minimum passes I could. I still sell horses and still kill horses. There are a lot of ways to find passes. Also, I think it's not really bad to spend some real money once or twice a year. This is just my opinion.
By the way,if you think that promos will cost you a lot, you can wait till a divine will appear in HoPs, TCs etc.

I'm excited for the W____H____ promo! I was around for the second one (albeit different account that's since been closed T_T) and reading over the objectives they sound fairly easy for a non-pass buyer.

Due to glitches, it may never be available again, but I'd give anything for it to be back, even if it were just for a day. That's how badly I want a DA horse!

Are they ever going to bring back the promos where you could get tack for a legendary horse? I got 2 pieces of tormenta's tack but couldn't complete it. I would also like to know to see if I should make my horse with the taxk on immortal, because she is almost 25 and if they aren't bringing the tack back then there's no point in keeping her alive, but if them are then I will keep her alive.

We don't know. Admin are the only people who know at this moment, and they aren't likely to tell us.

We don't know when/if they will bring back a promo for the tack or not.

Personally I would just keep the horse in a separate tab and not take care of her for a while, just so that you don't have to waste a stone or accidentally go over 25 years old and waste the Legendary Tack. I'm pretty sure that they will do *something* for players to complete their collections, but we just don't know when or how.

Not necessarily if the new DAs had the new horse graphics. The value would definitely go down a little, but I don't think the market would be completely destroyed since the graphics would be slightly different.

They could also potentially introduce new patterns as well, or even make the new DA like the VA - so that horses wearing it can't be sold. Those would all contribute to pretty major differences between new and old DAs, so I think the ones already on the game would still hold up pretty well.
