This could indicate a Black Orchid, although due to his role and nature in Egyptian Religion, it would be highly unlikely, also considering the purpose of Black Orchids is to restore the morals of the living. One of Anubis' roles was to determine whether or not a soul should be allowed to enter the realm of the dead, and to usher souls into the afterlife.

None of the BMIs currently in Howrse would link to this theory.

Anubis and Osiris shared a close relationship in their symbolization, to the point where Osiris took Anubis' role as the God of the underworld. Strife occurred, and to cut a long drawn out story short, one of the two (I can't remember who XD) was briefly depicted as immortal... This would highly suggest that Anubis offered a Philosopher's Stone as his Black Market item.

I apologise if this is an absolutely crazy theory - it's three in the morning and I can't sleep at all XD

About the immortality - they were both gods do therefore - both immortal. Also, P. Stone = life, while Anubis is the god of the underworld which doesn't really fit.
That also goes for the theory about Pandora's Boxes - those are more life than death.
But eh, just my opinion.
Besides for that. Really excited for Anubis! Think il actually gonna try for him!

When first tested - The Divine Osiris was named Anubis. However, his name was changed after players felt he did not match up to the Jackal portrayal of Anubis.

Anyhow - as for Anubis offering a P. Stone - doubtful as we already have an Egyptian Divine that does this (Horus, and this makes sense given that P. Stones 'protects' a horse from Death - much like the Eye of Horus was said to be able to provide protection and healing) - and very rarely will two Divines in the same set offer the same BMI (Diamonds being the exception).

I personally could see him offering *though unlikely* a 'Themis' Scales' as this would fit into Anubis always being at the "weighing of the heart' ceremonies - but I have to agree with whomever it was who suggested Pandora's Box because of the whole "Anubis was depicted in black, a color that symbolized both rebirth and the discoloration of the corpse after embalming." (And Pandora's Box is the closest thing we have to 'rebirth' on here)

All Divines with different item drops have similar odds - but the best gift they offer will be dropped the least.

Using my Thoth - whom I've now had exactly 30 days...this is his gift rates:

Hermes Winged Staff = 1 day
Aging points = 10 days
Skill points = 19 days

While I'm not super good at math and can't give actual percentages - you can see that over 50% of the time, Skill points will be your gift. Followed by Aging Points - followed by Hermes' Winged Staff.

Ah yes, I forgot about the other Divines' BMIs... And the Themis' Scales'... it would fit in with the whole 'weighing of the heart' ceremonies rather well. It would be a shame however if he did offer a Pandora's Box, as he is quite the strapping Divine, in appearance that is, and personally I'd find that a waste XD

Anubis reminds me of Onyx for some reason... maybe it's the black.
