Is it bad that I don't measure? For blankets and such I just kind of hold it up against the horse and wing it. XD

By Retired breeder, 18th February 2016 19:13:13

By Retired breeder, 18th February 2016 19:43:04
The tails from hot glue! They get everywhere and stick to stuff, including me.

does any one know how to make a stable look real ? i made the stables out of Lego so they're not that realisticdefault smiley (lol)
By Retired breeder, 18th February 2016 19:55:07
You could get scrap book paper and glue it to the Legos to make it look like wood.
By Retired breeder, 18th February 2016 19:56:46
thats a brillant idea thank you soo muchdefault smiley :d
By Retired breeder, 18th February 2016 19:58:07
I know they make a lot of wood looking scrapbook papers and they should be at different craft stores. Or, if you wanted to make actual wood stalls, popscicle sticks work well too.
By Retired breeder, 18th February 2016 20:01:19
thank you , im going to print some off the internet default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 18th February 2016 20:07:40
Popsicle sticks, plywood, or thin wood panels would all work too.

Hot clue strings, popsicle sticks cracking when I cut them, and ribbon fraying!
By Retired breeder, 18th February 2016 21:23:27
My pet peeve is when the scissors aren't sharp enough, ad when hot glue gets stuck to felt, and you try to take it off, but it doesn't work!

I build my stables out of Popsicle sticks and a piece of wood for the bottom. I also use my brothers old Linkin Logs. You can make fences out of them too. I don't know what the new Linkin Logs look like, but my brother's are made out of real wood so they give my stables a real log cabin feel.

That is a great idea !
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2016 02:57:42
Amnewthanock my peeves are the same! Except for one more: the stupid sticky Velcro leaves nearly uncleanable stick all over my scissors! (I've cut my thumb with scissors twice. Once I was trying to rub stickiness off of my scissor blades. Be careful, kids!)
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2016 05:18:40
Val. I love your new avatar with the little quote!!!!!

My pet peeves are when scissors are not sharp, Hot glue leaves a nasty smear, you get burned by your glue or the gun, when you cut something too small and more, many more.

Ok so I've finished the stable, but have no straw, i dont want to use actual straw though , any ideas? And for the the food as well?
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2016 11:48:33
For straw, try cut up paper or yarn, or excelsior. It's floral stuff that looks like straw. Not sure for food. I use Perler beads just to fill my feed bags default smiley xd

What Jo said was great! I found that dead grass works amazing also. It is schleich sized, cheap, easy to find in any backyard or park, and it works!

Making a Schleich name list
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2016 15:24:43
Awesome! I've though of doing that but I never have. I also have a few horses without official names.. Lets see... Ok I guess I at least ALMOST have names for most of them. Except for two of my Terra's (got three from my cousins for Christmas.) and one of my oldest safaris, they all have names, just some of them have been nameless or had bad names for so long, I can't get used to their names. That's... Bella, Pansy, Dorado, Ginger, Zipper, and S'mores. And and Arab foal also doesn't have an official name. I have two not-so-good options right now..
By Retired breeder, 19th February 2016 15:29:23
99.9% of mine are name less
