[Event] Great Challenge and Water Battle

The Great Challenge

and Water Battle

The Great Challenge is back, and this time it will be followed by the Water Battle.

The Great Challenge part will end on 2025-07-29 12:00 and then the Water Battle will start.

The Water Battle part will end on 2025-08-04 14:00.

Lactarius will be available until 2025-08-05 14:00.

As a reminder, the community goal was removed and replaced with two fixed-time UFO sessions per day during the Battle.

There are no divine fragments in the daily objectives during this event. The number of fragments in Tyche's Crown was adjusted accordingly.

Catch UFOs

During the festivities, your task is to catch UFOs in 2 daily sessions. Each session will give you the chance to catch up to 6 UFOs.

Make Choices

After catching a UFO, decide to keep the gift (and lose points), send it to another player (and gain points), or spend Equus for a chance at a different UFO. The value of the UFO's content affects the points you win or lose. You can wait to decide, but you can't catch new UFOs until you make a choice.

Bonus Items

Win bonus points by using items earned from horse competitions, friends' help, or your participation in the Great Challenge.

Climb the Ranks

Accumulate points to rise in the rankings, unlocking gifts associated with your rank and those below.

What are your guys’ wins from the first round of UFOs? I came out with 3 arrows, 1 tears, and 2 belugas (traded a few times - got mash and lyres but didn’t want those so I decided to pay and risk it).

The event ended at the usual time. The time on the banner is the time you should go off, as the written time in the forum isn't based on your timezone

Just a heads up, we will probably get a small two hour session at the end, as we have in previous battles. This is because the battle, unlike the lottery, doesn't require a certain time for the prizes to be given

Round one done.

I’m keeping everything except lyres, I have 100+ and only use them for the trade a BM option in events. I’m happy to use a bit of equus on the chance of something more useful coming along.

I’m not requesting bonuses either but will still check regularly for friends requesting them. I also didn’t bother buying the key in the challenge for the first time as the prizes weren’t worth it to me. I’ve never gotten around to breeding the multiple Zebs and Jens I’ve collected in previous challenges so I was glad not to‘waste’ the passes this time around.

My meagre haul…

2 x 2* 2** blue and white Western saddle cloth
1 x 50 Mash
1 x 5,000e
1 x Croesus Fortune
1 x Beluga Pinata

Currently ranked 799th

I can see these posts are going to be the most entertaining part of this whole event default smiley :-))

Im confused, it looks like keeping the prize burns up all your bonus points. Ive traded all my prizes thus far for points (just equus and a lyre i have like 30) but now I have gotten a dial and I want it but am worried if I blow up all my points now I wont be able to keep another prize…

Is that how it works? Or am I misunderstanding?

Am with what seems like the majority...
Not going to bother trying to climb up the ranking. As pointed out, you rarely can end above the first or second level and tends just to be an equus sinkhole.
Have enough equus to trade out the many things I don' have a use for.
Using the bonuses I have (one per item, as the bonus value drops SIGNIFICANTLY the more you use) and not requesting any myself, but checking in on any friends that request them.
Sadly, when the time comes to do the survey I suspect it will again not differentiate between the Objectives and the Water Battle portion, which, to me, is SO wrong because I actually like the Objectives and would be very happy to never see this form of the Water Battle again!

I am just going to accept all prizes. I am trying to get in last place. As this event is pretty expensive to be able to get 1st place.

I'm really not sure what I'm doing. I finished the challenge with 2 days to spare, but I was still in the negative for starting the fight? I've made it to 40 points, but first place is currently about 500. How did they get that high so quickly? Do the points increase when you trade the same thing over and over? It's can't be luck with such a huge difference between me and the winners. If I wanted to play to win, what do I need to know? (I'll probably never win, but I'm still very confused on how to)

If you want to win you have to be prepared to spend a lot of equus trading up for the best prizes and ask your friends for help to get as many bonuses as you can.

Personally I cant be bothered. I'm taking everything as it comes and so far at -180 points and placed at 1362ⁿᵈ default smiley (lol)

It's based on luck. You get the better prize you either trade it by spending equus, the more times you trade the higher the cost per trade. The higher prized prize is the more points it's worth. To increase the points you use those ball things (I forgot the exact name). To get the points you have to give up the prize. To gain in the rank. You keep the prize you only get half the points towards the ranking.

The people that are in the top ranking probably has the equus to trade to get the good prizes and traded it in for the points.

1 Harmony pack, 2 Arrows, 2 heels from the first round that I kept. I also got a lyre but I did not keep that. I'm just keeping most items. I don't really care about 1st place

a halfway pleasant challenge followed by a depressing battle,

on the plus side i MIGHT get a HOP or 2 & a Kairos dial or 2 (not hugely optimistic), also on the plus side it'll be over in just a week then i can try and forget this "event" happened...

I am working for the prizes and couldn't care less about ranking. I traded a few balloons today and it was worthwhile.

Good luck and may the best UFO balloons be yours!

Don't understand some of the complaints tbh. While great challenge is kinds boring, howrse really put some high value prizes in events.TC and scale for free? Hell yeah. And already got harmony pack, heel and tears in the balloons. Happy to be back to shorter events with fat prizes, it's perfect

A timer, wand, heel, lyre, arrow and a saddlecloth. Not a bad round one default smiley :d.

As already said, I personally don't see the point in trying for the rankings prizes either, just collecting whatever I can, and if the trades work in my favour it's a nice bonus!
