Blast: Spring



Spring has definitely arrived on Howrse, and you can see it with the new edition of the Blast event! Destroy blocks in a grid to win incredible rewards!

The event will end on 2025-04-15 14:00.

Morchella will be available until 2025-04-23 14:00.


How to play?

Destroy blocks by clicking on a group of at least 2 blocks of the same color to fill up your chest gauge. The more blocks you destroy at once, the more points you will get.



Special Blocks

Click to display
You can find the following special blocks:

Glass blocks
Destroy adjacent block groups twice to destroy them and to get additional points.


Stone blocks
Get them to fall to the bottom of the grid to destroy them and to get additional points.


Rockets
Create them by destroying at least 8 blocks of the same color at once. Click on them to destroy all the blocks in the same column or the same line.


Explosion
Use the Explosion to destroy all the blocks on the grid. You can win 2 free Explosions with the Loyalty bonus or buy one Explosion for 35 Passes.


Chests

Click to display
Each time you destroy blocks on the grid, points are added to the chest gauge. The more blocks you destroy at once, the more points you get.

When the grid ends, you will receive a chest whose value depends on the number of blocks you destroyed on the grid.

There are 3 different chests: Wooden chest, Gold chest, and Crystal chest.


When there are no moves left, the grid ends, and at that moment, you will receive:

A chest that will be added to one of your available slots. The rarity of the chest depends on how filled the chest gauge is.

A cup that will fill your general gauge.


At the beginning, you have one slot available. You need to wait to unlock the other two slots or you can pay if you want to unlock them right away.

⚠ If all the slots are occupied, you cannot play on the grid anymore until you open one of the chests in a slot to free it up.

To open the chest you can:

Wait until the end of the timer.

Use boosters, and reduce the timer for some hours.

Pay for the Master Key, and reduce the timer to 0 for all the chests in the slots.

The chests that are in your slots will automatically be opened at the end of the event.

You can get boosters:

By buying them with Passes.

Every day when you log in, with a fidelity bonus if you come 5 days in a row.

Ow's Apple
Choose any special coat you desire for your horse.
You can pick any coat created by the game available in the Collections under "Special Coats".


New divine: Morchella

Morchella is from the Mushrooms series.
You can get fragments for this divine in the Tyche’s Crown, by playing both the Blast and the Merge events, and by completing your Daily Objectives.

It opens all your current chests. We get one for free, afterwards it costs 145 passes. We get access to it once two slots are full, but you don't have to use it right away; it's recommended that you wait until you have all slots filled with new crystals before using it to get the most out of the free key.

For now, yes, but soon everyone will have access to the other slots. The only way to have the other two currently is to pay passes to unlock them early. Slot two becomes available in a little under 4 days, while slot 3 is available in a little under 8 days.

The largest chest opens after 24 hr, the gold opens after 20 hrs. So you can only open the two large chests once per day, which also means you can only play once per day unless you buy extra slots or speed up boosts. You also need 45 wins to get the Ow's Apple, which won't be attainable when playing once per day for 12 days without the boosts

Following up with extra detail on my last post:

You do get 6 free speed ups from login everyday, which can open the larger chests allowing for two play throughs a day but that still only gives a total of 24 playthroughs for 12 days and not enough for the Ow's Apple

Follow-up to the follow-up:

I did the math on the extra slots unlocking since I somehow missed that detail before:

For the first 4 days you have one slot which is up to 2 plays a day, which is 8 plays for the first period of the game.

After slot two unlocks: There's a 3 day period with two chests that allow for up to 3 play throughs a day. 9 total for the duration of this period.

After slot 3 unlocks: We will have a week long period of playing with all of the slots, this will allow for up to 4 play throughs a day for a total of 28.

In the end, this does give us the 45 play throughs needed.

I was wrong before that it was unattainable for free, it will simply take you the entire to weeks to get all 54 competitions. And that's if you get chests on all of them.

I would have been ecstatic to see the frog a few weeks ago.

A couple of months back I sold a frog companioned horse, not realizing it was the only one in my farm. When I saw my collection for it missing, I went to the sales,and saw the cheapest one was over...100k, I think? I waited several weeks, and finally bought one for 50k.

I can't say it's worth the purple chest though. For all that companions can't be exchanged, they're just not an integral part of my game, and they almost always feel like filler space when I see them as prizes.

Can we stop with the dragon samurai tack set? It would be so much better in a Japanese style event than a spring event. Create some new tack, like a spring tack set. default smiley (li)

Am I the only one who thinks Morchella looks more like a zombie horse than a mushroom themed horse? It looked diseased in a visually unappealing waydefault smiley :'(

This. They're fun enough as a collector item, but once you have one, getting duplicates just feels really pointless and they're insanely hard to sell because you have to put them on the right horse (which means buying and training up a horse you don't need; high-effort for low payout) or hope there's a collector out there who wants that specific one. Or just undersell them in the auctions which is what I usually end up doing but man.

There's just so many, the value is almost all gone in them. :') You almost spend more on an ideal horse to put them on then the profit you get back... I have hundreds of companions because of that, it's almost not worth the time and horses
