This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

Awesome finds of late default smiley :)

Doesn't anyone wish we could have a better system of distinguishing and searching for retired rays.. a directory and grey'd out icon perhaps default smiley (8)

While we are posting wishes that we hope administration will read and decide we are absolutely right....

Can we get a search for HoGs and silver horn icon as well as an easy search in sales? HoG collectors have been asking for it for years, but does Howrse listen? Nope.default smiley (b)

Having a HoG search option in sales would be so amazing, going through every horse with a companion hoping to find one is so time consuming currently! And then I normally give up looking before I can find one default smiley (lol)

At one time we did have a gallery for companions and HoGs Just like for golden apples. I and others begged them not remove it due to collectors but our please were in vain.

This has long been probably my biggest desire on this game...i never understood why they provided the gallery, just to take it away shortly after with, to my recollection, little to no warning. It would be super beneficial for us collectors, as well as probably drum up interest in the HoGs in newer players, and ultimately benefit Howrse as well, as the market for them would expand and they would be more sought after. The HoGs are artwork that was created by players, some who have also created GA coats, and RCs, and Helios Rays. We have the coats and rays in the directories (although i find it very odd that the retired rays' numbers are not ever updated) and credit is given where credit is due, to the artists. But it would seem that the HoGs somehow don't count? These companions were bought and paid for by us players as well, and then Howrse basically ghosted them from us. There is no way to even search for them, unless a seller lists it in the name of their horses, and that is very little help as you still have to sift through a lot of sales, which isn't likely to yield many results anyway. I feel like we deserve better. Even the retired rays are at least still in the directories. So what's the deal?default smiley (li) I don't feel the HoG directory is too big of an ask.

Or Howrse could bring back HoGs and we could vote on coats for the companions. There would be a lot of categories. Then have them stay gold till the owner retires them, whenever that may be. That would bring a huge interest in collecting HoGs and companions again. People would buy passes to quickly add the companions before the owner retires them at their time of choice.
Just like the Pre cs. There would probably be a mad scramble for them too. Maybe have their release day on a different day so it doesn't conflict with retired coats, or an hour before release time etc.

Sure, we would miss out on a bunch to those that retire with less then 10 uses, and rarity keeps the industry strong and interest alive.

Companions don't seem to be going away, so it would be nice if we could customize them to to our liking. HoGs didn't seem crazy popular when they were put out, but once you take something away, and it becomes rare, then suddenly more people see the value in them. They are much more likely to embrace them a second round.

I'm honestly tired of all the endless companions coming out. Especially the pinata and Darumas. I've mostly stopped adding them to my retired coats, because unless it matches exactly, I think it lowers the value instead of raising it. So customizing a HoG would usually add to it's value. Companions rarely stay rare forever because they all get released in a promo again eventually. If fact if I'm buying skillers and I see a companion, most of the time I won't buy unless its a great deal. Also I have no incentive to collect all the companions since there is no trophy for it, and I doubt it does much for ones ranking.

I also wish we had the option to delete a companion. Maybe add it as a daily objective? So many of my best retired coats have companions that don't quite match, and nothing looks all that good on them. Unless of course we customize the companions again with a Horn of Glory. Then we could submit ones that match perfectly and maybe get them voted in.
