This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

Wow it has been a long time since any Pre CS coats retired! I had this one starred to get an extra copy of, darn. Oh well, at least i do have one!default smiley *-)

So happy!! I just got a HOG horse in the sales. It's my 2nd HOG & it's a zebra! My other one is a Swallow birdy. The HOGs are hard to come by from my experience, so I'm overjoyed!!

I also just went through the pre cs ga's and got myself a few that I have wanted, with the recent retirement of totalrandomness account I felt the pressure!!

Silly question but what does pre cs coat mean? Might edge my way into this. Put my first Limited coat on a horse yesterday

They are basically what we call coats that were uploaded before the current system we have. You can tell what coat is pre creation space because it will have stray pixels around the edges, and can't have a background added to it.

The pre cs coats are from wayyy back before the creation space was started and we used a item called the black pearl to submit coats and it was purchased in the black market and it wasn't always available. Now we have the creation space for submitting coats and backgrounds.
The pre cs coats have a dusty background and cannot have a Helios Ray or any other background applied. The pre cs coats are all quite old and the retired pre cs coats can be quite valuable. I have several. There's one player that has it explained very well in her forum but I cannot remember her username exactly... It has something to do with strawberries lol and she has a lot of wonderful HOG info in her forum as well. HOG (horn of gold) aren't available anymore and you can only find them in sales if you're lucky! It is cute artworks for the companion animals for the horses.

Do you mean Strawbz? She has the amazing HOG directory, but i couldn't find the Pre CS bit, although i might be blind lol.

Oh congrats!! default smiley (7) I have 4 now, but I was only able to get two because of a very helpful and generous player. Two swallows, (they're my favs) a polar bear, and a bunny.

Also woohoo I already had the total randomness coats! Only got the one coat of his recently though, I got lucky. default smiley <:o)

in a nutshell:

Before creation space new coats were added maybe twice a year.

Everything was checked by the team, I believe, and every coat that fitted the basic criteria was accepted, so we we had a mass drop. The rules on what was accepted also changed which is why some early coats were photo manips, although lots of these were later removed. However initially there were only 3 categories for coats horse, pony or pegasi. Then unicorns were added later. Peg and uni coats were universal for horses and ponies.

Creators could earn up to a certain amount of passes for their creation, but they only earned them if the coat was used. I think they earned a pass every 4 uses, up to 200 (?)

gaff has coats submitted on the old system, so I'm sure she will fill in the gaps/correct me.

Creators could open and close their coats at will, and some did once they realised coat collecting was becoming a thing. We had no idea about the stats back then when a coat retired, It just displayed a silver apple, no creator name or uses and some players used this to manipulate sales by 'minting' new copies of their retired coats. This led to upset in the community, and steps were taken that meant players could no longer open and close at will. They were given the option to open their coats up again or have them permanently retired, after this point a creator could choose to retire their coat at 100 uses (still in place) and at the same time it was decided that when players quit their coat would automatically retire (previously they could choose to retire or leave in use, and there was a period with a few glitched coats).

Then along came creation space.

A little later they decided to categorise the unicorn and peg coats, which is why you now find some older horses wearing what appears to be a pony coat, and more commonly vice versa. They basically looked at whether more horses or ponies were wearing it already and went with the majority (hence most ended up for horse breeds).

I'll have to look and see if I saved anything...

That's pretty much it, remembering it was also on the old pass system - 1 pass then is 100 passes now.
We did also get a Golden Apple to use, as the premise was that we were submitting the coat so we could use it ourselves.
