[Info] The Retired Coat Gallery

This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

*#*#*#* If players feel the need break the main topic rules, such as sales ads/coat countdowns/spares-you can expect an instant forum ban without any warning prior to it *#*#*#*

I need to get busy collecting different species so I'm not rushed a few hours before early release trying to gather the herd I need default smiley (lol)

I had to start breeding uni donkeys and drafts for all these releases default smiley :p And I slowly age up a bunch of each of the species every month so I have more than enough ready and in a specific tab

But it still takes me ages to set up, even with all that preparation default smiley xd

Ha ha same! But it largely has to do with the fact that i like to make things match up so much. I try to find the perfect horse for each coat, or at least as close to perfect as i can get. Of course that makes it all the more frustrating when i miss getting the coat applied in time during release!default smiley xd I don't breed much in the way of unis, donkeys, drafts, and any mixture of those species. I have lots of donkeys and drafts, and a good amount of regular unis, but the uni donkeys and uni drafts are much rarer, so i take advantage of my Isis perk each month to replenish stock a little bit. They are so pricey in sales!default smiley :o

Me too, try to make use of the Isis bonus and a hestia to help me along a bit too.

I'm always running out of them, plus the normal versions as just not something I breed. I have also increased the horse breed unis I am working as was running out of those a few months back too!

I do the same thing! Though, I don't always have the ability to breed the coats I need, so I often end up browsing the sales right before release default smiley xd

Ha ha, yep! I didn't have time to get one bred, though i like to do that if i need to! If i don't find a good option in my Apple Seeds farm, and i don't have time or a quality horse to breed, i go to sales. I absolutely love seeing these curly coats in voting, and of course i vote for them! I was very happy when this one got through, and ended up putting it on this horse! I actually saw Mouse Gray in the coat, but i can see how it could also look like Black!default smiley :p

Fingers crossed more curly coats get through!default smiley *-)

Collectors I need help!

Those of you who purchased a horse with a GA coat from sales after the trophy update, did that coat count toward your trophies?
Or do I really need to be the one to place the GA for it to count? Thanks

From the top of my head I think it's Siren by Celestine but that name might be slightly off

Low copy, very expensive RC removed from the game. I saw it coming but still sad for everyone that paid a ton for their copy

This was the first RC I've owned that got removed, so I was really surprised (and sad) when I got the message. Do you know why they removed it? And do they often remove RCs?

Also, I can't help but feel like one golden apple isn't really proper compensation for an RC... Though it's a lot better than nothing at least I guess

It's usually due to copyright reasons. Especially in this case, because it's fanart based on Stitch, and Disney is very particular about the use of their characters.

I wouldn't say coats are removed often, although it seems like there were more than usual last year, possibly because it took awhile to discover the that they were copyrighted elsewhere.
That's one that shouldn't have slipped through at all.

I have just lost that coat, I am not really surprised since it is clearly a Disney character.
I don't remember how much I paid for it since I had it for several years but it was expensive.

I have written contact us suggesting that when a RC coat is removed the owners is compensated 2.500 passes since that is the max selling price in direct sales.

That coat was worth a lot more than that, but that is a clear cut price that is easy to reference.

I really hope they do compensate you more, it's incredibly unfair to lose something of such value and be given almost nothing more than a "whoops! sorry" from Howrse. Copyright issues need to be addressed way before they ever make it this far. As much as I loved that coat, anyone with eyes can see what it's based on.

I'm not sure if this is for sharing new or old retired coats, but my favorite coat I own is this one from many years ago:

I really hope they implement this, a big part of the reason I stepped back from playing Howrse and collecting was due to them removing coats and only giving a GA to compensate. RC coats are worth far more than GAs and I don't want to spend lots of money getting a low-use coat, only for them to remove it later on and give a GA as "compensation".
