This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

They have from the 5th-26th to go through all the submissions, a tight schedule is not an excuse for a company like Ubisoft. If they are having trouble reviewing the coats for their own game they need to start limiting how many entries a player can submit a month. They also need to start restricting submission access to players who have repeatedly broken the CS guidelines. I have seen the same traced coat for months on end with no action being taken.
If a permanent Golden Apple is removed, fine, it's no big deal as it has little to no impact to the players. However, they need to make sure they look over coats set to limited carefully before they are released.


The staff's main job is to keep developing new content and fixing bugs. They obviously don't have a specific team that has the sole responsibility of checking coat reports as it's not profitable.

You can't expect them to work such a tight schedule while also completing their other tasks.

It all comes down to profits and reputation. Fixing this problem is not profitable enough nor would it gain them enough reputation among the player base to make it worthwhile.

Just more excuses for the Howrse team if you ask me default smiley (8)


Many things can be done to make coat release more manageable and reliable but Howrse love to "fix" things no one cares about and ignore post genuine complaints or suggestions. Then they make up excuses and pin the blame on players instead of taking responsibility. I've never seen such blatant disregard for loyal players anywhere more than I have on this game. And they wonder why all the big players are leaving

This coat was stolen from an existing coat on the game that the original artist didn't notice until it had gotten through, so tbh i feel like it isn't Howrse's fault on this one.





The original art is stunning, and i think it can be difficult for Howrse to pick up on cases like this, especially if the og artist either doesn't vote or doesnt play as much etc.

It's gorgeous! Arquebus is one of the remaining coats I'd just love to have default smiley *-) I have 5/11 karma coats now so maybe one day I'll finally get them all default smiley :p

This one was my favorite coat in the release, I'm glad I scooped a copy up!

Yeah, it would be practically impossible to know it was stolen from an existing coat if it was older/low use/unpopular, etc. I guess some slack can get cut for Howrse, but just this once.default smiley (lol)

What is the name of the original one? You're right, it's stunning!

Also pretty impossible for players to know it's stolen too, so many cookie cutter coats out there and even identical ones submitted in different categories or by adding a horn.

Again the emphasis for me is on the players submitting them dishonestly, they are the ones that are causing the coats to get pulled the vast majority of the time. I hope they are appropriately dealt with and blocked from further submissions if suitably proven that was the case.

I agree 100% haffyfan, so many creators make coats that are almost identical to their other coats, maybe a different color or an added horn, it can be difficult to discern what is stolen and what is just the same artist putting out similar coats as when voting you don't see the creators.

The emphasis should 100% be on the dishonest players, not on the Howrse team, even if they could do something more. They are the ones who are stealing art and playing it off as their own. A few edits, a different color does not make it their own. It is disappointing that people do that.
