This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

I think I’m going to start collecting reindeer/deer/elk/moose ect…. coats! I’ve already found a few ga ones I like and like the one posted above is just STUNNING default smiley (7) new obsession alert!

In fact, every coats or landscapes that I made, fits with other creations (not always with mine), I like to do this. I'm not going to tell you all the matches because I can't do it here, but if you want ask me or maybe when I will have time I will post them on my equestrian forum of international server. And of course you may be can find better ones matches than the original one that helped me to create, there is so much possibilities!
But yeah like you said, my style is quite similar in both, apples or ray, so some of them can match !

They really need to check coats a bit more thoroughly before they get put onto the game, especially ones that are worth more than the cost of the apple. It's not fair that people can spend 100s of passes on one, just to have it pulled and then only getting a GA or ability to put another coat on the horse through the HP. I know the developers have no control over the sales, but more should be offered if the horse was purchased recently.

I thought this was the idea of creation space, so that players can highlight issues and cut down on staff time doing it instead, meaning it is able to available monthly.

Originally the black pearl was only open on rare occasions and then a bulk amount of coats were added a fair bit later, with all getting through if they fitted the rules. Much better system if you ask me, but still had flaws and coats getting through that were later found to be in contradiction to rules in some way or other and pulled.

Perhaps if players were not submitting stolen or plagurised images or ones that otherwise contravene the rules, this wouldn't be occurring so regulary.

Coats being pulled, frustrating as it is, is just something that collectors have to be aware of and bear in mind when paying large amounts for them as I see it. Hence my reluctance to be held to ransom for the coats I miss each month.

The old system was far more exciting, you never really knew what would retire or when, the anticipation is lost with creation space, it's just a fight to the death and knowing the ones you miss will mostly sit in sales at silly money forever and a day. Cut my nose off to spite my face, that's me!

I've been here for almost 14 years now and I do remember how rare the pearl was, I also remember how the requirements to submit were tighter, like how you needed around 150 days of seniority and a certain amount of karma to submit. I remember very few coats getting pulled during this time, so perhaps we need those tighter restrictions back and proper sanctions for players that are caught submitting stolen images.

Nowadays I only really get the coats from artists that have been submitting for awhile, which is sad as it often means I pass up on new creators that are showing a lot of potential, but I am not prepared to take the risk with how expensive coats can get.

That said, I do feel that Howrse should have a duty of care when it comes to letting these coats slip through and properly compensating when players lose out because of it. Mistakes happen, yes, but it feels like this happens almost every release nowadays. I'd much rather we had fewer releases a year and instead let Howrse manually review coats that get enough votes before they got released onto the game.

With all due respect, Howrse staff should either make sure coats have no issues before letting them through or compensate players with whatever was spent on the coat. It's an absolute joke that players can spend 2500p on a coat only for it to one day be pulled (And this can happen with coats that have been in game for 5+ years as we saw with the recent GA removals)

It's all good and well to say its the "players risk" with purchasing but a much easier solution is to compensate more than just a GA if someone spent thousands on an RC or to take more care before letting these coats through. Many get reported while in the voting process. Why is there an option to report during voting if the coats get through anyway and won't get removed until after they've been established in the game?

Howrse likes to pin everything on being the players responsibility but really this is an issue that's on them. Something they need to fix. I'd rather have less frequent coat releases or ones with fewer coats and know they're all clean and will stay in the game. But that's just me default smiley (h)

It's hard to check all reports on time because of the tight schedule.

If they want to be able to check every report they'd need to stall for more time, for that I'd suggest they add another state for the creation space.

At present state, a coat you submit is either in
1. Voting state
2. Rejected state.
3. Approved state.

They should add an "On hold state" which would be attached to **approved** coats that got any reports on them.

Any coat that got withheld will not be released in the current month's coat release but will be checked first in the following month.

If the reports are valid, the coat will be rejected and the player will get punished, otherwise, the coat will automatically join next month's approved coats.

They have from the 5th-26th to go through all the submissions, a tight schedule is not an excuse for a company like Ubisoft. If they are having trouble reviewing the coats for their own game they need to start limiting how many entries a player can submit a month. They also need to start restricting submission access to players who have repeatedly broken the CS guidelines. I have seen the same traced coat for months on end with no action being taken.
If a permanent Golden Apple is removed, fine, it's no big deal as it has little to no impact to the players. However, they need to make sure they look over coats set to limited carefully before they are released.
