So, my thoughts on the new trophies now that I've fiddled.

I love them!!!

However, I feel diddled that several were set up with only one level. You've given us a system of bronze through diamond. Stick to it.
I feel diddled when I complete a bronze to find it only has one level, and I feel like I'm cheating when I look at the new instant-diamond-with-no-prior-work.

There are some older ones that cap at gold and have no diamond level, but even those there's at least more than a single level.

I guess it's cause some of the new ones are based on a random event and can't really be worked towards, but you could argue the UFO one is the same thing and that's got lots of levels.

I definitely think the caps and levels of the new "trophies" need some revising. Some of the meters take no time at all to max out. The dragon divines spring to mind, and the precious metals, and the wilds, and the chimeras, and the pet horses... oh and the cap on the Competitions trophy needs to be raised as well. Along with others.

Ugh what a mess.. makes me feel less and less like playing..

Wow, I haven't looked at the "GET REWARDS by watching promotional videos" in a very long time though I use to click on it every day, for years.....

Now it says "Due to a technical issue, advertising videos are no longer available on the PC version of Howrse. We invite you to use the mobile app to access this feature."

For me, that's not going to happen. I guess Desk Top computer users are not important to them. Another reason I won't put money toward this game any more.

In their defense, it's delegate time to fixing promotional videos that give meager rewards and generally have little impact on our games, or delegate the same time to working on actual game content and features, of which DO have a great impact on our games. They just don't have the time right now. They're not purposely leaving desktop players out. I don't understand all that stuff, but I think from what a friend has told me, it's easier to maintain videos on mobile than it is desktop versions.

I deleted the app a few days ago actually because I got a new phone, but in the past I downloaded the app and watched the videos. It's not that big of a deal. You can even stay logged into it, which removes a step if you're lazy like me lol. I use the mobile site though, so I didn't have the will to open the app on top of the site anymore, eventually.

Like honestly I don't get it why such hurt over those promotional videos, is it so bad not to get tack or some flax every day? On one hand I can count how many times I got passes ,whooping 4 times ,4, everything else is tack which i very successfully also get from events , of course it's luck based but you have the exact luck in events and with divines , just my two cents

Same. Everything the videos gave, a single Japanese divine would give you double, and every single event gives you three or four times the videos

I have more luck getting passes from Topaz than the videos honestly, I don't even bother to download the app.

Not to mention when I DID get passes, it was like 2 or 4. Whoop-de-doo

Its useful for newer players I suppose, but from AP UFOs and events, I think that's all covered?

Those may be meager awards to you but to me they add up and and can be used in other ways. This is the only game I play and everyone should be able to access all play features from what ever device they play.

Would it be possible to remove the Ascent of Olympus banner from the event carousel at some point?

It has its own permanent link in the breeding farm menu for easy access, and has been on the game long enough now for currently active players to know it's a feature. Keeping it in the banner carousel at the top of the page just adds another thing to clutter up the number of events and promotions to scroll through and find what you're looking for

Tbh, I don't know why I'm being quoted and lumped into this response lol. I was offering reasoning to why they're unavailable, based on comments they made in their Dev Q&A on Discord. Directly, the videos are difficult to fix and implement on desktop. Then in other areas of the Q&A they mentioned that they have to balance what they work on and give time to.

In comparison to other aspects of the game, the rewards from videos are objectively meager. That doesn't mean you can't personally value them more highly, but it makes sense, or I think it makes sense, that they'd choose to not work on fixing the videos at this time. I mean, personally, I hate wasting meadows in my EC growing apples, so any amount of apples I get from promos or divines, or as gifts from friends lol, I value very highly even if the amounts are so small. So, I get that.

However, I don't think them making this choice is them being vindictive, or any indication on how they feel about us lol. I think it's a matter of a feature being difficult and currently out of their realm to work on at this time. From my understanding, games that offer ads you can watch and receive rewards from make money. So, Howrse loses out, too.

I don't go on Discord or any other social media platform and personally think anything they have to say about the game should be said HERE on the game.

I don't believe they are being vindictive but over the years "the-powers-to-be" have made many poor changes that have either chased players away or caused paying players to stop spending money. I feel most of their effort now is devoted to finding ways to encourage players to again spend money so the game can survive.

They stuck the Spice horses at the bottom of the Ascent trophies AGAIN.

I thought sure they'd fix the placement after they removed it. I know it's a minor thing but all the trophies not being grouped right is just going to annoy me. I really hope they're not going to add every new trophy down at the bottom now regardless of grouping.

Wait so if the promotional videos only work on mobile then where do you find them? Whenever I go on mobile to try to watch a video for prizes I can never find it. The only way I know how to do it on desktop is to go to your homepage.
