i don't like those coats they look horrible on some breeds default smiley (n)
Good thing I am getting a lot of GAs & Harmony packs in the lottery...this is just like the last time they changed coats default smiley (lol) I liked the v2 coats (I started when you could use either v1 or v2 and I did not like v1 at all), so when they changed to the v3, I started using almost all GAs (which I never had used before).
Some of the other players didn't like the changes then, either. Some changed breed focus, or, like me, started using more GAs, but all the new players never really knew any difference. It will be the same this time, Howrse will not change it just because a few do not like a particular breed/coat, they will say there are just as many that do. Some may quit, or threaten to, anyway, but Howrse will go on...

Same old, same old <--showing my age! default smiley (lol)

The new curly look looks like the poor curly had a bath, he looks wet!
I really think most of them look better as far as the graphic, the coloring/shading needs some work on some though. I will add Morgans, Mustangs and Akhal-Tekes to my collection now! Anyone who likes the current Mustang graphic over the new one is crazy! Good job overall, Howrse! default smiley (y)

PS, I hope they will work on some of the wild graphics... compare the Dulmen Pony to the newer ones for example.

hese are not going to be fun. I dont like any of the changes howrse has made in the past few years. Its now impossible to sell horses for a decent price/the price the horse is actually worth because of the VIP account and how those people can refresh their sales so they jump up to the top and they flood the sales with like 50 horses. These changes are not for the better and will do nothing but ruin the game in my opinion. I havent liked any of these changes in the past few years(i have been on here since 2007 when the game started. this is not my first account. I know every change they have made and most are not great.) and they are ruining the game. The new coats look terrible! I stopped playing long ago because the game is no longer fun. These changes are not going to help.

Just a reminder...

Spoilers are things that are not yet on Howrse but that might be coming in the future.

They are *not* things that were on the game in the past but are now gone. Go to EC forums for that.

They are *not* things that Ow told us will be coming or stuff from the Howrse Blog.

I've liked most of the changes that howrse has made, I've been on since 08, and I haven't always liked everything, but on the whole agree with what they've done. A lot of people didn't like the change to V2 horses but they got over it. I think most people will get used to the new changes now.

I like the new Shetland, looks a lot my little mare did and she was a purebred.

The Arabian isn't bad, but the head could be more refined, with a smaller muzzle. A heavier mane and longer tail would be nice, as well.

The Friesian needs feathers, a heavier mane and tail and to be black, not grey.

The Gypsy Vanner also needs feathering and a heavier mane and tail.

The last observation I'll make about the new coats is the Newfoundland pony. The few I have seen, looked like somebody had waved a 'magic wand' and shrank a Friesian down to the size of a pony. From a tall Shetland(11 hands) to the size of a 'small' horse(14.2 hands). Including the luxurious mane, tail and feathers. They do come in moredefault smiley (8) colors. Check them out with bing or google.

Does anyone have an idea of what the foals will look like?

No, no! Please no. The wilds aren't broken. The new ones look completely different. My wilds don't want a makeover. They are happy the way they are.

I love the look of the new Trakehners. default smiley :d Aside from a few minor differences, it looks close to the real breed.

Are there any pictures of the new foals? Or are they not changing?
If the Gypsy is changed, I'm going to throw a fit. One of my favorite horses is my Gypsy Vanner, ɧɑʆʆɛʆʋȷɑɧ, and I didn't give her a coat because I loved her original so much. I bought her for that one reason, her coat. I don't breed them, but I just adore her.

The difference is just terrible. I'd give her a coat just so I could remember her as the original one, so I don't have to look at this.. thing. The Vanner's slight hair curling and just beautiful face makes me love them so much. They and the (current, not new) Knabs are some of my favorite horse designs.

The only two I like on this list are the Akhal-Teke and Fjord.

The Akhal-Teke is gorgeous. I think the horses should have more 'animation' to them. Taking away the cantering from the Hackneys and Standardbreds especially bothers me. Some horses work with the standing-still, but not all of them. Almost all of the horses listed look... dead. Just, no feeling to them.

Some of us remember the original horses from the original Howrse. I understand why they changed them; the design no longer fits the website, I respect and understand that. But they had feeling to them, the wind blowing through the Welsh and Connie's manes, some of the foals laying down adorably, spindly legs and all. Some had a relaxed foot, just little gestures that made them all the more better. Some of the designs needed reworking in the anatomy area, but the general idea was there.

Howrse has improved its designs greatly since then, but at the same time fallen back. I just hope that someday they can find the perfect balance for these coats.

Actually I think these are the best new coats howrse has ever done, especially the pony breeds default smiley (y) The only exceptions are the mustang needs a mane, the quarter horse looks sickly, and the freisian is just bad, it looks like a dark gray blob. Maybe they can use the gypsy coat for the freisian instead. I really do like the new shetland and gypsy, the ones we have now look like awful stuffed animals.
