Hello, This topic is made to receive any of the spoilers concerning new features you find or feel like sharing. Players that are in the test may decide to share what they are experiencing or not. .. VIP is likely a way to get those sort of players sorted out. If an older player without VIP wants VIP bad enough, It takes nothing to get a skiller and win a few rosettes during update.

Slightly irrelevant maybe but since it's called spoiler zone why on earth is their need for the annoying spoiler banners. Half the time you click them to then see nothing of value.
Surely people who don't want to know just don't enter a thread named spolier zone in the first place...

Because players might want to only know about one thing, and not come in here and find out about *everything* Such as, They may want to come in here and know what Cloud does, but they do not want to know about the Click to display Evolutionary horses

It would be silly for howrse to pick a new player to the game, and ask them their opinion on something that would affect things far beyond what that newer player understands at the moment Let's remember we don't know if someone is a new player or not, many players restart their accounts and have been here since the beginning  Click to display As a RC collector, I'm very horrified to learn that retired coats will be allowing a few more uses. There are many coats that are in my collection that I've spent years looking for and that have been retired for a very, very long time. So now, a player can just put in a big chunk of change and grab a coat? While there are some old coats I'd love to have, I can't justify this being a good thing. Many RC's are even rarer than they show as many copies are still living on "dead accounts" and very few are "in circulation". I also have to agree with those who bring up the point that it isn't fair to the artists either. If it's a Creation Space coat, then they submitter picked a use limit and that shouldn't be changed. The Pre-CS coats were either retired by the player or retired when that player left and they shouldn't even be touched. This makes me sick that Howrse is even thinking of doing this. Luckily, I haven't spent any money on this game, but my heart hurts for those that have, especially the RC collectors, some of which I feel are good friends. Absolutely out of line to even think about introducing this. This is how i feel, i'm a teenager and spending my hard earned money on this game occasionally, i don't want my money to just be thrown down the drain, i also don't want my money to be part of what may help bring this new feature, that i hate, to the game. |
That said, VIP players get invited to give their opinion because they have played in the game competitively enough to get VIP. I actually find that pretty offencive. I might not have a VIP but i have three years experience ( prior account ) and in a way what you wrote makes it sound like my over 3 years experience means nothing because i dont have a VIP account. I see what you mean but quite honestly if a player with 2 days senitory buys a buisness key , gets a rosette horse , then buys more passes and gets a VIP that two day old player has a chance to go onto the Test server. Does that sound fair or like they have more experience? Because it doesn't to me . Just because someone can get a VIP account does not mean they know more about the game.

I got on the test server for the VIP account, anybody can get on it, i'm pretty sure you don't have to be a VIP, there's just a lot of players to choose from on the game

And yes--what about us lowly non VIPs? We weren't invited to test! This is not a true statement. When I was NOT a VIP I was invited several times to partake in teh prepod. So just because you are not one doesn't mean that you may not get invited. |

Just to add I *think* non VIPs get a shorter testing time but I could be wrong.

There aren't nearly as many VIPs as non VIPs, like wildfire just said, they have been invited before, just remember how many people are registered on this server and they will only have maybe one hundred people on the test server at a time and people may get asked more than once, it's random, i'm sure everyone will get a chance |
Was that back when you tested the VIP account ? I'm sure far more VIPs are on there now the account is there.
However I wouldn't know. I've never tested.

I assume they only have a certain amount of players and not too many so they can get an average response from them. You'd be shocked, not many can keep the VIP account, i for one only have it right now because i sold some horses, there are 260,993 players to choose from on this server. |

I for one completely agree with this, we're all equals, i didn't even like the original idea of the VIP account, i just use the RC bonuses it gives, good luck with your game, i hope you get on the test server at some point, it's a lot of fun for the time you're on it |
One of the criteria for gaining VIP is buying of passes - since this is a profit making game it makes perfect sense to ask players who put money into the game to test the new features.
New features generally involve an outlay of passes somewhere or other so what would be the point of getting opinions of x amount of non pass buyers who may actually make use of the features beyond testing. All the falling out/upset about not getting on prepod is pretty pointless at the end of the day - the admin team will choose who goes on and who doesn't and i'm pretty sure they have criteria/reasons why certain players are chose each round. Not sure about the button people speak of but i have recieved a PM invite both as a VIP and as a non VIP. Not sure why as i'm one of those players who will never probably put half the features into play in the real game after what i said above

I am a Non-VIP and have been invited back several times. My invites stopped when I stopped logging into the Pre-prod when I was invited, which was due to my busy schedule. I think as long as the person can log in to it, they will keep being invited back.

It drives me a little nuts too XD Especially when people end up needing to have long conversations in spoiler tags  I wish instead of spoiler tags there was some sort of pop up that asks players if they're sure they want to enter the spoilers forum when they click on the link.

You don't really need preprod for that - plenty of people express their opinions on the real game. Also, if past forum threads about changes to the game are anything to go by most posts are just people who complain without even attempting to understand the changes. The devs want testers who give constructive criticism. I know this for a fact because in the past they would occasionally have a thread asking testers to nominate players to join preprod and nominees needed to have a good understanding of the game and be able to give constructive criticism.

I am very late to the party but I needed to add my thoughts
Click to display about the idea of being capable of buying rare retired coats I feel it is a terrible idea. First off all the rare retire coats I have that is hovering around 99-90 users will just be pushed over 100 and so being disqualified for the under hundred users trophy. meaning I will have to buy up several hundred rare retires coats again and before you get to excited about that prospect Howrse please consider this. if I go to buy a rare retired horse from the sales, the expensive ones goes for around 20 passes each, passes I will be buying from you to be capable of buying the horse. if you sell me an item that gives me this coat, you will be making less than if I brought the passes to buy the horse. and finally, many years on this game have taught me one thing Owlient never does a thing once ! so that means that all the coats that has gone up in numbers will raise even more when this item is released again next year, meaning that over the next couple of years only the 25 users will actually be rare. Everything else will slowly managed to make its way past 200. I'll admit I always feared that Owlient would decide to give us some way to buy the rare retired coats from them, I always wondered how they would do it and I truly do not feel it a good idea. Part of RC collecting is finding the coat going through thousands and sometimes tens of thousands of presentations looking for people who accept offers and have the coats and then sitting on pines and needles hoping they're willing to sell for the price you are offered or just sell at all, for me, those horses truly become something special I don't ever sell so their actual value is not the thing that matters to me, it's their exclusivity and how difficult it was and long it took to get them. I have the VIP account for the very reason to have early access to the coats and have faithfully been online every time excited waiting for them. please listen to your players Howrse, if for nothing else than because I truly believe that this will cost you more money in the long run, then you will make from it.
